  1. Everyone says Rolla does good work. smile.gif
  2. Last night at the Brookeville, someone driving a dark blue Ford, likely an Escort, hit a tan 1996 Honda Accord EX on the right hand rear quarter panel, shoving it into the car next to it, then fled the scene at a high speed down Shrock going towards Cleveland Ave., leaving a headlight assembly intact and on the ground, their turn signal assembly on the ground in pieces, and pieces of either their bumper or fender behind as well. From the fact that the *left* headlight was the one the guy lost, and the way he hit the Accord, it looks like he was trying to drift the damn thing in the rain like an idiot, and lost it. The lady who owns the (not riced out) Accord just finished paying it off, and now might end up having the car totaled out because of this guy. If anyone hears anything, please PM with info.
  3. Posted on Club4AG about this as well, but it couldn't hurt to post here too: Need to purchase/borrow a carb in good condition for my AE86 Corolla SR5 (1986). I just got a job as a delivery driver for W.G. Grinders after being out of work since the first week of December, and it looks like my carb picks right now to start failing. I can probably make the existing one last a little while longer in it's current state, and can drive around, but it's extremely difficult to do so. Carbs from other 4A-C powered Toyota would probably be interchangeable with this one. Dunno if anyone has one of these lying around, but if so, please PM me.
  4. I just hate everyone who drives slow as fuck, but *right next to* another car so nobody can pass, don't care who the fuck spawned em.
  5. Angry people *really* don't like it when you respond completely devoid of any emotion whatsoever to their ranting with cold, hard facts about why their stuff doesn't work, and what caused it. "Why the FUCK am I getting all these fucking porn popups crashing my fucking computer!!!!!" "You have spyware. You got it by going to a site related to the popups you are getting."
  6. Well, he said stuff like "Thank you for calling Verizon, what kind of underwear are you wearing today?", pretended to be Domino's Pizza, and reset someone's password to "SHITHEAD", for starters. Oh, and I was making 9.62/hour, 40 hour weeks, and my roommate wanted $350 for rent, plus I had a Neon that I was paying about $280/mo for that I got rid of now. I suppose I could afford to work there *now* but I won't work on Verizon. BTW, Lamar (the supervisor) was my roommate.
  7. I pretty much quit because I got tired of talking to people who didn't appreciate the help they were getting, undiagnosed downs syndrome sufferers on floor control giving me attitude when I had been there a lot longer and knew perfectly well what I was doing, and not making enough to afford driving 20 miles each way 5 days a week. Managed to put up with it for almost a year and a half though.
  8. Automatic, or manual? One of my roommates needs to learn to drive, and there's no way in hell a beginner is driving my car.

If I had that kind of money to burn, I'd just buy every import and domestic that has caught my eye (and fix up the 86 I've got), and go somewhere with some nice canyon roads to play on a weekly basis. Cars > Jewelry.
  10. The Ninja boy is one of my roommates. You think the sleeping part was bad, he did much worse that they don't have proof of tongue.gif
  11. Ahahahaha. Is Kris your trainer? He's cool. I quit there because I got tired of pawning my shit just to afford gas to go to work.
  12. If you're on the VOL project, ask your trainer to let you hear the "Lisa" call. If he or she asks what you mean, say "The girl that made the buckwheat reference to the customer" and they'll know what you mean smile.gif
  13. Definately a green Fiesta, though there's a beat up Festiva GL that I've never seen in any different parking space or out of the one it perpetually occupies. There's a red RX-7 near my place that has no engine or transmission in it as well, and almost no interior to speak of, and the most horrific piece of rice ever, the "jesus rice" (riced out car with a huge Jesus fish decal and anti-abortion messages on it where most ricers put brand-names) that you can sometimes see around the area resides there too. There's a lot of cars that never seem to actually MOVE at the Brookevile, which up until the other day, included my AE86, but that's been fixed, for the most part since sunday afternoon. I'll tell him to give you a call about that Lumina's title next time I see him, didn't know you didn't have it yet.
  14. Anyone know anyone who lives at The Brookeville and owns a green Fiesta in near perfect condition, with a spedometer that goes up to 140MPH, and with a bunch of aftermarket gauges as well? I'm interested to know what's been done to this thing. No way they went that fast stock. smile.gif
  15. +1 Old japanese cars seem to melt away right before your eyes when you drive them anywhere that has winter X_X Gotta go somewhere like California or Texas to find immaculate Toyotas and Hondas from that period. I'm on Club4AG as well, but I don't post there often due to no internet at home/not many topics catching my eye. Me and my 86 would be up for an oldschool 'yota meet sometime after I find new employment. Gasoline doesn't buy itself, unfortunately.
  16. Yeah, it turned out to be just a vacuum leak. I had a lapse in concentration, and forgot to replace the hose connecting from the carb to the HIC valve on the air cleaner. As for the standing of an SR-5, it is not considered an AE85. It's a common misconception as a lot of sites (especially Initial D sites.) haven't actually bothered to do their homework on AE86es before posting information about them that may be wrong. Not bashing it as a series, I like driving to that kind of music, and I have watched a lot of the series, but I didn't buy mine because of the series (was looking at an RX-7 at first, and this car kinda fell into my lap instead by chance after I had given up the idea of finding one.), and I did do a lot of checking before deciding if I *really* wanted it or not. AE85 is a Japanese-only chassis designation for the Trueno/Levin models of that time that were RWD, with a 3A-U engine powering them. This chassis designation is never used in any US/Euro/Austrailian RWD Corollas/Sprinters/Etc. For a more complete listing of the various incarnations of the AE85/AE86, check out: http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech_pages/model_name_comparison_chart.htm AE86 is the only chassis designation in the US for RWD Corollas from about 1984-1987, with the SR5 using an SOHC 4A-C (carbed) engine, and the GT-S powered by the more robust DOHC 4A-GE (EFI). The SR5 shares the same interior trim as the AE85 as far as the seats go, and a few other minor details, lacks the side skirts of the GT-S, has less fancy (They are smaller, and only come in all black, not two-tone, and not the same color as the rest of the vehicle) front and rear bumpers, uses the same rear axles as an AE85, with the rear brakes being drum brakes, instead of the rear discs given to GT-S owners. The GT-S chassis also has a few extra/better welds in a few points. However, despite the similarities to the JDM-only AE85, it is still considered an AE86, which you will find stamped into not only the manufacturer's plate near the firewall, but also on the chassis itself. You can tell if an AE86 had started it's life as an SR5, even after an engine swap and numerous other changes to make it GT-S spec (or better then GT-S spec, I.E. having had a 4A-GZE swapped into it.) fairly easily. The VIN number of an SR5 will say "AE86" in it, and a GT-S will say "AE88", however, both cars will still say "AE86" on the manufacturer's plate, and on the chassis. All in all, an SR5 really is a pretty slow car unless you spend a lot on it, but it is a good car to pick up if you want a zippy little japanese hatchback about the size of and shape of a CRX to play around with for fun, but still want RWD. Just don't pay too much for it. I got mine for $400
  17. That's a pretty clean looking ride. Wish I could afford it. smile.gif
  18. My AE86 keeps stalling, but only after the engine is warmed up. The motor does not stall during the initial warm-up period, nor does it stall while accelerating. The stalling only occurs when stopped, or when you push the clutch in longer then what it takes to quickly shift gears. Aside from the timing being fucked up, what else could cause this on a toyota 4A-C engine?
  19. Yeah, that would be my hachi. It's not *as* beat up as it was when I brought it over to fix the brakes, engine wise. Turns out the head gasket was fixing to blow, and finally did on New Years Day. We just need to correct a few minor glitches and it'll be pretty zippy for what it is. smile.gif It's only the SOHC version though, so it's no match for a GT-S. There are some curiosities about mine that I've noticed though, like how the cruise control lever doesn't seem to be the kind that toyota put in them (wrong side of steering wheel, etc), and a few other things that make you go "WTF?" Very nice AE86, BTW, Know anywhere to pick up a cheap hatch or quarter panel? Mine have the standard issue Toyota rust.

    Miata work

Sounds like your Miata is coming along nicely. What do you plan to do to increase the power a bit?
  21. Been using emulators since 1996, with Super Pasofami and Pasofami. Anyone else remember when the author of those threw a hissyfit and changed the program to delete everything in C:\Windows? IMHO, the best place to get any sort of roms is IRC. Rom web sites are 75% spyware and porn popup fakes, and 25% legit these days. I know a few good channels with obvious names on Undernet.
  22. Thanks, however, this is for an EFI 4A-GE, and my SR5 (the one me and Alpine have been fixing) is using a carbed 4A-C. What are you planning to do with your 4A-GE when you've got the 4A-GZE in there? smile.gif [ 19. January 2005, 04:30 AM: Message edited by: Kuruma ]
  23. No, she had a kinda downs syndrome look to her face. turns out it was an accord, not a civic, and the bitch lives here. :/
