  1. Other pick either a bone stock Lancia Delta Integrale HF, or a Lancia Fulvia Rallye 1.6 HF (Coupe body) with a modern turbo i or flat 4. Don't really care which, just want something fast and responsive.
  2. One of the most idiotic articles I've ever read. I think someone took a horoscope article and replaced "Libra" with "Sports car!" and "Gemini" with "Luxury car!" or some such bullshit. The only thing that I think can be accurately asserted by what car you drive or buy is that anyone who buys a new Corolla is not the least bit exciting.
  3. John McConnell can get you into Double Eagle :lolguy: I just picked up golf last year but I've been lucky in that it comes somewhat naturally to me. Favorite courses and impressions: Minerva Park is great for beginners because they're relaxed and there's no sand and minimal water. It's not a particularly nice course so you won't feel bad playing slow. Also, because of the way the course is designed, you play 10 holes on the front instead of just 9. Great value. Turnberry GC in Pickerington is the gem of Columbus municipal courses. Absolutely the best kept public course in Cbus IMO. Good prices, too. Raymond is closest to where I live, and it's challenging to me but I'm not a huge fan. Winding Hollow is the first place I ever golfed and gat dayum it's difficult. Lots of trees will have you tearing your hair out, but it's beautiful and, in the summer, you can usually walk 9 for $10/person if you know how to talk to the cart boys after the pro leaves. Willow Run is the best deal in the area (near Pataskala). Weekdays after 1pm, all you can play with a cart for $20. On a good day, I've gotten 30 holes for $20. Not a very challenging course, but nice and open and it's usually very quiet. Great place to play if you're a beginner, since you can play just the holes that you want to practice. Kyber Run in Johnstown is the last course I played this past year. Being a relative beginner, this was INCREDIBLY challenging for me because I'd never played anywhere with such elevation changes. I caught on pretty quickly and really enjoyed my round there. Bridgeview GC is only 9 holes but it was enjoyable and easy to get to. Gahanna's 9-hole course is pretty much the same. Completely flat, which I don't really like, but it's easy to get a quick round in there.
  4. my old '59 Apache 3200. If I could've kept it I would love to restore the body, swap the swapped 327 with a 454...well if it's a fantasy build, lets go balls to the wall and say 572, and drop it to the ground.
  5. It's more about who you know. My irrelevant college degree and 40-50% better job performance than the next best guy at my job means nothing because the next best guy goes to church with the owner.
  6. What you want and what you need are apparently on completely different planets. You live in Ohio. A state famous for being flat and not getting a lot of weather that requires extra traction. What do you need extra space for? Is it worth the extra cost in tires and gas that AWD consumes? I guess my main questions is, are you really that thick that you think you are smarter than 1,000 locals advising you to stay away from particular cars/dealerships/impending financial hardships? Maybe this last time will finally convince you...it doesn't matter that you WANT something other than a Camry/Corolla/Civic/Accord. You NEED a Camry/Corolla/Civic/Accord. You in 5 years will be thanking you today for making the right choice. Just do it.
  7. You say what happened to working hard and keeping what you earn? I say that never existed in the way you mean it. This country didn't simply arrive at prosperity by people working hard and keeping what they earned. It happened through a couple hundred years of personal sacrifice for the greater good. If you're interested in finding some parallels to today in U.S. history, read into the Gilded Age. It's a time in our history that is not often taught in schools but shows a lot of similarity to today in terms of the issues the country was dealing with; increased political involvement by the population, massive leap forward in communication and transportation technologies (telegraph, railroad) combined with new technologies (Tesla and Edison), raging debates over the increasing gap between rich and poor as well as tax policy. I'm still surprised and disappointed that so many people misinterpret tiny little snippets of history (i.e. out-of-context quotes by U.S. historical figures, single events in history traced to a single decision) to validate an entire category of arguments rather than looking into long stretches of history, trying to analyze the overarching policies that made history what it is, and applying those lessons to today. But maybe that's just the spoiled brat with the history degree in me.
  8. Suspect's truck is a blue Titan, not Tundra. Also, I'm no forensic expert but many of those pullet holes in the Tacoma took enough paint off for me to suspect it was not handgun fire. Am I off base in suspecting that? If you're a large black man in California its probably not a bad idea to call in sick to work and stay indoors til they catch this dude.
  9. Considering the guy they're after got a 2 day suspension for an accidental discharge, what do you suppose the suspension will be for multiple magazines worth of intentional discharge at an innocent person(s) who were, presumably, never given any opportunity to give themselves up peacefully.
  10. I don't think any of us can accurately say how we would react when our life's work and dreams have been invalidated by the corruption and lies of others. I don't mean to justify these actions as they are in no way justifiable, but it sounds like this is not a man who has not sought recourse for perceived wrongs through other means. It seems like he believes he has, and actually may have been, punished for trying to do the right thing.
  11. Damn right. Pretty much anything Southern Tier is top notch. I'm not a hops fan (no IPAs for me) but they manage to pack a ton of hops in their beers without making them unbalanced. Love their Pumking in the fall as well. Another couple favorites of mine this winter have been: New Holland Dragon's Milk Bourbon Barrel Stout Elevator Brewing Co Winter Warmer Sam Smith Organic Lager (always refreshing) and as people have already mentioned: Batch 19 is going to be a new standard drink for me Old Rasputin Imperial Stout is an old standard
  12. I read according to military records, he's a rifle marksman and pistol expert. Anyone care to fill me in on the ranking system for firearm expertise in the military?
  13. LOL lock it up, looks like CR has some solid jackets fans
  14. My coworker gets me tix from a scalper for $40/50 apiece for lower bowl/Club level, looking to pay around that much or less for similar tix. Obvious preference for the side jackets shoot twice on. Let me know what ya got.
  15. I think the creative geniuses at the BMV have come up with the idea that FTW is meant to be read backwards as WTF, because LOLFTW was banned too.
  16. Specifically: SAMBO1 - dude just likes martial arts SOHUNG - Some Asian guy named Soh Ung is sad TBDB1TL - Seriously, why is OSU band pride wrong? XRAYTED - An x-ray tech named Ted Y0OH0O - Likes chocolate milk and thats just the last page
  17. I'll hand it to Tiberi, I don't like him as a politician but that's a very measured and intelligent response. I'm not a fan of Portman and Johnson going after individuals in their responses; in my mind, that's a radicalizing method of getting things done, and in part is the reason we're in the predicament that we are. Stivers and Kasich really impressed me with their responses as posted here.
  18. 1. I hate Art Modell for being a douchebag who campaigned for a new stadium then turned around and skipped town. I'm not from Cleveland and I hate all CLE sports. 2. The best players rarely make the best coaches, but I hope you're right. 3. That shit is ignorant. What do you mean NFL's not ready for a minority in the SB so soon??? Mike Tomlin's won one, Tony Dungy won one, plenty of minorities that AREN'T QB getting rings, why the fuck would the NFL care about the QB position exclusively? I'll give props to Flacco. Dude has done nothing but hustle for his whole career, gotten nothing but shit for it, and finally showed what he can do when the Ravens unloaded that shithead of an OC Cam Cameron. My roommate started being a UD Blue Hens fan because of Flacco saying he'd go places when he left Pitt. He won't let me hear the end of it now.
  19. My desire to see the 9ers win one is equaled only by my desire to see Ray Lewis leave on the highest of high notes. It's a toss up, but I still like the 9ers. I'm a Pats fan and I'm still pissed off.
  20. It's all perspective. Look how small the side pods are compared to the other cars.
  21. Did anyone else see the fail that was the Mercedes teaser ahead of their launch? http://en.espnf1.com/mercedes/motorsport/story/99754.html
  22. He was referring to CT, where in fact you can drive 80 for the most part. Speed traps are mostly located on the minor state routes rather than interstates.
  23. They're nice but for the dollar amount I think there's nicer looking/performing cars out there. I dont think you'd be unhappy with it at any rate.
