Sounds like you're doing what you need to organically to grow the business as much as you can handle. Respect for you asking - 6 months in - how you can be working smarter, not harder, at growing your business. Leverage your wife and others, don't be ashamed; you need to have other people be your advocate as much as possible for other jobs. If you're working for a company on one small job, but you know there's a lot of more work this company gives out, maybe ask your contact for higher-up opportunities they give out to other jobbers? Ask them if anyone isn't doing as good of a job as they hoped, and you can clean up the work? Existing clients can be the greatest referral source for new companies/business.

Greg, I tell everyone... When I'm driving around UA in my '78 Lincoln, I can't go anywhere without someone saying to me or my wife they saw me rollin'. It's not sporty, but aside from the airbag kit it has truly been almost maintenance-free since I bought it and put $250 in tune-up parts back in November of '16. Not a bad way to spend $1500. Plus, the DGAF factor is yuuuuge in an old land yacht. No one cuts you off, you're in no rush to make that turn, or speed to get to your destination. Plus, your kids lose their minds riding around in something so ridiculously NOT NORMAL.

I've not done much restorative body work, but I want to reattach the lower M3-style rocker to my E36. In addition, I installed a roll pan on the back of my Silverado, and I need to use seam sealer to make some permanent seals to ward off water and improve adhesion for the body kit. Does anyone recommend a product? Something that can be somewhat precisely used, or slathered on thicker for a joint seal? When I watch Akira-san do a body kit, what's the stuff he uses to join the kit to the body? I was impressed. I'd have to premeditate crapping on the floor for at least 2-3 minutes before performing the act. I run it in my older junk (Silverado, BMW) with good results...not needing to be a diesel engine to benefit from Rotella T6 :thumbup: I am balls deep in Menard's these days. Love the 11% rebate - which you ALSO get on top of the Rotella rebate, BTW! - and the building materials for home projects are really good for pretty cheap prices.

I just paid $19.99 a gallon for Rotella T6 5w-40, and Shell has a rebate program to get $7 back per gallon. Even with two bottles for an oil change (1gal=3.78L) that's some dirty cheap orrl. It's Menard's Rebate #9578. FYI, y'all.

With the dimensions of the 6x6s (both plastig in the link above, as well as the rotten timbers in my patio) being 5.5" x 5.5", I may end up going with the 5x5's for almost 1/3 the cost. I need to replace a lot of these timbers as I have stairs and some elevations as well.

Was looking at AFR heads after JoeNova's build breakdown yesterday.... $2500. Just for the heads. Yeah, Grant's gonna want to get a pullout 4.8 motor/ECU and stab it in with a bolt-on used T56 to stay around $2500. Add bolt-on mods as the budget allows down the road, but just get the car running/driving for now.

Not to go too OT, but I was up in Troy, MI for a business offsite meeting a few weeks ago and Waze had me go to the wrong address. I re-routed and it took me through this old-money neighborhood. Off to the left was some 1900s ivy-league-looking campus...then I passed the sign..."CRANBROOK". I nearly sh!t myself. I told my coworker in the car with me about the 8Mile reference, and how I can't see anything "Cranbrook" (including a housing community near me off of Kenny Road, north of Ackerman) without cursing it's existence. BTW, F*k Michigan. The weather blows, the highways are HORRENDOUS both from an unnecessary traffic as well as ROAD DAMAGE standpoint, and everything looks 25 years' past it's prime. Congrats on getting the bike to work!
