  1. You do realize he's been working for me for the last year?
  2. Omega has been high on my list, as well as Hamilton. But, I'm very close to pulling the trigger on something I said previously (on this forum) that I wouldn't do. I just can't seem to pass up a an unbelievable deal. What is the CL888 in? Do tell?
  3. I have seen this and several other Oris models up close several times. The V.P. of Southern Beverage collects them. While they are beautiful, they are far to large for my personal needs. I wear a suit and tie to work every day and need a watch toslip underneath my shirt cuff. Just a little info to be aware of when spending a wad on a watch. make sure you think about when and where you will be wearing it. Functionality and Art sometimes do not mix well in life.
  4. *fixed* Please make sure your kids pay attention is English class. Spelling and Grammar are a terrible thing to waste. I know other posters can relate.
  5. You might look at Poljot. They are a Russian maker that purchased the Swiss caliber 3133 movement dies and tools to make them. I have had a Poljot Blue Angels for 7 years and have had no problems with it. Check eBay for these searching "Poljot 3133". http://www.fliegeruhren.ch/images/blueangels_black_3.jpg
  6. Dear Rich Rod, Thanks for 3 great years. Let me know if you need a reference. Your Pal, Tress
  7. I'm fairly sure this thread demonstrates that Dr. Bravo is quite a bit more logical and intelligent than your so called "true baller". Athough, I have seen him rock a solid 24k gold battleship anchor chain at the club.
  8. Please allow me to expound a bit: I agreed with everything that s15driftking has to say. MSRP on anything (watch, car, etc.) is a JOKE. You should never pay MSRP! Most here who know me, know that I'm thrifty and NEVER pay retail for anything. That being said, you should research everything you are wanting to purchase. In the case of watches there are a few easy things to check that make a BIG difference. 1. Case material. What kind of Stainless Steel do they use, and is it solid (or folded as in the case of the band links)? This will tell you a bit about the quality of manufacture, as well as how easily it will scratch and/or look good. In the case of my Invicta Grand Diver, the SS is a quality 316L, and after 2 years of daily abuse, it still looks almost new. 2. Crystal material. If it isn't a sapphire crystal, it will scratch relatively easily. I have had good luck with the new "flame fusion crystal". If you work with your hands, you don't want plastic. 3. Movement: "Swiss Movement" is usually considered the best option, but there are differences. Simply put, most Quartz movements/watches should be considered disposable. it is less expensive to replace the movement, than repair it. Mechanical Movements are generally judged by the number of Jewels, and require service on a regular basis. These are "old school" popular, with the old Swiss movements being highly sought after. Automatics are the most popular right now. Miyota (Japan) makes some workhorse movements that are cheap and accurate, but most prefer the Swiss autos. If you can find out the Movement name/model, you can google it and find out more than you would imagine about it. Complications (Chronograph, Repeater, Power reserve, Moonphase, Ani-Digital) add complexity, and therefore more to go wrong. Great website for research and pre-owed purchase or trade. It is predominately shopnbc brands, but there are grail brand sub-forums, and many hardcore collectors who love to share their wisdom: Watchgeeks.net
  9. Sorry guys, The next watch post is probably going to be the latest addition to the collection. I'm going for a grail watch for a smoking deal. I'm prolly gonna catch shit for it as I said I wouldn't do it in an earlier watch thread. P.S. It's not a Chronograph!
  10. OP Updated. Sale Pending on Swiss legend, all others sold.

  12. Fixed! Please punch your english teacher in the mouth for me.
  13. Let me clear this up for you. She's been planning this since she was 4 years old. The perfect day, the perfect man, the perfect dress, the perfect tux, the perfect hair, the perfect make-up, the perfect limo, the perfect church, the perfect vows, the perfect flowers, the perfect ring, the perfect pictures, the perfect reception venue, the perfect dinner, the perfect first dance, the perfect exit, the perfect honeymoon........... In summary: So your friends can get absolutely hammered on your dime!
  14. REMEMBER: The ring you purchase will depreciate at a much larger percentage than a car when you take it off of the property. You can always "up" the ring at an anniversary, but you will lose your ass on a monster rock if things don't happen work out. I'm not being negative, just pragmatic.

  18. 30 mins in......I'd rather be watching Golden Girls. What an abomination! and the first one to be WRONG!
  19. Just a little bit. My own race-port & stock twins = 11.83 @ 118 My Half bridge-port, GT35R, and custom manifold = Crushed by unlicensed, uninsured motorist. Almost every FD in Cbus has my work and/or my parts on it. 3 things: What Map sensor are you using? GM 3-bar? I would move the intake air temp sensor out from under the manifold, into the elbow or pipe from IC to Elbow, to avoid heat sinking. Why do you have your boost controlled vacuum tubed y-ed into 2 lines?
  20. Hwilli has be randomly asking me to fight him for at least 5 years. Maybe I'll give him his wish for Christmas?
