  1. Lol sounds about right. In the last few years they've even just showed up and done my yard without anyone permission and then tried to say my wife ordered it. I just tell them were to stick it, thanks for killing my grass, and let them know that my wife works at the bank we use and not to even bother billing us because its not happening. They do it every few months during the summer, its nuts and something needs done. Evan.
  2. Oh wow duct taped to the pipe is awesome and a reason I don't drink. I duct taped a dude to a table once in boy scouts. that was pretty funny except that he yelled all night and no one could sleep. Evan
  3. Yeah if you were a student then you obviously couldn't have work history for them to check anyway so I wouldn't worry about it to much. Its not really part of the hiring process its just part of base security and I'll bet they just run your SSN and if that and some other simple things come back okay they don't even bother checking into all your history. Its just incase they find discrepencies and have to investigate further. Of course if you had anything to hide applying for a job with the government wouldn't be the smartest way to stay hidden. I had companies that went out of business on my forms as well and I had no problems. Evan
  4. I got the clearance for DFAS and Rickenbacker. Lots of fun. You'll need places you've lived and worked for at least the last 5 years maybe 7. Not sure if they really did change it to only 5 years or not. I heard they did. You'll also need 1 or 2 people that can be used as references to prove you lived/worked at those addresses during that time. They had us do the paper forms and then a long ass computer based form. Evan
  5. Comics gay. Ninja Turtles are radical. Yeah I wanted to be a ninja turtle when I grew up, but I got all lazy and married:-( Evan
  6. I don't agree with global warming being caused by humans, but I do have to fight one of the points made by my peers about this problem. I've been an amature astronomer for about 20 of my years and I can tell you that the "sun spot" causing temp changes thing is not correct. It could be old news that our guys keep throwing out their since the sun changes sun spot activity in 11 year cycles and is currently in a calm period = one or no sun spots at this time. If you don't believe me come on over and I"ll show you with my telescope. there are almost no spots right now. Of course this could mean that when there aren't as many sun spots the sun gets hotter, but I'd think that this defys logic since when the sun is in an active spot period the flares easily make it to earth and usually cause some really great auroral activity. BTW your argument about Kyoto is a good one and I'd like to add that I heard on national public radio that some of the EU nations are either thinking about or have already pulled out of the treaty as its getting way to expensive for them. Evan
  7. Hehe I just don't give a rats ass and like pissing off libs. Always predictably telling everyone else they are dumb. I just bought 5 acres of trees, brush, and trash so I think I'll go clear cut it, throw some of the 10 or so tires I've got laying around along with about 40 gallons of motor oil and make myself a nice fire. Anyone want some hotdogs? We could have a CR BBQ:-) If yal feel this way about global warming get the hell off of an automotive racing forum because you'll kill your own hobby trying to save the planet. Not sure about the rest of you, but to me automobiles are all about the gasoline. I wouldn't have anything to do with them if they didn't waste mass quantities of it. Evan
  8. Lol don't care at all about my childrens children's earth. I live now and thats all thats really going to matter to me anyway. I'm starting to agree with Rush about global warming becomming the religion of the godless libs. Scientists even did a study on what happens if it warms to much and they found that it would cycle like it has over and over and if we all die in the process there probably wasn't anything we could do about it anyway. Oh well probably more crap to stirr things up anyway. Watched that one on one of the science channels so who knows. Evan
  9. 1) I heard there is record snow fall in the polar regions. 2) I heard polar bear population is up 60% and rules on hunting them are about to go into effect to control the increasing population. 3) Who cares if a polar bear drowns. Shouldn't have went out that far anyway. Mostly just making a point that your news told you what you want to hear and that my news told me what I want to hear. Science or politics? you decide. Evan
  10. Everytime I change my policies (happens quite alot) I get a mailing with new insurance cards in it. I've sent them old ones with longer dates before just to get them to shut up. They are a bunch of robots anyway. They just look like humans and I'm not sure what M. I. T. is trying to invent:-) Evan
  11. Exactly how I feel Mushijobah. Taxes really hurt everyone in the economy. I know they hurt me especially since I don't use most of the things that tax money goes to. At least the money going into the war produces me some nice Military Channel shows. Anyone else feel that someone should be allowed to make say 15K per year and have 2 kids and a wife that don't work and then get a tax rebate of like 4K? I have a serious problem with this and my brother is the person I'm talking about so I do understand. They just use the money for drugs and booze too which I think is just great. He should go to jail forever IMO. Evan

    Impeach Bush ?

Oh god, here go the dems and "clinton got us out of debt crap." Anyone here old enough to know of Reaganomics? The 90's were good times for investors, but there was a correction. Now my personal investments have done +60% returns since 2003. BTW our debt is doing really well atm you guys need to stop listening to hollywood and their buddies over at CNN/fn. Not a good source of info. The tax cuts the bush admin put into effect early on in his first term are paying off really well now. I just don't get peoples thinking that cutting taxes is a bad thing. I prefer free markets. I understand some basic regulation, but taxation should be kept to a minimum and people no matter what their personal situation should not recieve hand outs of any kind after a reasonable period of time. I have family who abuse the system in order to live and they well way to well for not having jobs. Anyone who thinks Osama is the goal needs to read some more. The target has and always will be the oil and I"m okay with this. We need it there's currently no way around it and we wouldn't even care about those crazy religous jerks if it wasn't there. The very hobby that brings you to this BBS requires oil and some of you think its evil to go after it, (odd.) Evan

    Impeach Bush ?

I don't care how many have died. So far we haven't even came to the number who died in a single major engagment of any previous major war so I say its all worth it if by some chance the dems don't mess it up and we get a stable middle east for a few years. I'm for bush 90% the only things I don't agree with him on are some of his domestic policies that he was kinda forced into making to keep the dems happy while he's pwning arabs. Don't bother fighting me on this I"m probably more informed than 99% of the younger guys on here. Though their are alot of very well informed on both sides. I do agree that we need 2 or more sides to argue back and forth though so we can keep the democratic balance. Keep up the good bitching:-) Evan
  14. Nice man. Pickerington is definatly not one of the areas I see turning to slums anytime soon. I'm about to start building up near Marengo on 5 acres I just got. I'm tired of asshat neighborhoods. Now I'll be more than 1/4mile off the road so I can do what the fuck I want and if anyone complains they would have to be trespassing to know about it:) Evan
  15. Take off the inspection plate and have a look. Its possible that its simply the inspection plate vibrating also. You can even check the bolts from there. I'd do that before I'd let a shop tell me I need something just so they get to rob me. Evan
  16. But if they made the driving test harder the economy would suck because something like only 20% of the people could even pass it. Think of all the repair shops, dealers, accessory stores, that would go under and thats not even the tip of this iceburg. I agree though test should involve alot more than a 20 question paper and driving through some cones. Evan
  17. A good realtor should get you new home buyer assistance. if they don't know anything about that run the other way fast. I gave you his name because I know he knows his stuff. If you got a realtor and our asking on here for info then your realtor needs to do some reading. BTW to anwser your question more directly. Yes there are alot of programs avalible to home buyers. Tons of them some aren't as good as others. Get a knowledgable realtor they can save you thousands. Evan
  18. Hehe sounds like their trying to make it into something more enjoyable for the masses. How does it compare in handling to FS2004? I liked FS4, FS2002, FS2004 for the most realistic handling. I haven't got the newest one yet. I got a small cockpit setup in my basement. CH Products Yoke and pedals, home built throttle quadrant, powered toyota supra seat for the chair. I do alot of cross country IFR flights so I needed something better to sit on than the standard computer chair. I switch out the yoke for a Logitec joystick for the helios and its a blast to fly around downtown Cbus landing on buildings. Evan
  19. When we bought our first home we applied through Ameridream. It gets you 0 down and all that. Just what a first home buyer usually needs. Kinda sucks that you end up with some mortgage insurance that you have to pay. Ours was like $50 per month added to the payment, but it is removed after the first 5 years of the loan. If you want a really great realtor talk to Sid Huck with Remax. I can get you a number if you want. He's selling our current home, was our realtor for the land purchase to build our new house and he's advising us on the construction of our new home. Some say home prices are gonna be comming down in the next 2 years. Evan
  20. I buckle up everytime and feel very uneasy if I'm in a position where I can't do it. Parents taught me at least one thing. Evan
  21. I'd just get the parts from Advance in westerville. I go in there enough that the guys know me. They get 99% of my business. I'm not big on Goodyears truck tire line, but maybe they've changed since I last used them. Only reason I mention them is the goodyear store at schrock and westerville rd has hooked me up with free and cheap service on things like pressing bearings and mounting my 38.5" boggers so I own them at least a mention. I'll probably buy my dd corolla tires from them next time around as well. Have fun with the 4x4. I like trucks much better and they are always easier to work on since you don't have to jack them up as much and there much bigger and simpler. BTW don't buy to much into the crap about u-joints without a grease fitting being better. The grease fitting makes them last much longer if you grease it a couple times a year or when ever you get done playing in mud/water. Evan
  22. If your really sneaky you could probably change that U-joint without removing an axle, but its kinda tricky and I"ve only seen it done when someone said that it couldn't be done at a 4x4 camp out. Some hillbilly laid in the mud for awhile doing that one with basic tools. Yeah best thing to do is convert it to manual hubs asap. better for gas mileage and for wear on the front end parts. If its a fulltime 4wd t-case you can even convert it to part time with a kit. Also if its a fulltime 4wd bronco then you might not want to convert the hubs to manual locking ones because everything is still gonna spin except for the front wheels so your not really helping anything out unless you install the kit I mentioned in the t-case along with the manual hubs. To remove that big nut I usually use screw drivers to knock it loose and then use my fingers. They are not tightened like newer cars. At the most it might have a metal tab on a large washer that locks the nuts (yeah there are normally 2 of them.) On my D44 front axle which is what ford also used for their front ends I simple have 1 outer and 1 inner nut. They lock against each other on the threads to keep them from backing off. You set the wheel bearing torque by feel since your only gonna need inch lbs. I usually wait until I get the tire/wheel back on the truck before I do the final check of the torque and I just wiggle and adjust the nut until the wiggle is barely noticable. The reason I put the tire back on first is because I often don't get them tight enough from only the leverage the hub assembly gives me to "feel" the gap with. I might know some more stuff about it. Chevy, Dodge, and Ford shared alot of stuff made by Dana from the 60's up through the 80's when it comes to their driveline componets. It really makes finding used parts alot easier when you know a little about all 3 makes. Is the front end IFS or that twin beam thingy that ford used? I can't remember. Either way its still a D44 front end. they just used some of their imagination to hang it in there. Evan
  23. Most of the time its so easy we change them on trail rides. You remove the hub assy, bearings and then remove the axle and change it. On a fullsize truck that is normally the part of the axle shaft on the outer end (the part the hub attaches to) that drives the wheel. The "axle shaft" is usually considered the inner part of the shaft that goes into the housing and is driven by the differential gears. Very easy to change out and maybe what he really meant was it needs the U-joint replaced that connects them. Unless its driven offroad and/or abused in those ways the axle or half shafts don't usually get damaged. The U-joint fails with age and if it broke completely under power it could break the axleshaft hoops that hold the joint in place. Evan
  24. Hmm I did a cruise in the bahamas and it cost me under $1500 in January a year ago. That was awesome and weather in the 80-90's. I'm betting the price starts going up by the end of march though. It was with Royal Carribean. Great time and its all inclusive unless you want there cheap trinkets they try to sell in there shops. Outer banks is awesome as well. When I go I rent a house up in the 4x4 only area. You can't even get to the houses without walking or a 4x4. AWD is not enough. I pulled several AWD things off the road. Out of season I got an awesome 4000 sq foot beach house for less than $900. Of course then you got gas, food and all that so really the cruise comes out to being a great deal. I"m already talking about another with the wife for next winter. Evan
