  1. Hell yeah I'd make that thing into a coat and wear it everywhere. Then when the asshat hippies bitch at me I'll show them the scares. Evan
  2. I feel for you and your water bill when that happens Evan

    Road Rage

I like to let them keep coming over until they realise they are about 2 inches from my car. Its so funny watching the dumb asses nearly wreck to try not to hit me. I never get outta peoples way. I feel if they hit me then fuck them my cars paid for:-) Evan
  4. I always love when they pull out the light sabers. Evan
  5. Not sure on the `96 and newer trucks but the auto parts stores should sell a standard chevy 4x4 hub nut tool. Its a socket with a special design to fit back into the hub easily. I usually just use a screw driver because I"m a cheap ass. Evan
  6. yeah changing from a 5speed to an auto is a big change. Not sure of the gear ratios of each gear in each transmission since I'm more of a chevy guy, but its pretty likely that you made a 15% change in final gear ratio. Not sure if you thought of that when you swapped or not. So you might have to change your axle gear ratio to compensate. If you gotta change the gears anyway now is a great time to put in a set that will really make you go. What does the car have for gears now anyway? 3.55 to 1? Not familar with to many fords. Another tought to consider is torque multiplication adds around 2.4x the final gear ratio while excelerating. At least thats how it works in the 4x4 world. Evan

    What do you do?

I'm the evil copier repair dude for a company that services Ricoh and HP machines. Evan
  8. yeah that type of transmission crap has moved into the world of toyota as well. Its the only thing I don't like about my 2005 Tacoma with the 5sp auto. You can't really change the fluid yourself. A few people have posted detailed instructions for doing it, but to do it properly even requires you to hook it to a computer and run a transmission flush/refill program to put the transmission into the correct mode. You also have to fill it from the side of the case like a manual transmission. Oh well I guess thats the only thing I'll be having the dealer do. Evan
  9. Hey I need a Rich too. I almost went nuts today changing a header gasket. He stood around and made fun of me and Mike when we were building Mikes Samurai. Apparently we don't hit things hard enough with a sledge. Evan
  10. Wow 30K on the ring and pinions. I broke a front ring once, but it had +200K on it and 34" mud tires being turned by me 350. Oh and I was climbing a waterfall. Hehe ain't toyota tough. Evan
  11. Well to continue the hijack, but also help us understand how it does relate. If you had 2 tires with say 1" difference in size and you floored the brake pedal you'd have more stopping power on the smaller tire so it would lockup faster than the other and your ABS system would attempt to balance it out. The result would be very fun especially on a slippery surface. BTW the EBD is the computer that monitors and controls ABS they work together and any car with ABS has EBD its just that not all marketing guys have caught on and marketed it as an added feature. EBD could be a 2nd level of ABS computer as well. Maybe an extra sensitive one, but I'd be more willing to be its a marketing thing. Evan
  12. Hey I don't hang out with yal for the very reasons mentioned. I don't like hanging with a bunch of asshats that get us all kicked out all the time and its very hard to police that sort of thing. Also I gotta take some offence to the "Pickup" comments. Not everyone with a truck is a white trash POS. I'm a hillbilly and thats it. My trash stays in my truck bed. Never on the ground. Evan
  13. Not sure how accurate tire sizes are for normal passenger cars, but for trucks a 31" tall tire often measures up to 3 inches smaller depending on the manufactors. Could have been a different brand of tire and therefore a different true height. That could be enough to cause a speed difference between the two tires, but not sure how much of a difference would be required before the transaxle would slip or the sensors would get all weird. Evan
  14. That chopper's top speed is probably 180 anyway and thats probably while losing altitude. Cruising speed is probably 80 to 120 not real sure since I don't know the model. I liked living in the hills. Just take the truck up one of the old oil field roads and wait them out if you have to. I had one yelling alot once when I drove across the big ditches out at split rock, but I guess only Mike would know about split rock. Evan
  15. Not sure got a reply a couple days ago. was just gonna wait until you knew what you needed. Bo? Not sure. I suck very badly at remembering names, but if the dude remembers me then he must be a friend from something. I remember vehicles much better. Oh and addresses. Evan
  16. Let me drive it onto one of those cars you have that don't run. Evan
  17. I know of several caves between Athens and Veto ohio that probably see less than a hand full of people in 10 years time. The overgrowth is so severe that last time I tried to go through there on foot it was nearly impossible in the time I had. Very nice find though. BTW for some reason the USGS maps don't show 99% of all slopes correctly around southern/southeastern Ohio. Wish they did it would make 4x4 trail riding much easier. I guess it could be easily explained if you watch the amount of land slipping that occurs naturally in the forests. Not sure exactly how much of southeastern ohio was mined but from the reclaimation website it looks like just about 90% of it was reshaped by coal companies before our grand parents time. Then in the `70's the reclaimation act stopped most of that type of thing in ohio. I don't know much about southern ohio. care to give me more info even GPS coords in PM? I'm very interested in these sites in ohio. Evan
  18. hehe someones gonna have to let me know when their going down that way and I'll see if I can sneak my beast in. Looks kinda fun for central ohio. Lilred come over to ohio4x4.com and talk trucks with us. Maybe even hit some trails Evan
  19. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f185/EWhytsell/P1010003.jpg Got some 38.5" bogger tires for my yota, but I need to make sure I don't rub in the back when its all flexed out. Anyone know of anything I can drive onto around columbus to test it? The clubs RTI ramp is a long way from central ohio atm and I need something at least 35" tall. Already tried a center divider like on the highway, but wasn't enough. No I didn't do it on the highway, but that would be funny for a little while. Evan
  20. Ah damn well then bleed it good and I guess you get to visually see that the calipers move in and out. Then I doubt that yal are putting to much torque on the wheel bearings because they only need to be finger tight and you probably already know that. If its got ABS it could need to be bleed once by a dealer or some other facility that knows how to do a true ABS system bleed. I know that on the GM truck that I had you actually have to jumper some pins on the connector to get the whole system done correctly. That GM truck was about the most annoying vehicle I ever had as far as front breaks go. The darn thing would pull to the left 9 times out of 10 and then that remaining time it would pull to the right. Crazy UAW. Good luck. Evan
  21. Lol I had a job where I got to ride in a car with some dude that I can't even remember his name and the fucker was still calling me like a year later to hang out and stuff. We only did that project for 4 days too. It was insane and I'm pretty entroverted(sp?) and would rather sit at home. Dude was either gay or very bored. So yeah I know like 99% of people and have a few friends. Evan
  22. Sounds like a problem with the rubber hoses going from the calipers to the metal part of the line on the frame. Alot of GM trucks from 86 to around 98 had problems with the lines. Mainly they had problems with the lines getting weak and causing a spongy pedal, but in some cases the lines could get crushed or otherwise damaged. I think I'd replace them. Can't hurt anything and they probably need replaced anyway. Also alot of people spend time replacing calipers when its actually the those rubber lines that are the cause. I used to own a 1995 GMC 1500 so I've been through the rounds. Evan
  23. I agree go hang out and home depot. Maybe you'll even meet some new friends. J/K, Actually yeah, us old married dudes aren't much fun because all we talk about is retaining walls and doing the wifes flower beds all nice and stuff. The old friends weren't good friends if they ain't around anymore so its time to find new ones in the hobbies your in or if nothing else your friends will probably be your childrens friends parents. Evan

    murky waters

Thats a neat problem. If its not fed by a creek then it would be still water so there may not be alot that can be done. I see alot of ponds in the hay fields and they are usually dryed pretty good in the middle of summer and fill back up again through the wetter months. Why would you want to clear it anyway? Evan
  25. My wife likes to lock her keys in the car when she's visiting family in Parkerstucky, WV. Anyway slap her around a bit and she won't do that again. Evan
