  1. Tim, that's not a driveway...it's a parking pad. Talk to me when the driveway is over 100ft...$10-14k.
  2. Oh! Kerry mentioned non-S Coopers...PHUCK THEM. Drove some ragged-out trade-in MINI Cooper at CarMax Sawmill. Less than 50k miles and the A/C on full blast couldn't keep me cool in the summer, vents were aimed right at my hands. Couldn't direct them elsewhere. Brakes were terrible, shifter was unmemorable and the engine (115hp Renault) was disgusting. Stereo was shitty and the seat was uncomfortable. I still love the IDEA of a Mini, but the execution in the non-S version is seriously lacking. OK...thinking it over, maybe it's not the worst car I've ever driven, but it's surprisingly terribad for the price/popularity. I think that's what makes the difference for car guys: how our performance-per-dollar perception (often similarly shared with other car guys!) seems to knock down cars that you still see a million of on a daily basis. The public are sheeple.
  3. Ooh...not much, if you know me. Total bar-napkin calculation here, but if you could get a $30k car that travels 300 miles a charge and recharges in 3 hours, that would be big. I'm travelling for business, going to Cleveland and back in a day. Figure that at 60mph average(mostly highway at 70mph, some street driving) you cover 300miles in 5 hours, there and back. Let's assume you're getting 25mpg, and that the future cost of gas (since it is going up) will be about $3 a gallon: 300miles/25mpg = 12 gallons 12gal*$3/gal = $36 in gas for that one trip. If I make 9 trips like that a month on average (20 business days), that's $324 a month I save just in gas...let alone driving around Columbus. Cost to finance $30k for 5 years at 4%? $539 a month; I've paid for over half of the finance expense for that hypothetical $30k electric car just on gas savings alone. Even my googling netted maybe $50/month for electric charging overnight at my own home... I have fun joking about how cheap I am, but I am pragmatic; if a $35k Tesla comes around that has the range/recharge performance I stated above, I won't be the only smart businessman that makes the jump...
  4. I'd also add that once Tesla figures out 400 mile range reliably per charge, and a recharge time of an hour or less, then I say BYE BYE, INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE. I know that's a tall order, but they are working on it more successfully than any other manufacturer out there.
  5. Back in 2005 when I worked in FL but just before I moved down, I "treated" myself to a convertible rental car. It was Florida, I might as well enjoy the climate the best way I can, right? Rental agency gave me a Chrysler Sebring convertible. It was a good looking car in white with chrome trim. And then I got in and drove it... Even on ice-rink-smooth asphalt roads in southern Florida, the cowl shake was intense. I seriously thought something was broken in the car. With the top up, visibility was terrible. The doors and the interior were huge, yet no seating position felt comfortable. Fit and finish was laughable, and the performance was horrid. I thought it was the 4-cyl...popped the hood...NOPE, 2.7L V6. What a major disappointment. If I were looking for a convertible and the choice was a VW Cabrio with Ronal Bear wheels or a Chrysler Sebring, I'd take the bitch basket in a heartbeat.
  6. ^^^LOL at PP. Well played. I love the improved look of the '15's as well. Congratulations on the purchase and many happy miles to you!
  7. Eton is just east of 271 on Chagrin Blvd...it's a mini-Easton. If you went north on Richmond Road to Cedar Rd, theres a much bigger, Easton-style outdoor mall called Legacy Village. TONS of drink/restaurant options. Focus on Eton first, since it's exactly where you are going to be, but if nothing strikes your fancy a cheap Uber/taxi ride would take you to Legacy.
  8. I have a feeling the market's going to have a correction sometime soon...nothing long-term, but low Q1 GDP may give investors a pause, especially considering some of the earnings on LL and TWTR coming out. Anyone playing a downturn? I have the ability to write options contracts but I dare not dabble with forces I cannot control...
  9. N8, I commented on the manual Mazda 6 longroof on Saturday...nice car! Like the RX7 wheels as well!
  10. Wow! Nice pickup with a perfect combo of factory options and the right aftermarket bolt-ons. In order for any NB Miata to be "hetero", you gotta do somehing with those headlights: http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/6e/89/84/6e89844ea4fab9190cc52d14b6d7357c.jpg
  11. I had to re-read your second paragraph a couple of times...then re-read the beginning of your post to double-check you were talking about the Tesla. You seriously thought the interior was cheap? Aside from the M-B parts-bin switchgear (which is perfectly fine) the interior is very well done and somewhat understated in a quality way, like an Audi. ...at least I agree with your summary: if the interior feels $25k, then you definitely get $75k+ in the powertrain/performance. The tesla is an amazing car all around. Glad you liked driving it!
  12. http://jalopnik.com/ford-is-only-building-37-shelby-gt350r-mustangs-for-201-1700631924 Ladies and gentlemen...welcome to the year 2015, when Ford introduces a $100k Mustang.
  13. It looks nicely done. Depending on when the supacharga was installed I'd be curious when (*if) it's had a replacement clutch installed...
  14. Not a lot of other people do either. I'll be curious how many Google hits they get from all the garbage going on out east. I'm going to cheer up this thread with a Comptech-supercharged NSX for sale: http://www.naplesluxuryimports.com/used-Naples-1991-Acura-NSX-Sport-JH4NA1153MT000886
  15. https://baltimoreohio.org/ Make sure you stop by IKEA on your way back in Westchester. Did they ever rebuild "Touchdown Jesus" after it burnt to the ground being struck by lightning?
  16. FUCK ME I'm in love with the A7-body...the RS7 is just that much hotter. Congrats in a major way!:thumbup:
  17. RUN http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/31/311912532f6c0c14b446314821320bf46c90e1d05f6ba73bd1eeacc20fe40015.jpg
  18. Welcome to the site...uhh, at least the passenger side looks pretty straight? Best of luck! Look forward to updates.
  19. Same here! Wife, FiL and I.
  20. Ohio Pyle...rafting/hiking, plus you've got Frank Lloyd Wright's "Falling Water" nearby. http://www.discoverohiopyle.com/ http://fallingwater.org/
  21. LOL, was going to suggest the same thing. Joe PAID people to dump dirt on his property.
  22. Jeremy, Robert, and the Ohio G Club guys are solid dudes. They may have done other events with CTD and Exotics but they still represent us.
  23. Congrats! Funny you mention "middle-of-the-road" BMW owners...just driving tonight next to what by all appearances (wheels, badging body kit) was a 6-cyl 5-series, but with a ferocious 4-tip exhaust like an M5. Super-bright aftermarket LED's shining on a "dealer" plate, and the driver looked the part. Lotta $30k-millionaires chasing after that look. Those poor, poor 528s/530s...
