As long as it's an SR5 or GT-S from that time, it's guaranteed to be RWD. It's a real shit that the only new Corollas available now are FWD sedans, no coupes, no hatchbacks. Can you say "poor people's Camry"? graemlins/nonono.gif You really ought to do that mod that I posted about a while back, with the air cleaner swap. It'll still be a 4AC, thus slow as shit, but it really helps the car out by replacing the crappy stock air cleaner with a more free flowing one. Changed my setup a little bit too, eliminating the hose from the air cleaner to the valve cover and gave that it's own independant filter. $9 from Advance for one of those little APC ones, minor improvement, not too noticable but still an improvement.

Because when you just say "Corolla" people tend to think you mean the FWD model that was released during the same years. It lets people know you mean a RWD Corolla from 1984-1987. One shop I took it to refused to believe it was RWD after I said it was a Corolla until they opened the hood. it's also hell of a lot quicker to say "I've got (an eight-six, an AE86, a hachi, a hachi-roku, etc.)" then to say "I have a rear wheel drive 1986 Corolla." That and it just seems to be the way things go with a lot of japanese cars (esp. Toyota), people referring to them by their chassis code, instead of just the normal name. Jon: If you really don't like those wheels I'd be willing to trade my Toyota wheels for it, pics are somewhere on this forum (the ones I took at Easton show the wheels I got my car with, though I really think the ones on yours look nice.)

That hachi is WAY cleaner then my delivery-driving rusted up hachi... Too bad it's not a GT-S tho. Nice find. I'm working on getting an FC3S convertable soon, myself.

Picked up the cluster, steering wheel, and one of the plastic turn signal lenses for my AE86. On that note, anyone know how to change the odometer reading so I can have it match the one in my original cluster before I put it in?

I'm going with Buick. I've owned two of them, and they just usually don't put out exciting cars too often, though they have had a few nice ones here and there. (Anyone remember the Reatta?) Buick's problem is their main demographic really has been older drivers, and that demographic is really starting to die off (literally).
-
Shit, will they let you bring a sawzall in to cut off quarter panels? I need 2 new ones and the hatch door.

Watch your ass on 270 from about where Gahanna starts up until exit 41B (at least), been seeing a lot of sherrif cars sitting there in the morning waiting to bust anyone for the most minor shit. Fucking retarded.

I was on a morning delivery with the hachi, and the latch on the aftermarket sunroof someone installed on it busted off, so now I have to duct tape it shut until I find a replacement. Anyone know where to buy a replacement latch for an SFC "Autoport" sunroof (2nd style latch) for a good price, since I couldn't fine one at U-Wrench-It?

My hachi! (kinda slow for 56K people, but not too bad)

I'm not too far from Easton myself, more of the Cleveland/Schrock area here, but I can get to Easton PDQ. It's got some rust problems those pics don't show, but strategic car-parking/camera angles/etc hide that in pictures I'd be up for some skyline photos of some AE86es, just say when. As for the stickers: They're staying. The Jegs ones are because they showed very good customer service, and went the extra mile to help me out when I was buying the air cleaner and assorted bits to go with, and the Edelbrock ones came with the air cleaner. And yeah, I have a Club4ag account too -
Here's some pics of my car. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/Kuruma_Kitsune/PICT0032.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/Kuruma_Kitsune/PICT0030.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/Kuruma_Kitsune/PICT0019.jpg

K, I'll try to see if I can post some later today when I head up to Mansfield. Let me know if you need the hook-up on a longer air cleaner stud for your carb if you do this mod, I had to buy way more threaded rod then I really needed, and I can dremel off a length for ya. As for the usefulness of it, I swear by it. The little carbed 4A-C sounds a lot meaner now, the car takes off at a faster pace, and has lost that annoying jerking problem that you get below 15mph. It's a bit of a bitch to start when cold, from the preheater and such being eliminated in this setup, but I'll take the initial inconvenience to get the extra power.

Finally got my first upgrade to a car done yesterday. Installed an Edelbrock 10" air cleaner to replace the stock air cleaner that normally comes with an SR5. The results are pretty damn good even with the paper filter it came with, so if any of y'all have any beaters running a 4A-C engine (RWD Corolla SR5, FWD Corollas up until 1987, some Chevy Novas), and want a little more power to keep up with traffic, this is a pretty inexpensive little project that works well. Pics will come once I have them ready.

Honda Drivers, No Survivors! graemlins/thatfunny.gif

I think it's a good price, considering how clean the car is, plus the mods and such. I got my AE86 for about $400, but I see stock SR5s selling for $2000 on ebay regularly, so it just goes to show that kbb doesn't take supply and demand into account.

That shit pisses me the fuck off! I am not Madame Cleo, I cannot read minds, and I do not know that you plan to swerve your fucking beater right in front of me as I'm trying to pass your worthless ass, so fucking SIGNAL! Even more annoying is people who don't signal for their right/left turns, and brake suddenly on a one lane road, coming to a complete stop before making their turn, making everyone else behind them slam on their brakes. Failure to signal needs to be a 4 point violation, with mandatory driving school, period.
-
That's fucking dickfaced. Some guy tried to buy my hachi out from under me *while* I was about to head to the BMV with the lady selling it to transfer the title. She seemed annoyed that he was trying that though so it's all good.
-
Well yeah, I'm exempting most of the people here from that. I *expect* most everyone here to know how to drive. Toledo is bullshit too, so it's not just Columbus.

How many positions are available?

What the shit is with the majority of native Ohio drivers??? I grew up in Los Angeles, where it doesn't even rain most of the time, and I've only been here since 12/01, and only have been driving a RWD 5-speed since October, but I can already handle snow at a good speed, and turn just fine in the snow. Hell, I can even drift in the snow without sliding out of control if I want to. So why the hell do so many people who have grown up all around this shit drive like total idiots the moment a flake touches the ground?!?!
-
When is third shift there? I want a second job, but work as a delivery driver from 5PM-9PM (or 10PM on fridays and saturdays), and have morning catering deliveries to do at 10:30ish
-
HAHAHAHA. That's wrong. Please tell me that's fake.
-
My carb is on it's last legs, though I found a cheap replacement on Club4AG. I say at this point in time (until the package arrives), my hachi-roku is the absolute slowest RWD here.
-
If I had the money, I'd buy it, remove the wing, and get it painted black. Prolly turbo the damn thing too. smile.gif
-
I took off the sunroof on my hachi, rolled down the windows, and drove around with a friend of mine. Hope the new carb I just bought to replace the dying one comes on a nice sunny day

That's some crazy shit. Fucker should compete in D1 or something.
