  1. You should probably study more about him, why he left, watch his full and more recent sets, and learn more about what he's done behind the scenes.

Just go talk to him. He hangs in Xenia and is a cool dude if you catch him out and about.

  2. I have a cannon, it’s good. Was a gift so can’t complain there but wish it had a key backup. Inside long gun storage is meh but works well enough. If you are a home-brew engineer type, moving them isn’t bad at all. I had mine more than 3/4 into the basement before the FIL stopped by to help. Went much faster and easier admittedly after his arrival but hey, I was managing.
  3. I had a few squibs in 45, contacted their CS and was basically told to pound sand. I started asking around and there were many other reports of similar issues so I’ve opted to voice my concern with my $. Hopefully they work out well for you, they didn’t for me.

Edit: to be fair I’ve never had an issue with any of my 9, haven’t touched any of the 40 yet but the 45 I won’t use anymore. I’ve also moved what I have left in all calibers from them to the back of the SHTF pile.

  4. I have purchased a lot of my reloading stuff from Fin Feather and Fur. They have a big store in Ashland about 70 miles north off I-71 at exit 186. The entire basement is reloading stuff. Their prices are also better than any place I have seen in Columbus.

I used to live about 15 mins from the Boardman Fin location. I would go there before anywhere else for supplies. Now it's a bit more of a drive and I'm about equidistant from the Canton or Boardman locations. Luckily I work over near Toledo so the hotel I usually pick is a walk away from their Rossford location. I try to pop in and stock up while on the road.

If anyone hasn't been there yet, it's worth a trip. (Maybe when all this dies down)

  5. I have a box of failed prints and excess PLA. Does anyone have a good option for recycling this stuff? The right place could simply melt this stuff down and re-extrude it into filament as far as I know.

    Next hobby?! :gabe:

  6. I know there are options out there for powder charge indicating but I’m not to the place where I would really benefit from it. I don’t shoot nearly enough to justify the purchase so single stage is fine for now. I just like being able to make rounds when the tards drive up the price.
  7. Most of the complaints I see are within the setup of the press no matter the brand. After you work out the kinks, they usually flow well.

I’ve been debating on going progressive myself and the only caution I see over and over is to watch closely and be sure there is a powder drop. That’s the biggest miss on a progressive, people go into robot mode and miss a powder drop for a squib.

  8. Just saw this, didn't know it was a thing but here's a PSA for those that may have some HF jack stands.

Harbor Freight Recalls Jack Stands That Could Suddenly Collapse

If you have these, stop using them immediately. And tell your friends.

If you've got a set of Harbor Freight jack stands somewhere in your garage, stop using them immediately because many of them have just been recalled over pawls that could "disengage from the extension lifting post" under a shift in weight, causing them to suddenly collapse. We feel like this shouldn't have to be said but we'll say it anyway: bad jack stands that could suddenly fall are extremely dangerous and being underneath a car supported by one could very easily result in serious injury or death.

According to Harbor Freight, the recall applies to three-ton and six-ton heavy-duty steel jack stands with item numbers 56371, 61196, and 61197. The number on the three-ton units can be found on the label at the top while the six-ton stands have their numbers printed in the yellow section of the label found on the base.

Based on the NHTSA filing, the recall applies to a total of 454,000 jack stands made between 2013 and 2019 and the issue is apparently blamed on old tooling used by the factory. Naturally, affected stands that have yet to be sold have already been removed from Harbor Freight's inventory.

If you actually own one of these stands, you can bring them to your a Harbor Freight Tools location where they can be exchanged for a gift card equal to the "shelf price" of the stands in question. Whether or not you own a set of Harbor Freight jack stands (or even know what a jack stand is), consider spreading the news to somebody who you think might be using these. This may sound melodramatic, but it might just be the difference between life and death.

  9. Hope to not see a second flare-up happen in the next 2-3 months, otherwise this fall/winter will be fucked.

I’m more worried about school season and my kids.

Edit: the schools over here are already way too over crowded.

  10. I have a half face respirator for work that I can wear when needed for longer durations. I also found an old N95 mask from my steel mill days tucked away in the top of my old hardhat so I wear that out in public.

I wish there were more people wearing masks while out and I wish they would stress that masks DO NOT mean you can get close to people. I swear it seems like most people now either think the mask is a magic virus fix or they are just assholes and love to crowd close to people with a mask on.
