  1. I bought 4 new tires from Amazon a week or so ago and had them installed without issue on the 3 old wheels and one new one this past Saturday. With both drivers' side wheels blowing out originally, the LR wheel took a pretty sizable smack from the same road-irregularity that cracked my front wheel, but it still held a bead and a balance just fine fine on the new tire. Driving it was a great feeling again...what this 4-cyl lacks in torque, it makes up for in being a very fun 10/10ths throttle car. The only issue I'm realizing now that the car is back on the road is that there is a very small squat in the LF corner of the car, and at highway speed it pulls to the left. I'm assuming this is due to it being knocked out of alignment. Anyone recommend a shop for alignments, especially on a lowered car? Derek at Best One has always treated me well, but wanted opinions from CR. Thanks!
  2. - NPR - Bloomberg - WSJ - Drudge Report (which pushes a right-wing agenda, but does source some decent news outlets for some of their stories). I think a responsible citizen has to get their news from multiple sources - which people cannot complain about since most of it is either free or quickly accessible for cheap on the internet.
  3. Amen, brother. Wrench erryday. Yeeeeeaaahhhh....I don't think he's going to keep this one long enough. :gabe: I'm a big fan of g1/g2 Cayennes, as it does seem like you get an over-engineered sporty family-hauler for a good price. Hope you grab a good one. I can't help but question your logic if you're going through a divorce soon...
  4. That's a good looking ZL1. Welcome to the site!
  5. My bad...arthritis is the 15th. This is the first time in more than 10 years of my memory that the Goodguys Nationals is NOT on the same weekend as the Arthritis Car Show!
  6. I have red calipers on my BMW. I had to replace one of the fronts because it was siezing, and RockAuto had replacements for $29 each, while red powdercoated were $33 each. It's nice if your car normally has bare metal calipers to have something that looks good when the wheel is clean. If they offered black calipers I would've done that. I agree with you when weaksauce calipers are painted they look silly, but at the same time I'm trying to explain away why I'm part of that same group.
  7. I can't, only because I'm judging for the Arthritis Car Show this weekend. As soon as I'd make it to Dayton I'd have to turn around to make it home in time.
  8. Wow...that's actually a sh*t-ton of hard work! Congratulations!
  9. ...or Dodge isn't the best at managing PP&E with production requirements.
  10. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-06-29/republicans-slam-trump-tweets-attacking-female-tv-host-s-looks Keep it classy, Trump.
  11. Good news! Absolute Steel said that while the kit is metal-strapped to a palette and is 11' long, it's 35 pieces with no one piece being more than 40lbs. I'm going to have friends help me just pull each piece off the truck. Shouldn't be a problem now!
  12. Kerry, find some Street Freaks...sky-high gasser-stanced 50s/60s/70s cars for sale...
  13. I love Zoomies, but man that's gotta be turrible-loud cruising down the highway.
  14. Carport is at Estes lot in Columbus, for final delivery to mah house. Unfortunately, it's palleted and weighs 1500lbs. Absolute Steel didn't accomodate residential delivery with a Lift-back truck... :ugh: If Estes has to charge me extra for a lift-back delivery, is there anything I can do to get it off the truck myself? I can't think of any way to move 1500lbs off a truck...
  15. *Sigh*... I have to reluctantly jump in. Brandon, I voted for Trump as the "anti-Hillary", and I feel that he's earned every punch that's been thrown his way from the left and the media. Hearing alt-right whining about how terrible everyone treats Trump really bothers me: no one remembers the hateful things said about Obama? Selective memory much??? Hypocrites LOL.
  16. +1. If you're grilling meat, some sliced zucchini in olive oil, salt+pepper grilling next to them is an awesome compliment. My wife turned me on to roasted veggies and I've eaten lot more variety of veggies because of that. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/222763/balsamic-grilled-zucchini/
  17. I keep forgetting you can get a Hellcat with a stick shift. For all the crap I give FCA for their quality, props to them for still serving car enthusiasts with a proper manual transmission for 2018.
  18. That's a great neighborhood and looks like a very nice house. GLWS!
  19. Hey, Matt...you bring up a good point. I've got a good amount of cabin noise in my BMW from a crack in the pipe near the catalytic converter. Since it's a '95 (pre-OBDII and no downstream O2 sensor after-cat) I'm looking at cutting the cat out and replace it with straight-pipe or a resonator. I've researched "j-pipes" in the past and appreciate the physics that make it work. From your experience, can you put a j-pipe anywhere in the exhaust system to make a difference? Like, does it have to be further downstream or can one be installed closer to the header?
  20. Thanks, Eli. Yes, Scott...apologies for not being on CR again until now...I meant nothing harsh. I'm trying to improve my own diet and work on exercising, and fortunately I'm not battling any sort of chronic pain yet. Insole devices do work, but Eli and I are highlighting that improving your health through diet, stretching, exercise will do you a lot of long-term good.
  21. Any way to put some Alcoa's on it? I'm definitely a fan of that tee-ruk. Why would it be horrible? To Paul-Michael's point above, I've got some rust showing on my 1982 F100 but they are just such a simple and cheap truck to own and drive that I'll get around at some point to repairing the holes....or not.
  22. I was thinking this since Scott put this thread up. Work on stretches and ways to eat/drink better (listen to your body) and hopefully that will help also. As I'm getting older, I'm realizing trimming pounds and staying strong and limber is definitely a crucial part of keeping pain at bay. Watched my wife lose 50lbs and see first-hand the effect it's had on her attitude, diet, positivity has been inspiring.
