  1. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=669&pictureid=6401 I lowered the front end this afternoon, and I have to say I'm really pleased. Cut 1.5 coils out of the front spring which lowered it a surprising amount, about 3-4". The great thing is it was fast and FREE, and there is only a little amount of daylight between the i-beams and bumpstops: i.e., there is no more I can lower for free without redesigning the front suspension (which I'm not doing) I drove it and the ride improved for the better! All the old farts that DD their Fords may not like the firmer ride, but I was used to a lowered Corvette; this is the BEST SUSPENSION UPGRADE I"VE EVER DONE FOR FREE! There's a bit of camber, but I was surprised at how little. Not worried at all, as it handles a little better in turns, and with cheapie 15" tires a little more wear won't bother me in the long run. Looking forward to lowering the rear with a front shackle flip...
  2. 8===D~~~ That's how I feel about the CTS-V. Too bad my Passat is still a solid performer...
  3. Good call! My wife emailed ours to me. She couldn't believe it...$248! I told her the same thing: A/C works overtime to maintain (even WITH 8 days off compliments of the Derecho storm), and we have 10 recessed 60w can lights in every room of our house my wife insists on leaving on, like it's McDonalds and the fries need to stay warm. :fuuuu:
  4. They need to take a note from Everglades City, as well as my other swampy neighbors in SW Florida: Go vertical with a concrete slab and pillars to elevate the living space, then use the ground level as non-living garage/storage space. http://blog.topsider.com/wp-content/uploads/Topsider_Double_Pedestal_House_Virgin_Islands.jpg Flood comes along? Zero Farkhs Given.
  5. I'm not complaining about UA (I don't have a pool membership)...I'm complaining that a brand new pool being staffed is FREE, with a $1 card membership good elsewhere. Don't tell me they make their money selling $1 popsicles either...
  6. http://www.columbusunderground.com/new-dodge-pool-in-franklinton-is-a-hit-this-summer I drive through Franklinton every day for work, and I have to admit that area is definitely a great location for a rebirth, given it's proximity to downtown, some cool industrial/commercial complexes ripe for redevelopment, and totally depopulated. But, we're still overdue for a 100-year flood, and WHERE IS THE MONEY COMING FROM? UA put in a very nice waterpark, which cost us taxpayers to make and it's $160 a season for a family membership. Who is subsidizing this pool if it's free, with a $1 Parks and Rec card?
  7. Civil Air Patrol checking in! (srsly)
  8. I like the Fox-body convertible in the background!
  9. Parked is just as good. Doors open to shield brotacos from enemy water attacks. No bouncing around will prevent water balloon breakage in bed. Engine can run to power the pump.... I'm starting to think you could even run one pump, with a y-diverter into two hoses...one for each bro. The problem is that bishes be smart and they'll stay away from the truck after the first soak down. Maybe get a lot of hose so you can move away from the truck? 19" cable on pump...that thing is residing in the engine bay. Be careful of hose running from barrels in truck bed through the engine bay and battery, especially if engine is running so alternator charges battery. Worst case scenario, still have backpack sprayers, supersoakers for mobile ops. Pump can still reload other bro water weaponry. Fight the good fight, Geoff. CR expects pictures of your inevitable triumph over the womens. I suggest GoPro dash cam...
  10. If the object is ultimately to get the girls, you need to be more concerned with volume of water...the wetter the better, and you want to get the job done quickly. Strap a couple of 55gal plastic drums in the back (foodservice barrels), and get some garden hose or other decent diameter cheap hose from a hardware store. Some sort of volume-focused siphon pump (from Harbor Freight? Electric, or hand pump?). I envision 4 bros in the back, in 2-man teams (one per barrel). One pumps, the other hoses. Have a 5th bro in the passenger seat doing drive-bys with a heavy water gun. Does the truck have a sliding rear window? water balloons in the truck bed. pumping crews can use the balloons at their discretion, or pass seat bro can grenade attack from inside the truck cab. Decorate the truck too. Girls love decorated trucks.
  11. Shade + breeze = nice! Standing over smoking Datsun rally racer + intense nuclear fusion reaction 2 miles overhead = Schweaty bawls.
  12. We had more than 30 last week... ...and the temperature was 1000* IN THE SHADE. I saw someone's ceramic header coating peeling away!
  13. NPR, Bloomberg have been talking about this for weeks. It will be interesting to see their GDP figures later today... BRB, reallocating Chinese stock holdings (Baidu, Tencent)...
  14. I think Kevin Clifford. That's what I think.

  16. Chinese car company lies and rigs their own naming contest for a shitty car? http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSJ1mxljfHLtQo3T4AI9rNAx5j7C0xWWf30jcBaRYcJCq8wEEfTALSCnYs3_g http://jalopnik.com/5924991/how-shills-from-warren-buffetts-chinese-car-company-stole-their-own-facebook-contest In other news: The sky is blue, water is wet... I'm a cheap-ass to the nth degree...and you will NEVER see me buying a Chinese car. Far too many reputable companies producing quality products to select this garbage.
  17. I have a coworker working on a 1978 FJ40. The stock Aisan carb needs a rebuild; the truck is 100% original. He's gotten a quote for $200 for a rebuild, and $350 for a Weber carb with the adapter plate and all linkages... Any 2F Toyota Inline-6 experiences out there? Thanks...
  18. No...this thread is about a Bentley in Heath. :lolguy:
  19. I looked at alternatives to AEP for supplying electricity (short of clicking on the ad links saying "THIS MAN GENERATES HIS OWN POWER! ELECTRIC COMPANIES HATE HIM!") and I am voluntarily choosing to keep with AEP. I'm not happy about the rates, but unless I change my personal habits I cannot blame AEP for charging more for a valuable and necessary service in my life. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  20. In UA, slept like a baby last night. This made the national NPR news feed this morning though...
  21. My kid was watching Spongebob Squarepants and I nearly spit out my coffee when I read Ernest Borgnine in the credits. I thought it was a joke. He apparently did play a Captain Barnacle character. Funny stuff. I remember him as Stringfellow Hawk's copilot in "Airwolf". Oscar be damned...
  22. Goodguys LOL Arthritis Car Show FTW.
  23. Scott, any chance you only need one tip? Was thinking about one for Cleetus...
