That would be an awesome place to visit. My wife would have to stay home, but the fear would keep me alive:-) I'm probably to slow now, but as a teenager we lived to climb. Evan

I'd go with bigger than 4 gauge if your gonna run your starter from your trunk. If you ever have to really crank on it you'll melt the 4 gauge pretty fast. 2 would probably be the best price/size to use. Evan

That is nuts. You know you should have probably called the police so they can file a report and fine the driver for having an unsafe load. Am I understanding that it fell off the roll back? If so then your likely to have bent "lots O stuff." Evan

Your serious? I know some of us old guys might have trouble, but I'd think anyone under 25 better be able to hit a straight pitch 1 or 2 out of 3 times. I smack a baseball around my yard a few times a week after work. +1 on the T-Ball idea I'm getting slow:-) Evan

I take nothing on the internet personal. I've been on the net since the days of BBS's and have had plenty of e-battles. Evan

First rule in investing "never swing for the fences." Now if you got play money thats different, but this rule applies when your just moving stuff around making small gains and trying to grow your capital and/or retirement stuff. Might be a good time to buy mutual funds (ETF's) at the moment, but remember people who bought them 8 months ago are probably at like -20 40%. It just wasn't the time unless it was a special fund tracking something other than the major markets. As I said if anyone has extra money now "should" be a good time to look into a fund. You can sell it after 180 days without taking any penalties and you'll just pay taxes, but a fund is good to keep until you see the markets up a lot, Then get the hell out. Evan

Umm? I've got 2 cars right now with bias tires. One is my trail truck and the other is my daily driver (it never gets radials, too expensive.) The only set of radial tires I've ever purchased was the tires on my `05 Tacoma. Evan

Why not play with a baseball? Evan

Thats the kind of prices I was used to back home. Up here in the big city to get my 4x4 trucks tires mounted is usually $25-30 per tire. No balancing or anything else done either since I run 1 lb of BB's per tire they never get out of balance. Evan

I'd think if the police are worth anything they could solve the problem. I bet the parents would care a little more if they are paying for your repairs. Evan

Higher the gas price = higher my company pays out reimbursement so I'm about as happy as an Exxon executive right now:-) Evan

Haha most of you ain't even old enough or mature enough to know that with women its always about "their feelings" and thats pretty much it. We're men damn it we don't have feelings anyway. Basically they know we want pussy and will get it were we can so they play games and shit until we're whipped or tired of it and move to easier pussy. Thats at least the way it always has worked. I say if the dude wants to stay with her and she wants to stay with him at the moment then its the end of the thread. Sure we might hear about it again in a few months/years, but maybe not. She is coming to the age were she'll probably be fine for a long time before having female mental problems again. Evan

Chicks do this stuff. They can't make up their minds several times throughout life. If you need to have her in your life make her remember she needs you. Only you will know how. Hell some family member is possibly even messing with her head. They are so easily confused and manipulated that its really kinda sad. Especially if she's also around 20. I dated my wife from the time she was 15/16. Man I'll never fight like that for anyone else again. I hated the "dating thing" and I hate it even more looking back. Evan

Hehe by old I sorta meant that I've been sitting in a car doing field service work for 11 years. Evan

Thats pretty funny and that little guy was always pretty funny trying to talk to everyone. Evan

I used to skate everyday. To bad that was the 80's and I"m now to old and slow for that sort of thing. I'm always itching to try again, but I already know how it will turn out and I'm not missing work:p Evan

GPS units are going to have an error of +/-2 MPH at any given time for the best store bought units. That is if your going in a true straight line with no change in altitude as well. If you through a turn, slight hill or any of that in the mix then they get less accurate. Thats also assuming your receiving a couple of the WAAS satellites and a couple more of the older ones and they are evenly spaced across your sky at the time of recording. Evan

Hehe tomorrow my club has invited novices to come and trail ride down there. There will be some with tires that sized I'm sure. Of course with the rain we got today (hehe I sacrificed a puppy to the rain god) those people will be having a challenging time out on the trails. Actually I'd be surprised if we can even cross one of the creeks, but I bet I know who gets to go first and I'm trying to remember if I put my transmission vent high enough:-) Evan

I've always found that at least Advance is easier to work with when you have trouble such as the trouble you had. At Autozone they really do do the "Duhhh hurrrr duhhh" stuff. At least thats been my experience from every autozone I've been to EVER. I only go in that store when I'm riding with someone who won't go somewhere else. Evan

Okay you got me interested. My truck really wants to see this one. Evan

Rear wheel drive cars are all gonna be mostly the same in the snow unless one happens to be heavier than another car your comparing. It all comes down to just a few simple things really. RWD needs weight over the rear tires, real snow tires help tremendously, and a light foot. All of these things require an informed driver and a prepared driver. Also if your finding the snow is deep and you need more traction, lowering the air pressure will help a lot. Remember as you cut your air pressure in half your also cutting your ground clearance, but at the same time your increasing your tire "foot print" so your not really losing ground clearance and your adding traction. It also helps get the front tires to roll up and over the snow as an added bonus. Of course I'm not taking any traction control stuff into consideration. I'm talking plain old RWD cars. Evan

If it were me (and it was last year X 5 acres) I wouldn't use hay/straw. If its a small area just rake the soil up, plant seed, rake again to stir it all up and water every few days if we don't get rain. You'll have mowable grass there in a few weeks and no crappy straw all over the area for years. My parents put straw down on their yard, 3 acres around 10 years ago and you can still see the dead stuff mixed in with the dirt in a lot of places. On my property I just spread the seed then dragged a old chain link fence over the whole area with my tractor to mix it up. Grass is growing nicely. Evan

Not gonna rain on the thread. Good to see you helped your dog by killing it yourself. To me there is no greater act a man can do for mans best friend besides just treating them decent while they live. I've had many pets, personally had to help a few out of suffering. You gain much respect for having the guts to let go and giving it a personal touch. Sorry about your dog, now go find a puppy and play with it a lot:-) Evan

Sounds like alternator trouble to me. I'd check your power with a volt meter while the electrical system is under load, but from the "dim lights" and other things its very likely the alternator so just replace it or at least open it and replace the brushes:-) Maybe clean a few things while your in there if you don't want to buy the thing. I do take ride-a-longs most every ride. Its either my wife or Mike most times. On this ride its supposed to be one of the guys from work, but he was up in the air last week. I usually end up finding out at the last minute (kinda sucky, but someone usually has a full jeep and gives me a passenger.) Evan
