Ah yes. There are some roads down there that might be fun in a Subaru, but we only use them as connectors to the roads we consider trails. No trail we run on would be a smart place to take a car for sure since 31" tires are still to short when its wet out. My truck with 38" boggers still has me high centering in some places and I drag my axles quite a bit. Had to pound my diff covers back in to shape more than once. Evan

Thats very nice. I knew I could learn something from the internet. Evan

I never really understood how they were going to make it anyway. The big airlines have been getting government bail out money for years. Also since the first airline companies many have come and gone. This is just the most recent on the list. Evan

We've talked about the place behind walmart a lot over the years in my club and its not a place to go if you want to stay out of trouble. They have stolen vehicle and trash dumping, and homeless camping going on down there. If you do happen to evade police and the security patrols in the parking lots then good for you. If you run into trouble like getting stuck and having to walk out then its very likely that your vehicle will be stripped and burned within hours. Yes its happened more than once. Evan

If your interesting you can register for our Novice trail ride for next weekend down near Tar Hollow state park a little east of Circleville. We ask that people register so that we get a count of people. Its possible that its getting late to request the info packet and forms to mail back, but we can give them to you the day of the ride as long as we at least get an message that your coming. Also the vehicle your driving needs to have a 4wd low range selection in your transfer case. Other than that anything goes. http://www.ohio4x4.com At the moment we have 20-25 vehicles coming for the ride at least one of which is a `07 FJ Cruiser. Guy must be nuts because its gonna get dirty and scratched to hell at the least and dented or broken in the worst case (hehe see I slipped my disclaimer in there.) Besides the places my club rides which are legal township roads typically 2 hours from downtown columbus there aren't really any legal areas around to ride. Wish I had a hill I could at least point my truck up to tune my carberator on, but no go here in central ohio. Evan

Unless you've got a good surface to drive on a forklift would just get itself stuck. Bobcat would do it pretty well. Pulling it with a truck would work, but you'd need rollers of some sort or at the very least skis. TIP: Make skis out of 2 4x4 boards. Then put another 4x4 across the front of it down low connected to the skis. Then attach chain and pull it all you want. All the force of the pulling will be down on the skis and well below the center of gravity so you'll get maximum pulling effort right were you want it. If its on grass you might need either an extremely heavy duty (for the weight) truck or a very capable truck/jeep with offroad tires to even get traction this time of year. Or just use a winch or your yard will be destroyed by spinning street tires. Evan

How do you endure negativity of others?
Tractor replied to TimTaylor751647545500's topic in Dumpster
I know someone who's so negative about every single aspect of life, anything said to them causes paranoid thinking, and its so bad that I almost wanna smack the shit out of them or ask if they'd like help in dying. No its not my wife, just a co worker. Poor dudes probably gonna be fired simply due to his extreme negativity and has no clue he does this to himself. Very sad and no clue how anyone would handle it. WTF is up with the Car with Doll heads all over it?
Tractor replied to LPFSTheFett's topic in Passing Lane
I used to live in the same neighborhood in Westerville. I've also seen the same guy drive the red one with all the really creepy doll heads and the black one which isn't quite as creepy, but still pretty odd. Evan -
Hehe I drive starring at my GPS screen. Nice work BTW. I hate the mounts they sell you as accessories or that come with the units. They are always kinda shitty for the money they cost. Evan

If I ever get bored of deep sky photography, my telescopes mount can be programmed for satellite tracking and I could try some photos of them. If you want to see some nice ones there are some videos people have shot on youtube of the ISS (even some with shuttles docked) at very high magnification. These are amature photos with amature gear and its still way more detail than I had imagined so pretty cool. Evan

Haha "rocket lawn chair" omg thats exactly like the noobs I see online. Evan

I got asked, but I'm not a subscriber. Just a share trader. Its been a very nice company to ride the movements this past year. Evan

I know a guy that hangs out up at Perkins Observatory that wears an iridium flare "satellite reflecting the suns light" wrist watch. He yells every few minutes for everyone to look up and there goes one. Evan

I'm gonna be doing some auto-guiding and other stuff with my telescope and need a laptop. Pentium 2, or 3 is as good as I need and I specifically like IBM models (I've worked on them for years so yeah...) Anyone got one laying around I can buy or know of a place that sells out dated stuff? Evan

Yeah Ad aware is the best I've found, free, and gets updated every couple of days. Evan

The wife and I have went to the Bahamas with Royal Carribean. We did it in a nice cold January and it was very cheap. total trip was about $1500 and wife one a few hundred back in the ship's casino. I don't think I'd go in summer due mostly to the high temps. `80's was plenty of heat for a couple of hillbillies anyway. I also agree about excursions. We browsed the catalog, but they were very over priced and "lame" especially the snorkeling since for $150 per person you got some flippers, mask, and snorkel and got to stick your head in the same water, in the same spot that everyone else did for free minus the gear. Weather Channel founder wants to sue Al Gore

Well to all the people who thought Bush was a dumbass for not signing the Kyoto treaty, FUCK YOU and see we told you so. Evan -
Oh I'm sure they sell cars like anyone else. I'm just interesting in what is up with their approach to selling. They are much different than other dealers in a very negative way. What I"m meaning about the guard shack is that when you go for a test drive they have to check in the trunk of the car wtf? Also my sister was the last person that I went there with and they demanded to look in her purse. She stood firm on that one and they didn't get to look, but they really pressed the issue. Not sure what they are looking for and I"m guessing its some type of show though I have no idea what. Evan

Myself I would drop the ISO and increase the shutter speed. I can usually take a couple shots at the same subject and get at least one good one at around 1/3sec. You could get a mono pod for those quick stop, frame, and shoot situations. The lighting in a large showroom style building is still gonna be very hard to do much of anything though. Best bet is post shot processing as suggested. Nice shots for sure though. Evan

I've been meaning to ask about them. Whats up with that place? I've been there a few times over the years to "browse around" and they have a very odd way of pitching a sale. Can anyone on here seriously explain their tactic? Anyone ever work there and can actually tell me what is up with the guard shack that checks the car your test driving over like your trying to get in to the contractor entrance at Rickenbacher AFB? For those who haven't been there they have a used car area which is not really accessible unless you enter their used car lobby and get mobbed by a salesman. The next thing that happens before you get to look at any cars is that they start the purchase paperwork and get your ID for test driving and all that. Actually if they have the make, model, year range your looking for they attempt to make you feel really bad that your just looking and that you should just take it like its walmart or something. I've never been happy in there and no one in my family has ever stayed there longer than a few minutes before leaving in frustration due to this practice. Evan

Try salary.com or google search for helpdesk pay rate or something. I've sites that have very good technical and survey data on salaries for different jobs. When I worked tier 2 desktop/printer repair I made $13/hour as a temp. IMHO field service is where its at. Evan

No refresh rate setting did anything except make the problem worse. I even installed "powerstrip" and did some extremely custom settings. I agree that its likely a refresh and/or sync that needs adjusted, but I can't think of anything else to try. The prize was for my companies Tech of the Year award. My company has a huge list of variables we use to track performance of our field service techs and in summary I did the job faster, cheaper, and with higher quality. Some of it comes down to the type of machines I work on vs other people so some guys are ruled out by default which kinda sucks, but at least its good for me:-) Evan

No problem. I continued to research and found that the TV can work on a PC, but you'd have to use 720p unless the TV happens to be good enough to work in 1080i mode. Since this is a cheap TV its 1080i mode will flicker and theres nothing that can be done at the moment. Oh well it was free and its now going on the wall in the master bathroom. Evan
