  1. I thought you couldn't carry in any establishment that served alcohol? I know there was a lot of progress made on allowing CHL as long as alcohol isn't consumed, but I don't know if/when that went into effect. Bravo if it did, a rare example of common sense legislature. Does Roosters have any signs up? Bdubs sucks anyways.
  2. You should've have a chat with their GM about opportunity cost and how that BRZ is going to end up costing him gross profit in accrued interest so he might as well just let it go at sticker or less.
  3. My friend lives in Tartan, says its a beautiful course. Never played it myself though.
  4. Well said. I think it comes down to the fact that in this day and age, the police rarely if ever have to deal with someone who can take them down. We saw it to a much lesser degree in the past few years with legal arguments over citizens filming police actions which most courts rightfully decided is within our rights, as police have no reasonable expectation of privacy, nor should privacy matter when they're carrying out their duties as officers of the law. While Dorner is a murderer, he is someone who could take them down by creating a demand for more stringent civilian oversight of police actions. The call to action may be a direct result of his deplorable actions, but while the ends will never justify the means, we may find that his actions led to noble ends. It's a moral issue that IMO no one should feel comfortable making concrete assertions about, and anyone who finds themselves unquestionably on one side or another (i.e. police did nothing wrong, Dorner was a nutjob OR Dorner did nothing wrong, police had it coming) should be treated with some measure of suspicion.
  5. More proof that nobody has any fucking idea what they're talking about. TONIGHT ON MSNBC, CHARRED REMAINS APPEAR TO HAVE TENTACLES, COULD CHRISTOPHER DORNER BE THE FIRST OF OUR CUTTLEFISH ALIEN OVERLORDS?
  6. I have a B.A. in such a field. It qualifies me for nothing other than arguing coherently on the internet :dumb:
  7. It may have done that brand new, but with high miles and without knowing the owner's dedication to maintenance...
  8. if youre law enforcement, this is exactly as you want it to happen. report a single gunshot indicating suicide set the scene of the crime on fire to destroy any evidence, burn body beyond the point where an autopsy can confirm the true cause of death make sure ammo goes off with no cameras around so they can claim gun battle, possible suicide, no remaining evidence. I'm not one to subscribe to conspiracy theories but this whole thing is going down WAY too conveniently in terms of eliminating law enforcement culpability.
  9. yea fucking right. this is a guy who has gone on a rampage to expose the LAPD and tarnish their name. YOU THINK HE'S GONNA GIVE THEM THE EASY OUT AND KILL HIMSELF? No he's going to suicide by cop if anything, run out guns-a-blazing and make law enforcement bring him down. not attacking you, just expressing my thoughts on what is really going to happen
  10. I would be less surprised if he was actually using a barrett .50 and they called it an AK-47
  11. Tell him to get a FIAT X 1/9 that's been beat to shit and drop a k20a2 in it. No one said it had to be reliable. I'm 300lbs and 6'3" and I can cram into an X 1/9.
  12. IT WASN'T FUNNY TO ME MKAY. Can anyone else remember a time when police asked news choppers to back off? Hell, if it wasn't for news choppers we wouldn't have any video of what happened in the North Hollywood bank robbery, and those guys SHOT AT THE NEWS CHOPPERS.
  13. For 3 grand its not exactly gonna leave him many options other than a rattle trap POS. But as was posted above, something with an LS1 is probably his only option.
  14. http://media.caranddriver.com/images/10q1/324552/2009-bmw-135i-coupe-photo-324633-s-1280x782.jpg I'll have to check when I talk to him, but I'm pretty sure my folks got the 135is. Can't remember if its the twin or single turbo straight six, but I think it's the twin turbo n54 motor. Drive one, you'll be surprised. I was amazed at how strong the motor pulled in 6th gear from 55mph. IMO it's the most fun I've had in a BMW since the E46 M3. Not that the E92 is a slouch, but the E36/46 were much wilder, less refined, and more fun than the new generation of M cars.
  15. Cops are asking news choppers to back off for safety aka don't want any evidence that they're gonna kill the guy when he tries to surrender
  16. You're right, but ME was more the consumer-marketed one, right? I think I remember 2000 on school computers around the same time and hated it but I don't honestly remember. Still hated ME either way.
  17. Windows 3.11 Awesome Windows 95 Terrible Windows 98 Awesome Windows 2000/ME Terrible Windows XP Awesome Windows Vista Terrible Windows 7 Awesome Windows 8 Terrible Yeah, I think I'll wait for the next one.
  18. But a PR nightmare in the sense of one that will never ever go away. I was just starting school during the 1992 riots, but I know the name Rodney King. Our children will know the name Rodney King. Their children will know Rodney King. This whole "I'm not Chris Dorner, don't shoot me" will become synonymous with police brutality and corruption for years. It will ensure that the seeds of mistrust are sown every generation, and will hopefully serve as a reminder that we must keep a vigilant eye on those who vigilantly watch us. The difference between Dorner and King is that this isn't a racial thing, it's not a socioeconomic thing, its a corruption thing. For the last 10-20 years, that has been the divisive problem in our country. Corruption in politics, corruption in business, and now the spotlight is on corruption in the most important of aspects; enforcing the laws of our country.
  19. Cayman is decent but it pisses me off that it was intentionally under-engineered. When it initially was put together, it completely out-performed the 911, so they trimmed everything back. My dad considered the Cayman S when he was getting a new car, then drove an Evora and a BMW 1M. He woulda got the 1M but the dealer he was working with wanted $15k over sticker :lolguy: ended up with a manual 135i because he didn't want to spend $70k on a fat Lotus.
  20. My buddy does a Natty Open every year; 2 man scramble, and for each beer your team consumes you knock 1 stroke off your score. Every year there's a "pro" team that only drinks a half dozen beers trying to stay sober and posts a 70something. The winners usually post in the 50s, shooting an 80something and polishing off a 30 rack of Natty light. And yes, Natty is the only beer you can use. Thats the challenge.
