Congratulations, Patrick! I remember you very much looking forward to getting this thing over. Excited to see updates as they come along. Love how the CMW pieces look on the platform. Would love to see it at CC&C or out and about sometime, once it's up and running.

Wow. Looks great with the tails and that bumper

I’m going to Bob Ras tonight at Bottoms Up on Roberts Road, but keep CR updated with where you’re going to be in the future! -
Wow, that little thing left quietly but BOOKED...

Looks great but why didn't you polish the headlights while the bumper was off? Thing would look like a 50k-mile car...

Normies are attracted to: 1) Brand 2) Styling (body, wheels, stance) 3) Sound Have to say that Jaguar is the cheapest option to impress normies. Lotta money when new, but mainstream enough to maintain albeit not cheaply. Mercedes would come in 2nd, as they overbuilt for the lease market and depreciation is intense. The bigger engine you can get, the better. If you want to get "cute", MINI's have fallen in price. Not the manliest, but people instantly recognize the car. https://www.mercedesexpert.com/vehicle-details/2002-mini-cooper-s-john-cooper-works-hatchback-aefbb95a5b7247ee805e27671fdd320e Lastly, the quintessential "normie"-transition vehicle that both normies and enthusiasts the world over will be drawn to.......... Jeep Wrangler. https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/1987-jeep-yj-wrangler/6594302674.html https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/2000-jeep-wrangler-hardtop/6596523107.html

Sounds like you're doing what you need to organically to grow the business as much as you can handle. Respect for you asking - 6 months in - how you can be working smarter, not harder, at growing your business. Leverage your wife and others, don't be ashamed; you need to have other people be your advocate as much as possible for other jobs. If you're working for a company on one small job, but you know there's a lot of more work this company gives out, maybe ask your contact for higher-up opportunities they give out to other jobbers? Ask them if anyone isn't doing as good of a job as they hoped, and you can clean up the work? Existing clients can be the greatest referral source for new companies/business.

Greg, I tell everyone... When I'm driving around UA in my '78 Lincoln, I can't go anywhere without someone saying to me or my wife they saw me rollin'. It's not sporty, but aside from the airbag kit it has truly been almost maintenance-free since I bought it and put $250 in tune-up parts back in November of '16. Not a bad way to spend $1500. Plus, the DGAF factor is yuuuuge in an old land yacht. No one cuts you off, you're in no rush to make that turn, or speed to get to your destination. Plus, your kids lose their minds riding around in something so ridiculously NOT NORMAL.

Dude, I must've missed Chris's exploits from his posts back in September. Damn...that's a labor of love. -
Thanks, guys! I'll look into those options.

Well, that should take care of the sluggish automatic problem.

I've not done much restorative body work, but I want to reattach the lower M3-style rocker to my E36. In addition, I installed a roll pan on the back of my Silverado, and I need to use seam sealer to make some permanent seals to ward off water and improve adhesion for the body kit. Does anyone recommend a product? Something that can be somewhat precisely used, or slathered on thicker for a joint seal? When I watch Akira-san do a body kit, what's the stuff he uses to join the kit to the body? That's the stuff I want...I think ... http://blog-de.kwautomotive.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/low_RWB-Miyabi-Build-KL-41.jpg

I was impressed. I'd have to premeditate crapping on the floor for at least 2-3 minutes before performing the act. I'd be simultaneously yelling at the employee and loading Torpedo Tube 1 to drop a deuce that quickly. TH Employee: "Uhh, Mister Clay? I'm sorry your Tim Horton's coffee was cold, but your face looks really red and veins are popping out of your neck..." Angry Me: "Hang on...I'm going to teach you guys a lesson!!! Hang....on....hnnngh...could all of you just turn around for a sec? I'm still really pissed off at all of you but I can't teach you guys a lesson when you're staring at me. Hnnngh....hnnngh....I'm totally going to teach everyone a lesson...in about 1 minute or so..." Also, that is a move you make when this world has nothing else to give you, that you've extracted all the value out of society that you could ever need. We all get hangry from time to time, but this is a finishing move you need to contemplate before executing. There's no putting that cat back in the bag....

I admit, last year I was wondering what was up with that front bumper. New brackets, lights, and some effort made a huge difference. Looking great!

Mail-In Rebate, Limit 4 rebates???. Menards sells the 1gal containers but there is a rebate for the 2.5gal. See if the link below works: https://www.menards.com/main/assets/rebates/9578.pdf?rebate1=9578&rebate2=&rebate3=&rebate4=&rebate5=&rebate6=&rebate7=&rebate8= I didn't realize until just now that you can submit a rebate online...should be worth your time now.

You did WAAAY more than I admit I would do. I've had bad gas experiences with BP in the past so I swear off it, but I know everytime I fill up at pretty much any station (even Shell/Sunoco) I'm taking a gamble. Saving up for a Tesla...
-
I run it in my older junk (Silverado, BMW) with good results...not needing to be a diesel engine to benefit from Rotella T6  I am balls deep in Menard's these days. Love the 11% rebate - which you ALSO get on top of the Rotella rebate, BTW! - and the building materials for home projects are really good for pretty cheap prices.
-
I just paid $19.99 a gallon for Rotella T6 5w-40, and Shell has a rebate program to get $7 back per gallon. Even with two bottles for an oil change (1gal=3.78L) that's some dirty cheap orrl. It's Menard's Rebate #9578. FYI, y'all.

With the dimensions of the 6x6s (both plastig in the link above, as well as the rotten timbers in my patio) being 5.5" x 5.5", I may end up going with the 5x5's for almost 1/3 the cost. I need to replace a lot of these timbers as I have stairs and some elevations as well.

Was looking at AFR heads after JoeNova's build breakdown yesterday.... $2500. Just for the heads. Yeah, Grant's gonna want to get a pullout 4.8 motor/ECU and stab it in with a bolt-on used T56 to stay around $2500. Add bolt-on mods as the budget allows down the road, but just get the car running/driving for now.

Not to go too OT, but I was up in Troy, MI for a business offsite meeting a few weeks ago and Waze had me go to the wrong address. I re-routed and it took me through this old-money neighborhood. Off to the left was some 1900s ivy-league-looking campus...then I passed the sign..."CRANBROOK". I nearly sh!t myself. I told my coworker in the car with me about the 8Mile reference, and how I can't see anything "Cranbrook" (including a housing community near me off of Kenny Road, north of Ackerman) without cursing it's existence. BTW, F*k Michigan. The weather blows, the highways are HORRENDOUS both from an unnecessary traffic as well as ROAD DAMAGE standpoint, and everything looks 25 years' past it's prime. Congrats on getting the bike to work!
