  1. BUMP. they got the fucker. http://www2.nbc4i.com/news/2012/aug/15/3/man-suspected-killling-ashland-co-mom-arrested-ar-1137947/
  2. I've been saying for a while (aka since that Top Gear episode) that our standards need to mimick those of scandanavian nations... high price, major time commitment, and rigid testing standards.
  3. While I often enjoy and share your cynicism, I do think this is a valid test. As a local news junkie, I can't count the number of times I read about fatal drunk driver head-on collisions where one driver went slightly left of center. Now, that would invariably happen with higher speeds involved, but I still think this is a very good test for that kind of danger.
  4. When I went to vegas, I went for less than 24 hours, but here's my advice: -Collect all the hooker cards. You'll know what I mean when you get there. They're hilarious. -In-n-Out burger. -Cactus Cooler...shit is liquid crack and amazing when added to liquor. -Don't stay too long at one place. I typically would get $50 in chips to each place we stopped, play until the money was gone or for an hour or less, then cash out and on to the next casino. -Walk. If you're fat, you can use the exercise. If you're not, it's way easier to enjoy the strip when you can just duck in and out of wherever you want not worrying about traffic. -I preferred to gamble during the day when the table minimums are low, then in the evening I'd either watch people at the high rollers tables lose their money, or I'd find a nice video poker terminal at a bar and tell the bartender to keep the drinks coming. Drinks are free when you're gaming, even at video terminals, so just tip them decently and they'll keep you nice and sauced.
  5. holy fuck :lolguy::lolguy::lolguy::lolguy:
  6. Best thing you can do is talk to a professional. People spend years and years on degrees to help you find out how you can deal with your issues, its not just a scam. I will, however, say that I think the pharmaceutical industry in this regard is kinda fucky, so beware of anyone whose first instinct is to get you on meds.
  7. ive loved Huntington after awful experience with Bank of America. just closed my BoA account recently, what a great feel EDIT: I've also heard from a customer how much he loves CSBank. Said the 7 days a week thing is awesome but they're insanely by-the-book and inflexible on "mishaps". His words.
  8. FUCK 1 off (#17). Still gonna get me some of that goodness.
  9. LOL at someone who claims to be an experienced racer getting mad that a race car broke. Thats pretty much the only thing race cars do with any consistency. Sucks her arm got mangled, but take a little personal responsibility. Shit happens, move on.
  10. bbq is the noblest cause one can support
  11. I don't know how long your father has, but you need to try to focus on the good through this. Not just for your sake, but for your mom's and your family's. Your father is ready, and likely has felt ready internally, to die. It's not morose, it's not sad. He is truly happy with the life he lived, he has accomplished everything he set out to accomplish. He has a loving, happy family and that's all any man strives to create. He has given this earth everything he can, and his reward is to see the son he lost too early. Those are the best words I can try to give you to tell your mom.
  12. goddamn you. we ALMOST made it off the first page with that. also, hard to remember the whole quote but it fits in well with this board: ...I drive cars and ride bikes to develop new skills, then practice them. I drive to participate in a landscape and, occasionally, to scare myself. - Wes Siler, Jalopnik writer
  13. Say what you mean, mean what you say, then do it. now your turn.
  14. I was thinking that, but figured it wouldn't have to be an M if that was the case. Either way, I think an e39 540 should be able to be had in that price range. Comfortable, powerful, fun cars.
  15. Anything in that price range for an E36 M3 is going to cost you a LOT of money in the near future. Don't know as much about the E46 or the E39 540.
  16. Sitting on the east side next to i70, looking west, I see a large plume of smoke slowly rising. Just saw a helicopter hauling ass away from it, possibly a med flight? I see nothing on nbc4i.com or dispatch.com about it yet, anyone in the area?
  17. LOL at the apologists in this thread. "OTHER THAN THE GLARINGLY ILLEGAL THING HE DID, what did he do??? NOTHING ILLEGAL." :lolguy: I would hope CCW and open carry proponents would be the FIRST to jump down this idiot's throat for abusing his right in an illegal and wholly inappropriate way. It is not difficult to obtain CCW. It is not difficult to open carry. He made it difficult for himself, and no one else --not the gub'mint, not the movie theater, no one-- is to blame.
  18. GET OUT OF HERE WITH YOUR COMMON SENSE POSTING ASS. Oh a 50% power increase? Pshaw, that's nothing. A theoretical build of a theoretical car using theoretical math whose properties are known only to me would theoretically yield a 400% HP boost at a cost of only 5 wampum. You're a chump for doing what you're doing.
  19. my coworker loves his S3 and he's like jones, getting whatever's latest and greatest.
  20. GL selling the 870. Everyone in ohio must have a shotgun right now because no one's biting on mine.
  21. Ask about Mopar performance parts. I'd say that this 1.4T tops out a bit above 200, but most of those seem to just be ECU+CAI+Exhaust.
  22. This motor definitely has some tuning room.

    http://500madness.com/500madness/forums/showthread.php?1190-ABARTH-Engine-Module-Comparison-Dyno#.UB6QgU1lQfw

Some dyno info comparing cars with a couple different engine control modules, and other mods (CAI, exhaust). With minor stuff like that, you're in the 200+ hp range.

Looking at Abarth or Dodge Dart?
