  1. Oh, I know the car is fast, I saw a couple of his runs at Kil-Kare, and he went by me doing pretty good. When I came up on him on 42, he was doing about 60, and I was pacing at about 70. I passed him without slowing, then had to slow down until the trucks a ways ahead of him got to a passing zone. He came back up and was weaving out to look around me, and when I passed the trucks, he went WOT and followed me, then shot around when I pulled back in. I tried, not out of wanting a race, just out of not wanting to be behind someone I just passed for going too slow, but he still went by me like I was standing still. But then he pulled over, and, yes, slowed down, so I passed him AGAIN, so I could be on my way home at the pace I felt like. I guess he got the message when I didn't slow down for him, cause he dropped off and I didn't see him again. 10:00 at night, after a long day, I just wanted to get home.
  2. Check your wiring, and make sure everything is going to the right places. If everything is good there, and it's not the fuses, then it has to be a relay. If it's not any of those, then it could possibly be a switch, but switches are pretty damn hard to fook up.
  3. Couldn't use the slicks, turns out the GTP crosslaces they're on rub on the calipers...but I still managed to beat my previous best by 0.4 on street tires. 14.353 @ 95.95 And at that, I still can't manage to truly get this thing to launch right. I got a damn good launch, but didn't roll into the throttle hard enough when the tires hooked, and the motor bogged slightly. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/GonneVille/0417082335.jpg
  4. Already got one, like I said. Vega Mach 1, very comfortable, except that I wear glasses, and it's hard getting them on and off in the helmet. But once they're on, they don't bother me at all. I do want to find a tinted shield for it though.
  5. Saw you at Kil-Kare, red Integra with a turbo and a Supra wing. Pretty nice car, actually. Passed you on 42 heading north after the track closed and you got all hot and bothered. Umm, dude, sometimes people just want to pass you cause you're moving slower than they want to go...if I wanted to race you, I'd have let you know in no uncertain terms.
  6. I'm gonna try to keep this inoffensive... I really resent the implication that you have to believe in God, or "a higher power" in order to be a moral person. I myself am an Atheist of, some might say, above average commitment. Yet, I have a strong sense of right and wrong, I always try to do the right thing, and I will usually go out of my way to help someone in need. I don't need the threat of eternal damnation hanging over my head to do what I think is right. As far as this teacher goes, yes, the collage should have come down. If you want your children to learn your religion, then your church more than likely offers Sunday School, and they can learn it there. The Ten Commandments, outside of the "I Am the Lord Thy God" one, is basically just a good set of guidelines to live your life by, but that one is certainly a strongly worded smack across the chops to any non-Judeo-Christians in the room. BUT, merely keeping a Bible on his desk is in no stretch of the imagination teaching or advocating religious beliefs. It's a book, it's on a desk, and it's closed. It's not going to leap up and wrestle your kid to the ground while speaking in tongues.
  7. I say keep the Grand Prix. You may end up putting some money into the electricals every now and then, and you will probably have to do another hub or two(easy DIY job, BTW), but that motor is easily good for another 100,000 miles or more, and it'll be a hell of a lot more fun to drive, not mention more comfortable and better looking than a Kia...
  8. I never said the thing was cool looking, but then again, the Ranger is a butt-ugly 15-year old body, the Colorado bugs me with the headlights below the turn signals, and the Dakota...let's just say I'm not fond of the new one... The Mahindra is definitely on the ugly side, but if it can live up to it's ratings, I might buy one myself.
  9. Anything but HAZMAT. Prefer flatbed. Will NOT do smoothbore tanker. Can also do non-CDL if the pay is good...
  10. Tell you what, I'll run him, and you can bask in vicarious coolness...
  11. Looking at GMC Ford and Dodge sites, it looks like the Canyon/Colorado wimps out at 1535lbs payload, and Ford and Dodge don't even have that information available on their sites, but from reviews Dodge is slightly higher, Ford slightly lower, and those are for the heaviest suspension available on the trucks... Drive train warranties Chevy/GMC=5yr/100kmiles Ford=5yr/60k Dodge=lifetime, but with a ton of escape clauses. Effective end of warranty=5years. So, the warranties are comparable, the payload is higher than the best that the American trucks can muster, and the motor is a torque monster, even if the hp numbers are low...as a work truck, this thing is better set-up than any of the American or Japanese offerings, and it's made by a company that has a history of building extremely good products. Their tractors easily compete with JD, Case, CAT, and Husqvarna. I don't see it taking off, but it could do pretty well if the company markets it right. I could also see the female market stepping up to buy one of these. It is kinda cute...
  12. That truck was toast before he hit the jump. Frame was pretty clearly bent already. BTW, I'm betting that was a hospital trip the next day...

  14. The last run, me and Steve were sitting in on the trunk edge to keep it from spinning again...The exhaust nearly blew my shoe off...
  15. Why do I suddenly feel the urge to throw on my old George Clinton albums?
  16. Dude, you brought one of those evil fucking things into your HOUSE? Talk about living in a box...my usual home away from home is small, but at least I get a good view... http://gonneville.smugmug.com/photos/88657746_EiF4s-M.jpg God I need a damn job. I need to get back out on the road.
  17. Umm, the other engines can pull it out, but I'm thinking they're gonna uncouple the rest of the train to avoid derailing cars in those...and the wheels on the locomotive had to have been prety well shot...I'm thinking they call in a recovery engine, hoist that bugger and replace those wheels on the spot...
  18. Went to the Pony, got a Vega Mach 1, in black rubbercoat. Looks good, feels better, and meets Snell M2005...decent ventilation, not that that's gonna matter in a car with no wind on the helmet... The other reason for going full faced is that I probably will be getting a bike this summer. I also like hitting the kart tracks every now and then, and I HATE putting on the stupid hair-net and wearing a helmet that's been on gods only know how many shit-stinking slobs...
  19. Went for a short test drive in one of the V6 ones today...It ain't an eight, but it does have decent pick-up, and the car itself is ROCK-solid... I'm gonna try to get a GT test drive tomorrow while the PA is in the shop.

  21. If it rains, I may still be in, if it's nice, I'll be at TriState Dragway with friends...
  22. Yah, I was two cars back in the left lane when you bugged out. I did one run, then went and got my money back. I did a 14.8, in a 14.2 car, and I was fighting the wheel halfway to the 330ft mark. The son of a bitch in the office gave me shit about there already being 7-second passes, the track was fine...so I told him one of those 7-second passes was a car with a 6-second dial-in...Then the old cunt at the gate gave me shit and opened her fucking booth door into the side of my car... If I didn't already have tickets for May 2, I wouldn't bother. Afetr the 2nd, I will NEVER be back to the Trails. I'd rather drive two hours down to Edgewater after work on Friday, than waste my entire fucking day for one shitty run. Fuck Trails, I just hope someone with sense buys the place when the current owner bails out.
