I went to one of their little presentations back in 1998, back when it was around $120. Even that amount set off some serious red flags for me. They make you a lot of promises, but it sounds too good to be true, so...

I drive delivery for a living, sometimes 10 hour shifts. This means I get to see a hefty helping of human stupidity on the roads daily, especially seeing as I'm doing it in a 55hp red convertible with an automatic, therefore I'm constantly looking for the next dumb shit that's going to fuck up... That study is bullshit. The hit and runner that got my Probe last year was hispanic, and I've had african immigrants (not african americans, but FOB from Kenya and Somalia, judging from the clothing and the stickers on their car representing their home country) pull stupid shit like whip out of a parking lot and into the wrong lane directly facing my bumper with their front end. As for whites... They have their own amount of reckless behavior that is just as common. The idiots just have large SUVs and none of the skill to be operating anything more dangerous then... Well... My Metro. Stupidity is universal.

Speeding anywhere near Dublin or Worthington in general is a pretty bad idea if you like your money.

100% sure that it's a carb. The SR5 model comes with the same 1.6 liter SOHC carbed engine used in the FWD corollas. They use a really crappy carb that likes to do stupid things like develop a dead spot in the middle between not pressing the gas and WOT, which only gets worse with time until you rebuild or replace it. If you let it go long enough the car likes to do stupid things like stall when you hit the brakes, have it's idle lope from 500rpm to 1,500rpm, or get stuck in WOT. (Yes, my own car has done all of these, and that's a big part of why it's sitting.) Personally, I think it's a better idea to ditch the stock carb and install a Weber 32/36, but they're priced a bit higher then what my friend can afford, so he'd like to get his stock one rebuilt.
-
Allright, here's the deal. Friend needs a carb rebuilt on his 1986 Toyota Corolla SR5 (AE86). The carb is a toyota asian carb, similar to the ones used in other 4A-C powered cars. He has a rebuild kit already, so you don't need to buy one to get the job done. He cannot be without use of the car for more then a week. Let me know how much you want for doing it and when you can and I'll pass the info along. I also kinda need one of these rebuilt for myself too, but I can wait until his is done seeing as I have two other cars that drive.

Got any pics of the Neon damage?

RWD turns more naturally, for the driver. Oversteer isn't so bad, and is fun in the snow... But my RWD car has been broken for about a year. :/

Anyone know what it costs to have tonsils removed for an adult, when paying out of pocket? I think mine need to go.
-
Interesting. I'd like to try one out someday
-
Did you tell Danny about it? He's been looking for a beater.
-
Said it before, and I'll say it again: Rolla. Dunno if he can do insurance claims, but he does damn good work.
-
I would I actually LIKE the GTO. My first experience with one was while driving my Neon through traffic back when I used to think it was fun to piss the cops off and shit, and I saw this new car, no badges and thought "What the fuck is this, the new Sunfire or something?" Of course, I learned different real quick, and it could take corners at 100 that my Neon wanted to understeer into a guardrail through if I even went 60. In my opinion I'll always think of it as a damn good car, and I'd like to own a nice used one when I can afford it.

I've got an Audiobahn ABP10 enclosure with 2 10 inch subs in it, one's an audiobahn, the other was replaced with a "Dual" brand sub, box has neon tube inside as well. I'd say the box is in good shape other then having one of the subs in it being replaced with an off-brand sub. Open to reasonable offers of trades (Willing to trade the ABP10 + Cash for an older EF Civic/CRX beater, or something along those lines) or cash.
-
What happened to that EF hatch you just got on sunday? If you're wanting it gone already, let me know.
-
I want a car that can go OVER the car in front of it too.
-
Interested in trading an Audiobahn ABP10 box and some cash for the car?
-
*bump* I'm going to take pics of this tomorrow, still for sale, willing to just give it to someone if they do a head and head gasket swap on my other metro 3-cyl, already have a spare head and the gasket set and will buy the bolts soon, just don't have tons of time to work on it
-
Actually, this thread is relevant to me. That's in my delivery area, and I routinely get orders from people who live there. I usually whip through that strip at 55-65mph in my Probe when traffic permits, so hey, thanks for the heads up man. You probably just saved me a couple hundred bucks.

FS/FT: Winter Beater - 94 Ford Taurus GL for sale - $400
Kuruma replied to lemosley01's topic in LBTS GLWS
my boss is looking for a beater, I think I'll show him this one. -
Nice car, my friend bought this yesterday. Now to teach him to drive stick
-
I'd say it's overpriced, but I'm guessing you would have to pay somewhere around that much for all the labor and parts involved in doing the swap right. Nice idea, ugly paint job.

http://www.mindlitter.com/Mindlitter/Blockmen/eatshitanddie.jpg You too. :jerkit:

Cool. Do you have a phone number I can give you a ring at sometime this week when he's here?
-
Yeah, We've all done some downright stupid shit in our cars at some point in time. Anyone who denies it is probably lying. I put a stop to that shit after I turned 25 too, got it out of my system, and now I just don't really even want to bother driving like a fuckwit with my cars and breaking them or crashing them all the time. It's not worth the cost. I define a ricer as someone who thinks putting stupid body kits and wings on their car will do anything other then make it look like a catfish faced reject from Boeing's drunken christmas party, and thinks that because I'm driving faster then the speed limit, that I must be out to street race, like the guy in the green V6 auto Mustang with the interior and license plate neons that thought that me driving a 1986 Honda Accord (not mine.) at 70 down the road I used to live off of (which was a 45 zone, but I always drove 70 down that road no matter what car I drove) and accelerating quickly meant that I was challenging his "mad r(a/i)cer skillz".

Is this still available this week? I have a friend coming into town who needs a car, and I can teach him how to drive this before he goes home.
