  1. It's already been done. Thought I mentioned that in the OP but guess not. I suspect I screwed something up somewhere but I can't seem to find the hiccup.

I also signed up for the UNMS thing on their website because of the nag screens but it'll get deleted because I don't have more than 10 devices or something... Anyway, I keep getting this warning.

CPU on device gbt-ubnt has been over 90% for over 5 seconds.

EDIT: I've been looking for an ER4 but seems like everyone else is also because I can't find one reasonably priced. I'm not tied to this thing, only using it because it was here so if I can find a reasonable replacement i'll do that too. Just tired of dropping hundreds on routers every year.

  2. Yet another WiFi router has died. I don't know why but here in my house, i'm lucky if they last a year. Last was a TPlink Archer C3200, now it was an Archer C5400X. For some reason, on both, there is no LAN to WAN communication. They seem to work ok as an AP by turning off DHCP but they are still overall flaky needing reboots about daily now.

With that rant out of the way, I installed my EdgeRouter Lite and put the old routers both in AP mode to handle wifi. The problem is the ERL is garbage. I was getting 600Mbps throughput, then I tied it to UNMS cloud or some shit like the interface recommended. Then I updated the firmware and boot loader is some shit that was also recommended but now the throughput is around 90Mbps... This thing is terribly slow. It was WAY snappier and much better throughput before all their BS updates. Any ideas?

What the hell kind of router can I buy that is a tank? I'd prefer something wired and robust so I can just leave the setup as it is but why pay for gigabit service if this trash router throttles it?

  3. Also, look into 22lr shot shells, depending on how large a varmint you're going after.

Racoons mostly, occasionally possum. I've seen those and we both like the quiet but they won't cycle a semi-auto. I was going to try the supressor version which reviews say they are nearly as quiet but will cycle a semi-auto.

Quiet has a velocity of 710, Supressor is 970. I have some standard velocity that are rated at 1070, might just say F it and use those.

Next time i'm out i'll probably grab some of the shotshells. May as well try those too.

  4. F’n pandemic and hoarders. I snagged a small box of these pre-pandemic and gave them to my neighbor who uses them to dispatch pests (raccoon, possum, etc) that terrorize the neighborhood. He’s out and I can’t find them or anything close anywhere. Anyone got some hoarded away? Willing to drive a good way and pay a fair price for a box.

  5. Third gen Camaro's. Specifically IROC's. Just dumb.

I’ve debated on getting another 4th gen because I hate the newer style. I’d probably end up on the dumb side of pricing but that’s still better than 50k+ on a new one imho. I could get a great shell and drop a dumb 1000 hp motor and drivetrain into it but still be less than a 5th gen or newer.

To me, that’s what’s driving the market in this direction. You either pay out the nose for the new convenience and performance or you put hard earned money, blood and sweat into an older chassis. Seems like many are opting for the latter. I’d love a hellcat but no way I’m paying 80k on one. I’d much rather dump 20k into some other shitbox for funsies. But now, economy the way it is I’ll just keep my Walmart roadmaster bike tuned up.

  6. I'm not a Jeep or truck guy, but that 392 Wrangler is BA. Would probably cost $100k new though.

If they are smart it won’t. The 392 charger/challenger lineup is somewhat reasonable. If they price it well, it will dig in to those considering a bronco plus drive existing wrangler owners into an un-needed early upgrade.
