  1. Those are notorious for collapsing. They'll clunk when the car is put into reverse or drive, vibrate and rattle at cruise and idle, and also feel like the engine is running really rough. Yup. Jack it up using a block and replace. If you get the part at the dealer they'll recommend the studs be replaced. Your call on those. I'd rate it a novice repair at best.
  2. I have a friend who asked to borrow a breaker bar and socket to take his lug nuts off of his 02 Explorer, yet he has no idea what socket size the lug nuts are. Anyone know off hand? Thanks in advance!
  3. I can't believe nobody caught the WE'RE in this phrase! Rucy. Ju got some splainin to do! TROOF! Oh, don't make me go there! *Pert*
  4. At least he is safety conscious. That fire extinguisher saved him $5 on his car insurance.

  6. Catalytic Converter. Your stock down-pipe has a pre-cat, and your stock midpipe is a cat converter. If you still have them, they are worth $ for the platinum inside.
  7. The liver of the judge who convicted me, some fava beans, and a nice Chianti.
  8. I'd definitely need to repaint the bathroom, and quite possibly the entire house, after that many. They are good, but I did clear a campus bus one morning after....
  9. I would not be interested in participating the cruise portion of this, for just that reason. We already have people who have committed that will instigate the lunacy.
  10. First 3 codes: Sorry! This code is not active. This promotion is active between 11/19/2006 and 1/15/2007.
  11. Oh my, those are tiny exhaust ports! Joe is right, EVERY set of turbos I've seen (at least 50 sets) have that same crack. It does not hurt their value. If those were BNR stage 3, I'd be all over them. That is IF I still had, say.... my motor, trans, and diff......
  12. So that's why you wear so many Birkenstocks and Tie-Dyes? In 1995 Stowe had 94 inches of snow fall in late January into early February. I decided to take off for a 10 day ski vacation. The afternoon I got there it started raining, and continued raining for 78 hours straight. Needless to say the skiing part of the trip was fuxored, so we took of to Montreal and Toronto and went to the underground clubs.
  13. I stand corrected. There are bracket classes. $600 winners payout for FWD quick eight.(4cyl) $150 winners payout for 14.99 or faster 4, 5, 6, 8 cylinder and 2 or 3 Rotor import FWD, AWD, or RWD. Most of us would be spending more than that in gas alone. Again, What a fucking joke.

  15. What a fucking joke. No rotary engines allowed, 4 cyl FWD only. And they call this "import face-off"? Might as well be called econobox face-off.
  16. Are your sure that isn't Zavier driving?
  17. I'd check with someone from a funeral home first, then an attorney. I know there are CDC (Center for Disease Control) regulations that require certain paperwork to be filled out. Boy am I glad i have a bit of tact and diplomacy. This thread could go downhill fast!
  18. I found mine from a private owner. She had immaculate and complete records of all services done to the vehicle in the 94k miles. This paid off when I had to have the motor rebuilt because of the sludge issue. If it were not for these records, and the Audi extended warranty of 8 years unlimited mileage, I would have paid over $3k for just that repair. I still have put over $2k in the car including a flex pipe, abs electronics, an igniter, plugs, and a maf sensor in the last 12 months. I do my own oil changes and those cost me $32 each due to the Mobil1 0W50 and special filter that are required. I also know I need at least one wheel bearing now, as I can hear it singing. Trust me and the others, unless you have a factory warranty, or the best extended coverage on the planet, this car is gonna quarter and dollar you to death as a daily driver. Don't think that I don't love my A4. It's still a PITA!
  19. Jeez, Not to beat a dead horse again but... You'd think that if it is one of the single most lifechanging descisions/commitments in your lifetime, that you'd know that fiance' refers to a man to whom a woman is engaged to be married. Fiancee' : a woman to whom a man is engaged to be married.
  20. Truth. Mileage is only one factor in this equation. Maintenace history, driving conditions, accidents, modifications, etc. all add up to wear and tear. If you are not prepared to spend at least $1000 in maintenance and repairs per year, you should not even consider buying another Audi that isn't under factory warranty.
  21. Anything with an gasoline engine in it.
