  1. You sir, want some shitty weather. Weather like that would turn our winter months into an equally useless "rainy season". We're going to get percipitation int he winter, period. I don't understand how 50 and raining is better then freezing and snowing.
  2. I your tailpipe. But yeah, no global warming my ass. It aint all the fault of mankind, but it's pimpin in full effect. Remember Christmas snow in the 80s?
  3. Maybe in the thirties. I think you're thinking of stoppers, aka nuts, etc. Those guys are using Cams/Camalots/Freinds. Also known as a zipper if they're placed poorly.
  4. A Bivy is short for Bivouac, meaning an improvised camp in which to spend the night. Good for beginning the next day without loosing what ground you've gained. http://www.summitpost.org/images/original/253271.JPG
  5. http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2796/catvj6.jpg Millet Everest's, the warmest boots known to man, outside of NASA....I'm speaking literally. I also got The Eiger Sanction on DVD, a bigass hard drive, a sweater and some cash.
  6. capital city glass, though it's been 8 years since I've been there.
  7. Kids? My need for a wagon has nothing to do with muh'boy. I just have a lot of crap to haul around, especially on vacations.
  8. Fear not, you have options: AWD 300hp V70 R http://www.edmunds.com/media/reviews/top10/05.haunting/05.volvo.v70r.500.jpg Saab 9-2 aero, WRX guts and aftermarket, looks better, too. http://www.carpw.com/pictures/saab/9-2X_Aero_2006_1_m.jpg See also, E55 AMG wagon, s4 and s6 wagons, and best of all: Audi RS 6 Avant Plus. 473hp, 0-60 4.5 seconds. http://autojunkie.blogspot.com/ABT%20RS6.jpg Life doesn't end at family, it begins. You'll need something to haul crap, might as well haul ass, too.
  9. Thanks for raising the bar, jackass. Congrats!
  10. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30676 Drift like no other.
  11. about $180,000 Rockets, plain and simple. Get a liscense to buy big model rockets, and you can buy. The biggest I've heard of was 1500lb thrust, and it was used by the Mythbusters. A pair strapped on an impalla fired in sequence shot the car across the flats and smoked the chase helicopter. For a 7 sec ET, you'll want a 6 sec burn, or real good brakes...and retros.
  12. They're offering special year end deals on them as we speak. You could get up to $15,000 knocked off the sticker price!
  13. Debt. Plain and simple. I don;t personally remember being charged $1400 on my taxes to cover this war. Where is the money coming from? It's coming from our kids and grand kids. The last 6-7 years has seen a massive surge of support for Ws short term solutions to long term problems, no matter how stupid his short term solutions were. The country seems to finally be coming around and realizing what a few of us "communists" and "haters of america" have been saying since 2000. The asshole sucks.
  14. It is the win, usually accompanied by snow, but Ohio sucks at the winter. I want some of that Denver blizzard action.
  15. The main flaw in all forms of goverment is people. If we get rid of them, things will be great.
  16. I will trade my Cougar straight up, less the extra stuff, for this Volvo...tomarrow if necessary. The shifter thing: It seems like a PITA song and dance, but it works, correct? I.E. It'll get up and go in the morning, even if it needs a lil massage.
  17. I haven't dragged it, I bought it for road course lapping days and AutoX. BUT, the previous owner did, it even comes with a set of Comp TAs and rims. With a full interior, full tank of gas, and a slipping AOD it was a 13.5 and under car. It's shed a shitload of weight and now sports a TKO, so expect it to improve.
  18. Dickshine, reeeeeeaaad the post, you're a smart lad, you'll get it. Let me spell out the funny, 350,000,000,000 divided by 250,000,000.... Where are those houses, cuz I'll take three. The hell did I say anything about running peoples lives? I'm not one of the guys pimping the patriot act. All I said was "Dig It" iwishiwascool is right, communisim will not work, ant Trickle Down (aka supply-side) economics ALWAYS ends up being Trickle up econ. A great percentage of money spent on these wars does come back to the states, but not to it's people. The war on Terror is a farse. What happend in Afghanistan was good and justified...but then the US stopped and bought into lies. Now we're into Iraq, which is fucked. Afghanistan is getting more fucked by the day, and there's a pack of asshats wanting into Iran. Alot of money is being made of this war, hundreds of billions of dollars are coming back, and the top 3% of us are getting the vast majority of it. Our troops pay for it directly.
  19. Wond be long and we'll have a Health and Safety lot like the British do. http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/4999/driftkingfw7dx0.png
  20. While giving a test drive last night...on street tires and cold pavement. It would seem that the right pedal is improperly labeled the Accelerator. It should, in fact, be called the sideways button. This problem doesn't go away till about 30mph or 3rd gear, whichever comes first. Anyone else have one of these?
  21. Just gave a test drive and discovered a new problem: 1st and second gear are uselss on street tires in the cold. The gas pedal should be relabeled as the "Sideways" button.
  22. I responded moreso to your ascertion of risk. The above data shows that drivers are at greater risk driving than mountaineers are when mountaineering. But, I'll play ball. Since were talking re$cue $ituations, injuries will be counted. Body recovery is cheaper anyways. Liscensed drivers :196,000,000 Fatal+Injury accidents: 39,189+1,816,000 = 1,855,189 So, that's a ratio of 1:106 So, your 70x more likely to get jacked up in a wreck. I'd call lost limbs and mauled hotties tragic. But hell, lets do fatalities. 1:5000 Is closer, but 1:7500 still beats it. It's official, Mountaineers are safer when mountaineering then drivers are driving. Also, bad drivers do $203 billion in damage every year. The search for the 3 guys on Mt Hood would have to go on every day, non stop, full on for 5500 YEARS before it was in danger of costing that much.
