  1. Good luck. I went on a job fair day and my uncle works there. I couldn't get in w/ two college degrees...
  2. I agree w/ most of what you said, but I think this statement is a little too strong and tend to agree w/ Chafe -- he's not an isolationist -- see below. Isolationism is a foreign policy which combines a non-interventionist military policy and a political policy of economic nationalism (protectionism). In other words, it asserts both of the following: 1. Non-interventionism - Political rulers should avoid entangling alliances with other nations and avoid all wars not related to direct territorial self-defense. 2. Protectionism - There should be legal barriers to control trade and cultural exchange with people in other states. I think non-interventionism is pretty close although I think he would probably go to war in a situation like WWII, but otherwise would keep us here. I think he's anything but a protectionist though as he wants to have open trade and communication with other nations.
  3. Sure -- Wants: - Lower taxes - Us out of Nafta, Cafta, and UN as they hurt our economy and sovereignty as a nation - Us out of Iraq - To end our overseas empire in terms of having bases all over the planet costing the country tons of $$ - Right to Bear Arms to stay intact - To keep families with the ability to choose schooling for their kids (not have Government mandated education programs) - Less welfare -- welfare cripples our society and gives people too easy a way out of working to better themselves & their lives - Secure Borders, deportation of illegals, crackdown on illegal employers - The right to privacy -- the government has lessened this right under Bush - To stop special interests from using Eminent Domain to drive families from their homes. - Social Security problem addressed -- specifically to get a sound monetary policy in place so that American can keep benefits the same for seniors -- the problem is government spending social security money for things besides social security. - Health Care: * Making all medical expenses tax deductible. * Eliminating federal regulations that discourage small businesses from providing coverage. * Giving doctors the freedom to collectively negotiate with insurance companies and drive down the cost of medical care. * Making every American eligible for a Health Savings Account (HSA), and removing the requirement that individuals must obtain a high-deductible insurance policy before opening an HSA. * Reform licensure requirements so that pharmacists and nurses can perform some basic functions to increase access to care and lower costs. - Local cities & states to decide what children are taught in school, not the federal government - Foreign Policy -- less meddling in other countries' affairs. He wants us to have relations with everyone and trade, but not us trying to tell the world how to behave. - Wants a strong military and defense for the country, but does not want to use it to push other countries around In a nutshell -- less government, less world policing, secure the ports and borders, boot the illegals, bring the troops home and put an end to our overseas empire, take care of our economy here, get a stronger dollar. I'm sure there are things I forgot, but you can check out the website for all the issues and his stance on them. Overall a very good, well educated person, with great ideas for the country. I think the country needs him. People give him a very hard time in the debates despite what he's saying makes a lot of sense. Hope this helps.
  4. Wow, didn't know that. That makes me about as sad as watching OSU tonight.
  5. Yeah. I don't trust him or Romney. They both seem 100% shady to me. Go Ron Paul! Hope you guys watched the Town Hall clips on You Tube. I hope he does good tomorrow. I sent a few E-Mails to his campaign asking him to please run as an Independent if he doesn't get the Republican nomination.
  6. I'm with ya fellas -- the BCS is a joke. The matchups are rediculous, and LSU does not deserve to be in the title game. There were other teams out there with only 1-loss that had already ranked higher than LSU. That was just rediculous favoritism that allowed them to leap-frog everybody to #2. Rediculous. Same thing goes for matchups like Missouri & Arkansas, I mean WTF.
  7. Truly a gorgeous car. I didn't see a price tag in the one article I read that was linked -- I had heard on Corvette Forum that it was going to be between $100k and $125k -- anybody have any info? The Z06 can be had for a base price of $68k so I was hoping maybe that 6-figure estimate was just speculation running wild, but if it's a low-production number that will definitely skyrocket the MSRP...truly curious if any of you guys have more info. Beautiful car!
  8. Yeah most places are saying that. Not looking good, but I'm trying not to be too hasty.
  9. Yeah I used Intel for a very long time as well, then when the Athlon 64s were stomping the Pentium 4 and Pentium D's I moved over to a 3700+ San Diego and then to this one about 18 months ago. I need a Q6600. Waiting to see if Phenom goes anywhere though...time will tell. Intel is hot right now though.
  10. Congratulations to you.
  11. I'm hoping my CPU can keep up. It did okay on the Demo -- some settings on High some on Medium. 8800 GTX here, but my 4400+ Toledo X2 is a major bottleneck.
  12. I played the demo. Hoping to get it for xmas. Glad to hear it's good.
  13. I have a Retail version of the Sapphire X1950 XT/256MB PCI-E 16x card at home currently along with a matching waterblock. Would love to unload these both. Video Card: $110 Waterblock: $25 Pair: $125 I used them for around 10 months before upgrading my system further. I never had any problems with the card at all. The stock heatsink/fan are essentially new as I used the waterblock from day one until the day I replaced the video card with something newer -- that day I pulled the waterblock off and put the stock heatsink back on to test it and it worked fine. I used arctic silver ceramique when re-installing the stock heatsink. Any questions please let me know. Sold as-is.
  14. Yeah I just noticed that -- big jump. It was like 11.x million yesterday or the day before. Go Ron! What's the deal w/ Huckabee jumping up so fast? If you look at his policies, his Iraq & Immigration policies strike me as just like Bush...which is exactly why I won't vote for him. Those are the two most important issues to me currently. If the Immigration & Iraq issues are resolved and our nation is secured, the economy will take care of itself. What do you guys think?
  15. Shoulda been longer. Rape penalty should be death if proven guilty. Both crimes make me sick.

    Spybot v1.5.*

Yeah, I've got it on our company-wide image at work. Ever since the upgrade from 1.4 it's very slow when launching and when doing updates. Hopefully they work out the bugs in the next revision. Seems to work fine, just slow, like you said.

    Ron Paul

Yeah, been looking around at all the candidates and checking out their views on pretty much everything. Ron Paul is the most closely in-line with my views that he's worth truly supporting. I also like Fred Thompson, but I like Ron Paul's views on foreign policy better as Thompson is more along the lines of Bush.

    Ron Paul

I'm finally convinced. I just donated.
  19. I agree. There are only 3 teams that deserve a shot at this with OSU -- Kansas, Hawaii, and Georgia. To let LSU jump them all with a 2-loss record is just unfair to the other 3. Strength of schedule is not a valid argument for anyone to use -- the individual teams do not pick their schedules.
  20. I actually liked all the Predator movies including the AVP movie from a few years ago -- I never could get into the Alien line of movies, but loved the Predator and yes, this next one looks bad ass.

    Vote!

Any tax levies up? I gotta make sure I shoot 'em down. Seriously though, what issues are up, you guys know?
  22. I felt both of those passes were uncatchable and that's why they weren't called. Now one thing Verse, you failed to mention was the opening drive for OSU on their 3rd down "incompletion" the refs totally ignored the PSU guy all over the OSU receiver in a situation where the ball was definitely catchable, but this forced OSU to have to go for a field goal. They also took away what was apparent to me to be a solid touchdown from Robiskie there toward the end. I was happy to see OSU just walk it right back into the endzone. Bottom line, verse, I felt the referee calls were totally in favor of PSU last night and was just happy to see OSU rise to the challenge of a challening PSU team, an extremely loud and hostile environment, and home-town ref crew.
  23. They really did play pretty good tonight. I was a little worried at first that the Penn State referee crew were gonna totally give our game away. They came through in spite of it all though. Go Bucks!

    Colbert '08

You can't think like that. Even people with 1-2% like Ron Paul or Gravel could turn it around with the right combination of events (well maybe not Gravel) -- and I don't think Colbert will have a small percentage like that. I personally think he'll probably have atleast a double-digit following right off the bat just because of who he is and the fact that most people in the country are so sick of partisan crap and dirty politicians that we truly have NOTHING to lose. The country's already on its way to hell in a handbasket...I don't think Colbert could do much more damage than is already done. Just my two cents.
