  1. In the case of my military vehicles the VIN numbers aren't in any system either, they just go by the title at the DMV with no problems most of the time. Sometimes people have gotten the clerk who questions it and causes trouble. Also when purchased directly from the .gov they don't have a title only a FORM SF-97. That can get some strange looks. I'm my case I played dumb and acted like it was a Jeep truck which it does say Kaiser-Jeep on the papers so they moved forward. Not really helpful but you never know.
  2. Thanks guys. Weather is nice so I have a plan to build some shelving and work bench combos so if I finish my job early today I'll probably take my truck over to Lowe's and get materials. Since I do everything in sketchup I already have the details worked out and I'm pretty quick with woodworking so I'll have that roughed in in a few hours as I get time this week. I'll also likey be setting up my central work bench in the next few days.
  3. I'm totally for this and fed up with both sides bullshit.
  4. Because I don't want to pay them? Last time I got my insurance involved in something that wasn't my fault they ended up calling that a claim and penalizing me for it after the fact and I found out later when I questioned things so now I'm paranoid, idk. The car in question isn't important but I'd like it fixed. If it's gonna end up hurting me in any way I'll just not bother and I'll just take cash from the other guys and deal with it myself.
  5. Ok cool that's what I love about this forum.
  6. Thanks, so if I use my insurance do I end up paying somehow, higher premiums, deductable etc?
  7. I had a couple cars hit me a few weeks ago. Not serious damage so I have been patient and waited until the investigation got settled. Well now both at fault parties insurance have owned up and will pay 50/50 to get me fixed. Everyone is still wanting me to simply use my insurance to get fixed and they'll "figure it out". Is there any reason not to use my insurance? In the past I've had them consider that a claim and cause me trouble even when I wasn't at fault. I'm suspicious of this as my own insurance company had a claim filed before I got home from the accident and was also pushing me to just use them. I have state farm here. They wouldn't be my first choice but I'm in SC and didn't have much choice on the coast.
  8. In true Facebook marketplace fashion the pallet racking purchase fell through so I guess I'll build something ASAP.
  9. I finished the lighting Friday night. I'm at about 100 lumens per square foot and I'm very happy with that. I spent the weekend moving stuff from my storage into the garage. I don't have shelves yet but the local Sears store got liquidated and I contacted the manager so I should be picking up a bunch of their pallet racking this week so I'll have 12ft tall heavy duty shelves along the back wall.
  10. This guy Is pretty much how I trade, I just noticed him as I've been wanting to get back into it. He makes those huge gains because he uses offshore accounts which allow for very high (6x) leverage. I've spent a few of my slow days over the past months watching the markets and using a test account, but I feel lost, like returning to a video game I gave up years ago. Sucks because I've finally clawed my way out of financial ruin, seem to be getting better health wise, and since I'm running a small company now I've got the time and some money to give it a shot.
  11. Thats a pretty good safe set up. I really should be saving in long term stuff, but money is always stretched to thin, hoping to change that now that I've done a bunch of work on my credit, budgeting, etc.
  12. Does anyone use an offshore account? My brain doesn't work right sometimes and I just realized over the weekend while watching a guy do some trading that these days you can get around the 25K PDT rule by using an offshore account. I don't know why I never put it all together, I guess I was always thinking I'd have to be more serious about it, but LOL I'm self employed now and have the time to do pretty much anything I want. From what I can find there's some offshore trading companies based out of the Bahamas, and they don't allow US IP addresses or Bahamas bank accounts so I'd probably have to do the thing I was thinking about years ago and set up a foreign bank account and then VPN to spoof IP and link account to offshore trading platform. I wonder how legal that is because I'd prefer not to go to jail just yet, on my tiny amounts.
  13. I got the first lights up today, they are Hyperikon 4' LEDs. I picked them up black Friday on a great deal and have 16 in total so it should be very bright.
  14. Unfortunately I don't know much about long positions. I've been going to add some though. I was just looking at FDLSX as something that might be recovering after covid. I can't recommend it at this point yet as I haven't done any research beyond a quick look.
  15. I'm very interested in this especially CNC machining. Maybe even making a small business out of it. I got plenty of time and technical knowledge and been thinking of doing a complete DIY build after looking at several DIY kits.
  16. I've seen that stuff out on job sites didn't really think of it in this application but would work good except I really only have 6-7 outlet locations per circuit and two circuits going opposite directions around the building to reach all the points. Then just a few runs going up a single 3/4 EMT to feed the lights from the switch box. Should be pretty easy.
  17. Over the weekend I was able to get a 2 gauge cable pulled through my conduit about 100ft, install the breaker panel, and get a 20amp outlet installed. I also installed 2 ground rods and attached all the grounding to a built in UFER ground I created out of the concrete's rebar system before I poured the slab. The really hard work is done, now I'll be bending conduit, and pulling wiring inside for outlets and lights for a while. I have a shelving and work bench system designed in sketchup and I'll probably at least start on that very soon to keep stuff off the floor.
  18. I was reading about BP working to move their oil and gas to clean energy by some timeline a few weeks ago. I agree the writings on the wall. It's about time too as much as the redneck in me loves loud powerful shit.
  19. The stock was Global Star GSAT. It's probably not a good time to buy right now, I sold into some news but I'll be watching it's volitility and I'll probably trade it and short sell a few times over the next few weeks.
  20. I just cashed out of a position I became a bag holder for years ago since it spiked hundreds of percent on some recent news. I think I'll use the proceeds to professionally trade some things since it's surprise money that I can throw away. We should start a thread and you guys can inform me of what the noobs are gonna try to trend and I'll show you how to play it. I have the time but I don't usually pay attention to what the world is trying to do but killing sheep is a great way to make money for a day trader.
  21. I think the real reason would be to have a fully sperate set of accounting records. There's not a lot of liability protection needed in something like day trading. If your already involved in other investing such as real property under an LLC or in partnership with others then there is more benefit and then you can add stock investing to the LLC by just doing it linking accounts and reporting to IRS like anything else.
  22. I've thought about it but no real good reason to do it except to feed my ego at this stage.
  23. Is there something that's telling you that because from a purely technical charting perspective I'm gonna say the big moves are 95% over and it's going to settle to more or less what it was trading at before any of the shenanigans started. There's a lot of bag holders who will sell over time and who will likely sell towards the end of the year for tax write off if they are smart.
  24. My parents were talking with the companies over near Charlotte for a 12x24 and it was gonna be 5000-6000. Everywhere I checked when I was price shopping the bigger you went the better the comparative price. The small ones they have as models show you some pretty small tubing literally carports, the 30x40 ups that to 2"x3" all over.
  25. Sure 14500 installed. I did the evacuating myself and with covid going around my family won't come help so I did have to pay some guys to do that concrete which was 6000. I wanted to do a pole style myself and had it completely priced at the same cost and it would have taken me months to do. Here the pole building would have needed to be designed by an engineer for the wind loads so that was gonna be a lot more as well.
