    TH 400 (usually) uses an electric switch to activate the kickdown. Requires a switch be mounted to the throttle bracket on your carb. Difrent length, so your crossmember will need to be modified. Long tail vs. short tail. Its heavier. Having some help would be good for lining it up.

    Most annoying thing? Parts that dont fit. Finding out that part that was suposed to be universal needs a fair amount of modification to fit. My car dosent exactly have a wide aftermarket though, so I guess this is to be expected.

    Never been there. I wonder if we could lease a parking lot at a vacant store (make the owner a lil retun on something that is otherwise just sitting there empty) and self police it. Im sure liability would need to be adressed, along with some other issues. Perhaps a CR donation for our own lot, lease it fri nights or something.

    Not sure of the year or engine. It was one of the compact pickup types, not anything like a bus or beetle. The only pics I have seen of it are from after the fire, IIRC it ha "Volkswagon" on the tailgate. Thanks

    Who needs to tub it? I doubt you will drive this other than in good weather, so just remove all the fiberglass between the tires, and call it done. You will be able to run a larger tire, and you get a weight savings. Win Win.

    Anyone on here have any experiance with VW trucks? My father in law used to have a VW pickup that was destryoed in a barn fire a few years back, looking to see how hard it would be to replace, what years had what options, and other general info on them. Thanks
