Hey Jeff, the mk4 jettas, (99-04) bodystyle weighs about between 3000-3300lbs depending on which model/options you get. Obviously the v6, auto, leather, power/heated everything is HEAVY, so it wouldn't be that far off your ws6. BTW, haven't gotten the body off, my dad decided to take a 10day vacation to colorado last sunday, lol, and isn't back. I'm down for some autox this summer in the miata, once I fix a few things! I've heard its a blast but never tried it.

engine/trans came apart no prob, and I got the engine torn down to the timing wheel, or whatever you want to call it, but it won't slip off the hub, sonofabitch! any ideas.

I'm looking for a car that doesn't need anything major, runs and drives fine, paint/body in good/decent shape, don't really care about miles if it looks taken care of. Would like a stick but open to autos. It must be RWD, and either be a v8 or a turbo of some sort. I've got up to $6k cash to spend, but realistically would like to be between $4-$5k so I have money leftovers for maintence, unexpected shit or mods. Thanks

I'd like to remove my e-cam from my 5.0 tonight or tomorrow, but not sure how to do it. The engine is currently out of the car, on an engine hoist, so access is not a problem. Any help appreciated, and if someone wants to, give me a call at 595-5536 tonight since I won't be able to check my computer until tomorrow morning. Otherwise I'll just attempt it tomorrow. thanks

Which one was Tony from Forcefed? ahahaha, i remember that place back in the day, basically where slomo is now. I just remember this plump balding guy who had some badass rides, a turbo miata and a swapped 2.5rs I believe, if not its at least turbo'd. Hmm, wonder why then went under, lol. They did hook me up OK when I went there, I was 16, didn't know shit about cars and they charged me $80 to install my springs/shocks and header back exhaust, to this day they were still cool and I think if they had more of a business sense they'd be doing ok. They just enjoyed the perks too much I believe.

+1, did this for my ex and she's MUCH better off now, even got a nice car loan and decent rates/limits on CC's. And I know what your saying about building credit with a car loan, but it doesn't matter if its a $20k car or a $5k car, either way, you make the payment everytime, on time, its all the same in building your credit, you just save a helluva lot of money to get there.

god damn, I was pissed I could only get a 6.1% rate on my 04 when I bought it used in 05, and financed 14k at only 19years old. I seriously thought twice about just buying another beater and saying fuck nice cars for a few years until I could get a nice downpayment or something, but 6% isn't bad, and my car should be paid off next year on a 5 year loan. But 17%!!!! On a $15k+ loan, JESUS H CHRIST, sorry but damn, having a cool car is NOT worth that too me. Should've bought a foxbody for a couple grand and had fun rather than shelling out $500+/month. Oh yeah, enjoy the GTO.

+1 on the 6 rule, easy way to get around that is use your wifes/gf's name every once in a while, and your parents if they don't care. Or just don't title some of the cars if you can flip them fast enough. I've been through about 35cars in the past 2 years, some I bought because I wanted to drive/whatever, some I just bought solely to flip.

What needs to be looked at on the trans? I'm lightly interested, I just checked out a 98 on friday for a little less, but I like black better.
