  1. I look to the middle of the 1950s, where Christianity was forced into a prominent role in the U.S. government as a reactionary effect to the USSR's complete elimination of religion from their society. In God We Trust did not regularly appear on paper currency until it was adopted as the motto of the U.S. in 1956 (it was previously E Pluribus Unum, much more in line with the Constitution). Under God was inserted into the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954.
  2. FTFY. If you're looking to blame anyone, blame McCarthyism and the Red Scare for the policies you (group statement, not just targeted at Hal) credit the current government for upholding.
  3. stay away from kenwood dash units. i've had nothing but troubles in the past with them.
  4. because of this, +2 for using cell phone
  5. PM DJ (Orion) he's good at this sort of thing
  6. Nowhere in that proposal does it say you have to leave it on your car, it just says they must sell it to you with that on there. Just take it off.
  7. Never been too big a fan on the HHR, I dont think they get the gas mileage that the car/engine size might indicate. That mileage and price sends up massive red flags in my head about accident history, that seems a bit low. Or maybe they've just had it on the lot forever. We've taken a few in on trade though and they rarely ever need anything more than tires/brakes done, they usually seem to be well taken care of by their owners.
  8. Windows 3.11 - Awesome Windows 95 - Terrible Windows 98 - Awesome Windows 2000/ME - Terrible Windows XP - Awesome Windows Vista - Terrible Windows 7 - Awesome Windows 8 - ????? I'll wait for the next one. Special shout out to windows NT for being the worst ever.
  9. ive been wanting to hear from someone who uses this a lot. do you buy stuff on there? do you study the general sale prices and use that, or is it just a crapshoot for bidding?
  10. That's not a bad idea, revolving credit is something lenders like to see; basically to them it says "i trust myself to make responsible financial decisions"
  11. if your credit is already in the 700 range, you'd be better off showing some consistency. when you're buying a house, they always say do not do ANYTHING that might raise a red flag to a financier. that includes trying to apply for auto finance, credit cards, etc. I'm no expert but I'd also assume that means you don't want to start messing around trying to "game" the system for an extra 10 made-up credit points.
  12. This. Look into flying out of Dayton, it saved my ex a shitton of money when she used to fly out here to visit.
  13. this is certainly a thought...i will talk this over with the roommate
  14. Ricer math is HP/Liter, genius. HP/LB (or LB/HP, whichever you prefer) is racing math. Thats why [non Danny Bahar] Lotuses are awesome track cars.
  15. A while ago my dad was driving my mom's RX300, got rear-ended by an early 90s Golf...guy claimed he never even touched the brakes as he was searching for something in his car, his forehead shattered the windshield and....the RX had 5 scratches on the rear bumper while the Golf was a total loss. These newer generation bumpers must be made of adamantium or something.
  16. I like Monopoly because it takes me to a world where the rich land owners are just as likely as anyone else to lose their money and go to jail.
  17. to the people eating canes and saying its bland....were you using the sauce? that shit is essential. straight up chicken for chicken, popeye's spicy tenders are better but cane's sauce is the trump card. the battle for the side i prefer between cane's texas toast and popeye's jambalaya is yet to be resolved
  18. I got checkmated on the internet, I'd better go realign my opinions and personal tastes. also, I've had Fazoli's and IMO it tastes terrible. I guess my opinion is wrong though, since someone I've never met before thinks so.
  19. I eat seasoning by the pound, mafucka. This place on broad you speak of, LJ, I shall try it...I work quite closeby and chicken parm is my 2nd favorite, 2nd only to veal parm.
  20. So....its bland, and you don't like it, but they season it to make it not bland and....there's something wrong with that too? Your logic baffles me. Either way, I'm in no way saying Piada is the best Italian around, but show me somewhere else you can go and get a whole mess of Italian food in less than 10 minutes that keeps you full all day. I enjoy it for what it is.
  21. Not sure if trolling, or legitimately retarded. worst kept secret in american television history.
  22. Strangely enough, that loaner has brought in a few buyers who never would've known about FIAT :lolguy:
  23. what about when clowns get raped?
  24. from what I know he retired and started a company to furnish the Afghan war effort with translators. Government gave him a $750m contract. Not too hard to buy all that curb candy with a contract like that. I sold him a FIAT to lend out to customers when their car is in the shop LOL. That Countach had just been detailed when I visited the shop. Pictures do not do the paint justice, nor can they show off the porcelain-white interior. That album also doesn't have his 360 and F430 race cars. http://thestudio47.com/index.php/gallery/around-the-shop/ EDIT: Also, last time I was at the shop, they had a Carrera GT out front...for sale
  25. But just think, if he hadn't come running to tell CR first, you wouldn't have anything to be outraged about!
