  1. Gotta sell some more before its in my budget. I've got a working car now, and with recent tickets there's no way I'd afford insurance.
  2. Two Wongs don't make a Wright.
  3. As a half-Portuguese person, I resent this grossly inaccurate joke. Portuguese drink in the streets, not in bars. :gabe:
  4. Holy shit Your son needs a new goddamn hobby.
  5. As a salesman, I know more than anyone that a good review is hard to come by. Its as much about doing DJ a big favor since he did one for me.
  6. So as some of the senior members may have seen, DJ (Orion) recently built me a computer. To those who didn't know, and are into cool desktop PCs (Mac crowd GTFO), DJ is a great option. I decided to stop buying retail PC's and laptops after 2 consecutive disasters with HP. I posted here about getting info on a new build and DJ contacted me immediately. I'd known him from his days working at Verizon where he also got me some good phone deals, so I was comfortable working with him from the start. He sent over a "portfolio" of sorts, showing off his work and offering a way-over-the-top option that he'd already built but it was out of my price range. Still, I was impressed with his ability to build a ridiculous machine, and it gave me more confidence in hearing how genuinely excited he was at the prospect of building another machine, although slightly more budget friendly. If you want the specs of the machine, I'll let DJ chime in with it or you can find his thread on it in the Senior Members Area. Anyways, we went back and forth on what we were going to use for a few weeks. DJ gave me a number of options and let me know how any particular configuration could be modified to save money (i.e. using AMD and going with a basic HDD, both options I exercised). Once we agreed on everything, I stopped by his work last Tuesday to go over the order and all specs, give him money with which to purchase the awesomeness, and set up a time to build the damn thing. Clicked "confirm order" on Tuesday night, and UPS had it at his office Friday. Friday night we met back at his work with a rich bounty of computer parts, rockin' tunes, and delicious fast food. The case we ordered had a broken bit to it but instead of sending it back and waiting, Gorilla Glue solves everything. Next step was unboxing everything, laying it out, harvesting the DVD drive from my old tower, and getting to work. An aside here; I built my old tower myself. It was a super-budget build, only about $500, and it sucks. I know nothing about building computers properly, so there's dust everywhere and wires look like a tangled mass of horror. In this new build, while he worked DJ was very methodical and pointed out every little thing he did. I can firmly say that I am a terrible teacher and when I'm doing something that requires my concentration I'm completely incapable of talking to people. I doubt I'd be able to do everything he did perfectly, but hearing him talk about little steps like tips on where to put each drive and how best to hide the wires showed me that he takes pride in his work. Once everything was put together, we hooked up to a monitor for the most difficult and treacherous part of the build; pressing the I/0 button for the first time. It worked! Probably due to the fact that it's a simple build, but things never work that easily. We spent about 30 minutes setting up the machine, packed up all our stuff, and I was on my way home to apply all new Windows updates. To give you perspective on my expectations, I figured it'd be about 2 hours to download and install everything. It finished in 40 minutes. Needless to say, I'm incredibly happy with money well spent and anyone considering a customer PC build should contact DJ. He's easy to work with, and if you're not an expert on such things he's an invaluable resource in terms of product knowledge that'll get you a good system. He saved me a lot of money, headaches, and countless hours I would've had to spend researching each component that went into my PC. :megusta: For the teal deer crew: -DJ, MOTHAFUCKA, DO YOU CONSULT HIM? -He gon' save you $$$ on a badass PC -He looks like Silent Bob
  7. 830-6 today. can't believe we already saw snow. more importantly, there's no good sports on.
  8. Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas can be had for cheap these days. Both have excellent DLCs.
  9. Good news for Browns fans!! http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7511012/cleveland-browns-tap-brad-childress-offensive-coordinator Did I say good? I meant disastrous.
  10. I'm with you there. I think Obama himself believed there was something he could do, not having been part of a political machine for years and years, but in the end its easier for him to be absorbed by the monster rather than fight it.
  11. EDIT getting my facts straight For some reason I was thinking ACTA was the thing Lamar Smith has on the backburner. It is not. What he does have is this pile of trash: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d112:h.r.1981: Trying to hide data-storing mandates under the guise of "Protecting Children from Internet Pornographers"
  12. I made a post in the Megaupload thread about it and then that thread died
  13. http://www.jacketscannon.com/2012/1/27/2751924/breaking-j-p-mac-sends-letter-to-season-ticket-holders An interesting response.
  14. probably has something to do with: http://backdoorlife.files.wordpress.com/2007/08/australia.jpg
  15. This has already been noticed: http://www2.nbc4i.com/news/2012/jan/25/cbj-fans-plan-protest-saturday-nationwide-ar-909756/
  16. The problem is between injuries and suspensions Savard has been getting a ridiculous amount of playing time. I've seen better defensive play out of the worst players in Hockey East (NCAA). Pretty much all of Howson's contracts are what's keeping this team down. I don't understand it at all. CBJ spends the 6th most money in the NHL on contracts and has zilch to show for it. That is in no way the coaches fault, because the money is spent on second and third tier players.
  17. :megusta: this post. #1 priority should be finding a replacement for Mase, and I think Vermette is good trade bait. He scores nothing, gets minimal assists here because too much is asked of him. He's a 3rd line faceoff expert anywhere else, which CBJ has a long history of placing too much importance on (Michael Handzus anyone?)
  18. But a rolling stone gathers no sharp tools in the belfry
  19. I'm pretty sure in the 2010 Olympics that Rick Nash was a top-liner with Crosby and Iginla. He'd be the big fish in any pond.
  20. Howson's 1 winning season was due to Hitchcock, wasn't it? Someone who was technically under contract for the Jackets this year, until Howson's brilliant ass sent him to STL where, surprise surprise, he's fucking winning! I liked Arniel initially but he fractured the locker room, and wasn't professional. Hitch was the best chance they had to improve and they shipped him. Howson is a fucking moron.
  21. I didn't say it would solve piracy or it'd be good for the market, but it would prevent the amount of frivolous litigation the RIAA pursues.
