  4. "There is a math problem there, just a simple matter of watts vs amps vs volts. No possible way that the batteries capable of delivering the watts necessary to create 250HP alone from a 110 volt line in 10 minutes. No "standard" 110v outlet will charge a battery that size in 10min. That 15amp breaker will open faster than using a compressor and a Halogen work light at the same time. 1 HP = 745.699872 watts. 250 HP = 186250 watts. That is 180 Kilowatts of power. So the battery would need to be able to generate 180 kilowatts of power."

  7. The front and rear are identical. So use the one with the least shaft play. You should index it with the y-pipe before installing or it'll be a bitch when everything is just a bit off and already installed. I don't beleive the one next to it is the same, but he could not use it because the hard pipes would not line up for the return and oil system hardpipes. He would need to replumb the entire turbo set-up completely custom.

  15. It depends on the way in which the company classifies him as an employee ( i.e. contract, seasonal, temporary, etc.) , and the amount of hours he worked in the last calendar year, as to if he is eligible. My guess is that, as an intern, he was not making more than $15 an hour. Unemployment will only pay half of that. Servers make more than that, most far more. No, it isn't a career position, but it will pay bills. It will also allow him to research and interview during the day. As an employer and potential boss, it would show me A LOT to see a young person not sit back and compound our unemployment problems, while looking for what would amount to an entry level job.

  17. Unfortunately, as an intern, you were on the low end of the food chain. With the economy in shambles, and not looking to improve in the next year, many companies are forced to "trim" all non-essential operating expenses. My wife fell victim in October as well. There are jobs out there. you will most likely have to suck it up and work for less money, or in a job that is "beneath" you. It's unfortunate, but a reality. My company laid off ALL hourly employees in November. Because we are a seasonal facility, we will be hiring again in late March. But not nearly as many as before this economic cluster-fuck. My advice to you is get gainful employment as fast as you can. Even if it's a servers job. Then you will have an income, and still be able to find something that you are well-qualified for. As the adage goes: It's easier to find a job, when you already have a job! Good luck, Michael

  20. I am a department head, but due to the uncertainty of the economy we have laid off ALL hourly employees. Now ALL salaried managers must work 2 to 3 shifts a week January through March (we are closed these months) in the locker room/workout room cleaning and handling laundry, or at the entry gatehouse. Yesterday and today I pulled the 7am to 2pm locker room shift. Next Friday it's 7am to 1pm in the locker room, and Saturday 2:20pm to 10:30pm in the gatehouse. So much for my college degree and 20 years of management experience?
