Dad's got an 09 since new, no issues with mileage around there either. This is his 5th suburban or so and he runs them 120-150k miles in 5 years and buys another. No major issues afaik.

Cool, off to stock up on some ammo then. I bought 100rds of whitebox winchester's from local walmart for $32 a week or two ago, looking online that seems a pretty good price even when shopping for 1000rds.

What about 'dirty' ammo? I haven't found anything my m&p won't fire, and it's had about 10k rounds through in that I can figure but I've always bought what I 'thought' was nicer/cleaner ammo for reasons I'm not sure of, maybe heard it on the web? Although I always clean my guns so maybe this is less of an issue than I'm imagining?

I dunno but my electric bill just TRIPLED this month from last and I have GAS heat. Riddle me that? Fucking AEP, it's higher than it has been at all this year and both months were ACTUAL. Of course when I called they are closed. :fuuuu:

What brand do you recommend buying or at least staying away from? There are so many options and I've never bought anything except at Walmart/Vances/a range and never in bulk. Is there a price-point you try and stay around to feel there is a good value there? I have a .40 now but am considering picking up a 9mm for my next handgun purchase mainly due to ammo price difference. Is there a noticeable difference in ability take someone down with 9mm/.40? What is your preference? Obviously I have no military experience and am just asking for another persons opinion.

I was just talking about this with a buddy last week. I was thinking 1k per caliber was a good starting point. Where do you guys shop for best deals? I was looking online and on some calibers I didn't see any savings to buying in bulk, if anything some was more expensive. Also, do you have to do any to 'protect' the ammo when storing for long periods? Just curious.

I also liked the thought of having 'two guns in one' and since I already have an m&p 40c this barrel and mags would allow me to have 9mm as well as add a suppressor if I'd like. Not a good idea?
