I really shouldn't bring my rant here. I'm just a mental case (more than usual) with all this and my wife and I have been through way to much in the past twenty years and are extremely focused on trying to make things better for our children.

I risk life and limb every time I go out to work. I even have an illness that causes me to be mostly bed bound except that I have to man up every day and go work the best I can a few hours then back to bed. Now the .gov shut down the fucking planet and took what little work I can do away by default. I haven't taken disability even though I qualify, I want to go forward and fight the good fight everyday and maybe even still make some of my goals, mostly a better future for my children. I can't care about everyone else around me, at the end of the day.

Being able to earn cash is kind of essential for some.

What ever happened to just using a stone and doing it by hand? I still use an old EZE Lap I got when I was like 12 yrs old. It takes less than a minute to freshen up the edge and I can shave with the results.

They did open up unemployment to include the self employed this time around unless that's an Ohio thing. Also the PPP and SBA loans are out there. I'm in process of getting my own approved and can advise him if you need help. My wife is also a banker and busy as hell getting these done for people right now.

We're gonna be alright, we lost everything in the last bubble and it's very frustrating to have climbed out of that whole only to be told your out of business. We have hardened our selves against loses this time by being in a very low cost of living situation but still. I'm still fighting an incurable illness and trying to build my lifelong dream of operating a business. But hey in keeping with the thread topic, if I get it out of this with my life in tact I'll use the money to buy stuff for the nice pole building I was in the middle of building.

How about just surviving because some of us are actually effected by this bullshit and have families to take care of.

Here the home Depot and Lowe's parking lots are near capacity all day everyday with the whole places filled with boomers. It's really kind of annoying for us businesses that need to get stuff for jobs.

I'm actually really in need of a partner for my tech business. I got the technical part covered and need someone to run the sales side. Who ever does it can have it I want nothing to do with that side.

Tim and I see the same things and understand what a shutdown actually means.

Wow, you guys are awesome. He's gonna remember that forever. In about 1989 my brother and I were having a joint birthday party. We were about 10 and 8 and had a ton of friends over. We were on the national guard flight path out of wood county West Virginia and one of their Huey's emergency landed In our field about 200 yards from us. It stayed a week or so until eventually one of the heavy lifting helicopters came and picked it up.

Maybe some are willing to risk death for freedom against the exact type of tyranny that would be required to save as many lives as possible. Asking for a friend;-)

My problem with that video saying that China has been showing good signs of recovery is that China is an exporter which means they build things and they sell it to us. We on the other hand are a consumer economy which means it will take us longer because we need people earning money and consuming (chinese goods) and domestic services. My region here at Myrtle Beach and South Carolina in general is going to be hit very hard because the area is 90% or more hospitality, restaurants, and entertainment. My county does about $2.5 billion in tax revenue for the area and state so its gonna be fun here the next couple years.

With about 80% of cases being mild and that number definitely higher do to under-reporting and asymptomatic cases I don't see the problem. CDC confirms around 60 million people got swine flu so I would expect a similar number will get this at some point over the next year or two. With that in mind I can't see the world being put on hold until sometime in 2021. If we did the world as we know it wouldn't be here to come back to and there would be a long road to rebuild.

Looks like my PPP loan is actually moving forward slowly. I applied on the 6th. I haven't heard anything from the SBA about the other loan though.
-
Its those horny IT guys and bankers, the strippers are really hurting right now. Also if you have applied for the SBA's disaster loan you'll notice that "adult" industry is excluded from the process.

I understand, believe me I don't actually want to die, I've been fighting an illness very hard the last couple years and was maybe getting better. So far doctors can't really diagnose me, but think its autoimmune. This whole thing is very frustrating as if trying to run a business as a sick person wasn't hard enough now most of the jobs I've been doing have cancelled and I'm kinda pissed that a lot of us will be lucky to not be financially ruined on the other side of this. This "crisis" makes the third one that really effected me, Dot Com, Housing bubble, and now the coronavirus.
-
I'm not gonna get anyone in trouble, but I do know two nurses right now who've been treating infected patients and even had a few die and they are just driving home to their families every day possibly spreading the infection. To me thats pretty shitty, I even know that one of them had a family gathering including kids friends so that several other families could potentially be in contact with people who have been in direct contact with the now dead. That is half assed to the max.

I do have an immune disease and am going into medical places to do work, I am trying to limit it, but my family still needs money and to be honest if I catch it and die then "life insurance for the win". I guess I'm crazy, but I'm also doing the best I can for my family.

I've thought the whole thing was an overreaction from the start and I completely understand what a virus could do to the population, I also understand the bigger picture of the cost of shutting down the entire planet of billions to save a million or two. I'd hate to have to make those decisions and I'm shocked at the way we went because to stop it spreading we can't do enough and to do it half assed is just dumb.

Yes the outside fan should be running for sure. I'd check the simple things first, breakers and put a volt meter on a few places on the power board, ie motor power output. You can also check at the capacitor and fan itself, its a pretty simple thing to troubleshoot.

The world runs on money and right now the governments of the world told everybody to stop working and it'll be okay we'll just print some money. At some point the economic cost is going to come crashing down on us and some of us and many will wonder if it was worth it.
-
Good plan. My work is down about 90% right now and I applied for the small business help that is available. The only work I'm not taking is in the medical facilities for now.
-
I have an IT field service company so I touch every dirty piece of equipment in every office and I told the wife weeks ago that I'll end up getting this virus eventually. It might be a year down the road and I don't feel we should shut down the economy. This isn't going away just because we take a couple months off from everything.

I agree and I have an immune disease that puts me at risk. Nothing I'm gonna do though, I gotta work.
