  1. For 21+ fans, the best way to see a Crew game starts at Fado at easton. For $25 you get a game ticket, a ride to the game on their bus, and all the beer you can drink, and a ride back to Easton. At least thats what it was last year, I havent been in a while. Last game I went to they had a keg of Koenig beer (dont know how to umlat on this keyboard) :megusta:
  2. This link is not my auction, and is for reference only. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990s-Bass-Case-Alvarez-/400283811619?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item5d32c63f23#ht_1535wt_1163 48" x 14" interior dimensions, all the latches work perfectly. I used it to haul around my Musicman Stingray 5 which recently went to a friend. Haven't played in forever, this has been collecting dust. Exterior is that of a well made 1990s hard shell case; its scuffed and has some sticker residue, but mostly looks very good and there are no dents. I found 2 instrument cables in it, you can have those too. $50obo come get it. EDIT: one of the cables is missing a plug, hope that's not a dealbreaker :dumb:
  3. I did this for my grad party. My dad and uncles and I got up at 3am to start the pit fire. We did it American/Cuban style, and by noon people had arrived to some of the most delicious pig I've ever tried. I think my parents got the hog at Carfagnas. It was 110lbs and we had about 20 left over after the party. 6 years later and people still talk about it.
  4. mod: everyone demod: no one sit back and watch the chaos
  5. This + twistedfocus's advice is exactly what I'm looking for. TY! edit: OMG HOW DID I FORGET ABOUT VESPA IM TOTALLY GONNA GET ONE WITH FLOWERS AND HANDLEBAR TASSLES AND A BASKET SO MY MALTE-POO CAN RIDE WITH ME
  6. I'm on CL, cycletrader, et al. There's almost too much to choose from, ranging in age from early 80s to late 2000s with lots of miles and/or salvage title. Other friends have said "make sure its nothing too huge" "make sure its still got rubber on the tires" "make sure you get something with [x y or z feature]".
  7. I think a cruiser would probably be better/safer than a sport bike for my skill level. When I was on my uncle's I felt very comfortable getting up to speed and everything but I didnt head out on the main roads or do much turning. I know there's a lot to learn and that overconfidence will be deadly, so thats why I'm turning to CR for advice.
  8. Doesn't need to be newer or anything. Hell, something with some damage might even be better as I'll probably fuck up at least once.
  9. School me. I got bit by the bug last September when I got on my uncles' BMW 650cc for all of 3 minutes. I need to get some miles/hours on a bike to get my learn on, but I don't want to spend a mint to do it. I also am a big guy (6'3" 280lbs) so I'm not gonna get anything I'll look stupid on. Lets say for shits and giggles I can spend up to $2000 on a bike that I'll likely get rid of after the summer, since I'll want to get a real bike next year once I'm experienced. Advice for someone in my position?
  10. relevant http://i.imgur.com/NGcUN.jpg saw that yesterday, too true.
  11. This is the least entertaining episode of Maury I've ever watched. Re: neighbors, I'd go in to your office and let them know that you're trying to be respectful neighbors and that you're sick of the harassment. Then I'd go to the local police office, ask to speak to an officer about your options. It makes a big difference to them whether you're A) the type of psycho who calls the police out to their apt. cause some young ragamuffins are making a racket or B) the type of person who goes to them to ask how you can peacefully resolve this. Be sure to let the police know that you're feeling harassed by the number of notes (from the resident) and calls (from the office on behalf of the resident) you've received. Do all you can to make the police not have to work really hard, and you never know they might have some really good insight for you.
  12. This. I did my open water, wreck, deep, night, and boat diving certs in the Caribbean. Only things I did in Ohio were classes, emergency first responder training, and rescue diver cert at the quarries.
  13. +1 on avoiding the Nordecke, unless you want them to get a real feel for the crowd. For your kid's sake, you might want to spring for the seats on the west side so they're not getting blinded when the sun sets.
  14. I went to a Victory Brewing party before the Boston Beer Convention a few years back. 100% free to invitees (I was working at a liquor store at the time) and they had 2 ferkins (hop devil and prima pils) and 6 taps as well as a full german buffet. Cellar temperature > Ice cold, for good beer at least. Cold beer just freezes your taste buds and doesnt allow the flavor to come out.
  15. fastest way to cool beer down is to put cans/bottles in a bucket/cooler with ice, water, and salt. SCIENCE!!!
  16. Dive locations for wreck diving? I've done several in the British Virgin Islands. -The Rhone is where they filmed "The Deep" (remember Jacqueline Bisset?) Good coral reef dive, and its shallow so you get a good long dive. -Near there is also the Chikuzin, a Japanese refrigerator ship a mile in open water with nothing around it and down about 85 feet. Only about a 30 or 40 minute dive and its somewhat difficult to navigate. -There's also a small airplane at the bottom somewhere that makes a pretty cool night dive. Very creepy swimming thru the aisle in complete silence 40 feet down. I've also heard Cayman Islands are amazing but I've never been. Around Ohio there's....nothing.
  17. I believe Discover has an 18mo/0% balance transfer promo going on right now. Pay it off ASAP to save your good credit. Sacrifice everything for the CC now so you dont have to sacrifice later.
  18. any competition without the persistent risk of being engulfed in a ball of fire isn't worth partaking in.
  19. Apartment dweller here. We have Brownsfan McDoorslam, OSU Douches, Slutzilla, and the Homosex
  20. I like this conversation as well, I think in a better setting it'd make a good "Used Car Buying Guide" to counter those bullshit guides you see on yahoo autos and edmunds like "NEVER BRING YOUR TRADE WITH YOU" etc etc
  21. If you enjoy driving it and you're happy with it, then its the right decision and don't let anyone tell you differently. I for one love the 370. Sexy ass car.
  22. You're looking at it from a seller's perspective. Look at it from the buyer's. 100k worth of miles is a lot of wear and tear. It certainly is possible to have a very nice car at 100k but its very unlikely. On average, that'll be around 7-10 years worth of usage that may include accidents that were unreported, dings that went unnoticed, maintenance issues overlooked in the interest of saving money, etc. More likely than not, a 100k mile car will be in rough or fair condition. The onus is on the seller to prove that it is somehow more worthy of a "very good" rating and it takes more than just "its in very good condition for its age" to prove that to me.
  23. subaru owners tend to be fiercely loyal. drives the values up. same with Wranglers and GTIs
  24. Not to rain on your parade or anything, but a car with 140k is never considered "Very Good". Nor is it even considered "Good". There's no such thing as "good for its age/mileage". Anything over 100k miles is "rough" or "fair". Also KBB doesn't make offers on cars, your car is worth what someone is willing to pay you for it. KBB is just a general pricing guide, so who knows maybe your car is really worth $10k.
  25. if you can, document all the hours you worked on his car, and show that based on what you charged him and how much work you put in, you were cutting him a good deal on labor and that your work was satisfactory to the agreed price and job. your claim must be theft of services, as he agreed to pay you for work that was completed and he failed to pay you. its that simple, and the judge should agree.
