  1. Idk about Ohio, here we're nearly completely shutdown for the summer, best case is they are letting restaurants and hotels operate at 50% capacity which is still going to put most of the economy here out of business. I'm already getting tickets coming through the system to remove PCs etc from businesses here as permanent store closures and nearly everyone is out of a job. Though for now they are enjoying high pay unemployment which I also don't agree with.

  3. An entire aircraft carrier had a huge infection rate so yeah contagious, but on the same carrier death rate isn't bad. Unless you can find current numbers I found one maybe two deaths in a crew of many thousands. I've seen where the doctors involved in this are saying as many as 70% of the US population is going to be positive for this at some point in the next few years so I don't think it's a matter of if but when for many of us. I'm just a grumpy fucker so yeah...

  5. I get what your saying. Let's try this scenario from deep within my tin foil hat. Every few years a virus mutates all on it's own that is going to spread around the world and can reach pandemic levels. That's a fact. However they aren't all gonna be the black death or even Spanish flu. If the media around the world gets bored and starts reporting every case and death we end up with concerned citizens who demand answers from political leadership who in no way are qualified to deal with actual situation's and worry mostly about their own careers (on both sides). So in the end we have fear driven reactions and collapse the world economy and ruin the lives of millions and put massive debt load on future generations of millions and billions. I still maintain that I can't believe they actually panicked this bad. I might even get it and die but I'll go to my grave believing the world shouldn't stop just for little ole me.

    Masterclass

I also drive a lot for work and lately have been doing free stuff on youtube, but I have done pluralsight courses for Microsoft MCSE training in the past. I get a ton of learning done on the road everyday lol.
  8. I've had the low pressure switch cause that. In my case it was a faulty switch but it can be due to low pressure in the lines.
  9. I'm so cynical I just don't believe much of anything anymore. They ain't the first person connected to COVID-19 research that I've heard had an accident over the past few weeks. Is this shit even possible? I love watching the original x files and the r/l shit we've read the past 10-15 years must make the shows writers feel kinda odd.
  10. I'm right there with you, my business has been 90% dead for the past two months. Today my schedule started to fill for the next few days maybe things are getting better.
  11. What are you making the steel out of? I looks like it was heated so I'm guessing you didn't buy them premade.
  12. Then consider the effect of municipalities not getting tax revenue and we start to have a picture of the economic impact of everyone sitting at home. Very expensive, the modem world operates on $$$. We can't just stop the process somewhere in the middle and print money to plug the holes. There are and will be consequences for years to come
  13. These deeper dives into the cost of shutting everything down is exactly what I realised on day one and was shocked that they made that decision.
  14. I have a ton of live oak trees on my property, many are very straight. They are a little heavy but it's more for fun and they aren't gonna break easily if I decided to bash something with one. I have dug up some for the root ball and am going to try making some fancy clubs as well.
  15. Well I heard that if you catch it then you won't have to pay for treatment so it's in the interest of all parties to get that diagnosis so it probably extends to deaths in some way.
  16. I saw unemployment at 30 million this week. Remember that number never counts accurate either because of all the small businesses, freelancers, 1099s, and under the table work that also fuels the economy.
  17. I'm just in the browsing for ideas stage. I have most of my sticks still drying out. I would like to make at least one taller one into something like a wizard staff but I want to spend a lot of time on it and make it nice. Not of the styrofoam variety that I see online lol.
  18. Wow yeah that would be a lot of work. I've looked at some of the walking stick DIY forums and people usually buy through a few places that make the tips, etc, but the price is pretty high.
  19. Nice work! Where are you getting the brass looking pieces? I've been trying to decide how I'm going to finish some walking sticks that I have drying in my shed.
  20. Yes reverse splits raise the share price by lowering the number of shares total.
  21. I didn't go the unemployment route and since I'm a Contractor and business I could go the PPP loan route. That was a mess but still pretty painless and I got funded in about 3 weeks. Most of it was the .Gov trying to figure out exactly how to do it.
  22. I got that one after deciding for a while and what got me was the warranty is now 10 years on everything. Can't really beat that for a sub $500 grill Still working on the kitchen;-)
  23. I pickup up a Weber 3 burner this winter and built it into my outdoor kitchen. The grill cooks great and here we cook on it several times a week year round.
  24. This. Personally I've done all that stuff everyday for the past 15 years just fine and in the last few my job requires me to do most of it to continue to work while I drive. Nothing like TeamViewer at 70mph
  25. I think of tide pods. My theory is that the president is trolling to some degree. Not because he's a genius because he's not, but rather there are PR people involved and I don't understand why but they always want the Republican playing stupid. I think this time it's dangerous. Same thing with Bush except he portrayed an idiot cowboy
