http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111230&highlight=softball Over the last few years, we've enjoyed a great group of men's softball games down at Berliner Fields. Schedule is not yet released but this will be a WEDNESDAY NIGHT league, starting May 6th. Come for the fun, stay for the after-game beers at Planks in German Village. We're looking for commitment over softball skills, so let me know if you're interested!

I figure we make this thread into a brake-knowledge thread. Cheap as I am, I can't bring myself to buy eBay brakes from PowerSport or BrakeMotive>>>http://www.ebay.com/itm/FRONT-REAR-PERFORMANCE-DRILLED-SLOTTED-BRAKE-ROTORS-AND-CERAMIC-PADS-BMW-325i-/221000420706?fits=Make%3ABMW&hash=item3374a6cd62&vxp=mtr. Went onto RockAuto and priced a cheap but I think reasonable package for aggressive street driving (no real track time, aside from an occasional autoX): Rotors: RAYBESTOS Part # 96387R {#1096387} 5 Bolt Holes Professional Grade - Rear RAYBESTOS Part # 96780R {#1096780} 5 Bolt Holes Professional Grade - Front Pads: CENTRIC Part # 30105580 Premium Ceramic Pads w/Shims - Front CENTRIC Part # 30106920 Premium Ceramic Pads w/Shims - Rear I like that the rotors are coated on the hat, to hopefully hide rust down the road. Also, with shipping and no 5% discount (which I usually get emailed) it's $144.44 shipped, which is as cheap of a package as I can get. Anyone have experience with Centric ceramics or Raybestos rotors?

Fuck yeah, Rocky! Sorry to hear about your allergies. Great pics. That C10 is badass! I need to get my video setup out for the season...

I was not around for CC&C this past saturday. Does anyone have pics from the cruise or Cup O' Joe? Thanks...

Cannot make it. Had a great time. The "younger" crowd is impressing me more and more with their automotive creativity...I left at 10:45 so if the crowd started punking around I didn't see it.

Bees have become pretty efficient over the last couple million years...srsly, if they are hanging around a certain area of your house, chances are there is a hive nearby. I had a yellowjacket issue a couple summers ago where there seemed to be a bunch around my house, then I nearly drove over their underground hive. I waited until nighttime, found the hive with a few guards at the entrance, poured half of a citronella tiki-torch fuel bottle down the entrance, let it sit for a bit (they seemed to be agitated, if not totally blind in the dark...even with my LED headlight in their faces), then lit the bitch on fire. Let it burn like an in-ground tiki torch for over an hour. Very next day, no yellowjackets around the house. Hive was dead. The day after that, some animal came and dug it up overnight. I had a huge pit in my lawn from where these fuckers nested. I say all of that because BEES ARE COOL, but they likely are having a mini swarm because there's a hive nearby. Even if it was food sources, they usually fly in, feed, and fly back to the hive. Try to find out if there's a hole in your eaves/soffet, or if they are going to a nearby tree.

Kerry, I do believe you're right on technically who came up with the idea...there was a lot of beer consumed that evening. I'm not going to be at Rise&Drive or Cup O'Joe as I'm going to be in Marengo (will try to get back ASAP)...if you guys see Mike Patton (blue Scooby STI with red mudflaps) he's going to have the first batch of shirts (I think he said he had 16). Grant, I'm pretty sure we're going to do black shirts next batch, but it's up to Mike and Brian @ RoAcH. Will keep you guys in the loop!

Will try to make it out!

Thanks guys! I think the first 12 will go quickly...must be present to purchase. However, we will run new shirts quickly. FWIW, I have an event on Saturday morning and may miss CC&C; I don't think even I will get one of the first ones!

I'm really excited to share the result of a few beers with friends. A few Fridays ago, Kerry (Geeto67), Wes (TheMrWes), myself and another CC&C regular named Mike were chatting cars at a bar. After Wes did CC&C stickers last year, we talked about something better...and a shirt was floated. I suggested a "Rat Fink"-style drag design with a coffee mug, and after some VERY rudimentary drawings on Ohio Lottery keno cards at the bar, Mike worked on a design that looked much better. Then, through working with Brian Peterson at RoAcH Studios (another CC&C regular) Mike contacted "Newt", who was one of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's head artists back in the '60s and '70s...can you believe he moved from SoCal to Dublin, OH a few decades ago?!? http://i.imgur.com/44eXqrf.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wAvZYQE.png There is a first run of 12 shirts for sale this Saturday @ $20/shirt, with future shirts to be available online. Let me know your thoughts. It doesn't seem like a big thing, but I think it's really cool to have our very own logo on a shirt...call me easy to please.

Hindsight is 20/20, but it all goes back to: 1)track was designed and budgeted for a certain type of racing. 2)Inexperienced driver and the decision to go the wrong way on said track. If someone did a "Driving Experience" at Tuttle Mall and died from hitting an obstacle, everyone would wonder what could've been done differently. Still doesn't change that people took risks.

I'm beginning to sense that - on slow days - Rymer leaves the safe confines of Chatbox and leaks onto wayward threads.

Your mom wasn't too difficult **FOR ME** to "negotiate"...if you know what I mean... http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/gallery/yes/lip_licker.gif

Like I said...not trying to be all FoxNewsie... Tough to find a decent U.S.-based news source, since CNN.com is like Reddit these days. Will revert back to NPR and The Economist. Thanks, Eric

http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2015/04/isis-camp-a-few-miles-from-texas-mexican-authorities-confirm/ I'm not trying to get all Fox News up in hurr...but does this bother anyone else? Sounds like Mexican cartels are assisting ISIS fighters, and there is pretty stout evidence of a possible symbolic attack (no disrespect to Chaparral, NM...but I think we'll get by if it gets nuked).

I acknowledge that many of the solid pieces are made overseas...it's the mechanical bits and rotating assemblies that are cheap: wheels that bend over a storm drain, derailleurs that break, stripped brake cable... If it's light-duty street riding than shouldn't be a problem.

I will add for anyone else looking at bikes DO NOT get some cheap Chinese-built Huffy or Schwinn. We've gone through my wife's bike and one of my daughter's bikes that (thankfully) were both gifts and they are utter garbage. You get what you pay for. With kids, I'd try to get a better quality bike used. Still will be more expensive than a $99 Huffy at Wal*Mart, but they can use it and you will still be able to sell it later on.
