  1. I tend to fall into the theory that by letting the car sit with ionized water on it while it dries, pollen, and other airborne particulates settle onto the car that would normally get wiped off by towel drying (and swirling the paint, but thats another matter). I've used soap other than Mr Clean's in it and that worked just as well. You wet, you soap, you rinse with regular water, then you set it to "ionized, filtered", and rinse again. My bet is the advertised lack of water spotting comes from zero contaminants in the final rinse water. There seems to be no sheeting action additive, or any additive at all to the final filtered water. Still researching, but I'm finding nothing negative.
  2. Where'd you hear that? Got a link? I'd like to know, because if its true I'll stop using it. If its urban legend then I'm going to keep on using it because it works. Looked over the box again last night, saw no reference on the box/instructions/etc to any additive in the waterflow - just a filter cartidge.
  3. Joey - Is there a decent career mode in Forza, if you don't do XBox Live?
  4. I thought it was released next week sometime. Were you playing the demo? GT4 sucked balls - ok it didn't suck but it got repetitive as hell and the car selection was laughable/weepable.
  5. The system seems to use a two stage charcoal filter to decontaminate and ionize the water. You do not add any solution to the gun other than the soap, but there could be a tablet of some sort disolving in the filter cartridge softening the water. Regardless, it works.
  6. Two engines, one at 15psi, one at 30psi. The 30psi engine dies first. That EVO blows up before either of those Cobras. I've seen endurance tests of stock Cobra motors track run hard 24 hours at 10-20psi and came out looking pristine. Never seen the same out of a 30-40psi street anything. Yeah I agree that EVO owner has cracked open its block and is probably running some very high dollar aftermarket internals like you say - but my money is still on it grenading first. At 600 hp the Cobras are definitely running aftermarket fuel systems (or they're idiots) - but for all the ones I know people buy at that power level the fuel flow is nothing to them, nowhere near full cycle. You beleive one thing I beleive another. Sounds like a typical hypothetical bet neither of us can collect on. smile.gif
  7. Who wants to take bets on which of these three motors lasts longer? I know which EVO it isn't. High PSI makes for great short sprints, and that EVO hauled ass. But take all three cars and run em around a track for 12 hours in the config they were in that vid and one car is going home on a flatbed. Moderate boost + cubes > high boost
  8. I don't know - I've just been reading a fair bit of "smoothness of the LS2" and "personality of the LS6" and various back and forth blah blah about the two blocks... and well I'm just not seeing where either block is fundamentally better designed than the other. Or where one or the other would hold more power better than the other as they come out of the factory. But I'm still new to the LSx world.
  9. Your Ron Mexico name, the ultimate disguise, is Maximillian Mexico.
  10. When I say cracking open the block I include pushrods and piston swaps in that statement. In that vein which of the two series is more hardy - the LS6 or the LS2? Since I don't think anyone on this board owns an LS2 powered car, I'll probably be waiting for awhile on opinions. As for block bustin... I personally watched an LS1 blow off its bottom end (without a girdle). This was well over 500hp though.
  11. The Subarus and the Audi A4/S4 will be too small. The Lexus IS300 and Acura TL are marginally better, but still more for the little folk. Maxima or Ultima or the G35.
  12. It happens near the beginning - and its not even an attack or nothing - just an halucination. Made me jump. So Doom 3 is out on consoles? How boring is that? "Pardon me while I... t u u u u r n . a r o u n d . t o . s h o o t . y o u... *bang bang*". Gamepads = the suck Nancy Reagan: "Just say no [to FPS's on consoles]."
  13. +1 DOOM3 = walk into room, get ambushed by monsters appearing out of air, fight, walk into next room, get ambushed.... The scariest moment was the bathroom mirror. True story. After that... old, fast.
  14. Arguement on another forum - point came out that both the LS6 and the LS2 internals, specifically the bottom ends, are both good up to 500rwhp or so without modifying if one expects any real longevity out of them. Not worried so much on the numbers what I'm more interested in is do these two engines have about the same power tolerance without cracking open the block?
  15. Does xbox do HDTV? I have GT4 running in 1080i high def on my 65" widescreen at home (thx PS2 and polyphonic, woo hoo!) and if XBox can do HDTV too I will be uber happy.
  16. Sweet. I'll pay the $50 to get Live for the year then too, thats nothing. Forza's looking good - especially the car list that makes sense, not a bunch of obscure overseas "RedWagon Flyers" that we're supposed to beleive represent "racing and automotive history". Yeah right. Finally at least a real car list, which was my biggest beef with GT4 - they passed over a bunch of real, good, fast high performance cars to include a bunch of homemarket trash some old guy from Osaka was overly fond of and which couldn't even hold a candle to their overlooked contemporaries, much less modern machinery...
  17. I'm stoked. Finally, a decent game with a car I own in it. So I'm going to pick up an X-Box next week so I can play this thing. Can someone explain to me the deal with X-Box Live? Do I have to pay a subscriber service for it? Can I use my current broadband connection? etc.
  18. You cannot be charged with reckless op on your own property. In fact you can drive around cars, tractors, semi-trucks, TANKs, whatever the fuck you want. Smash em into each other. Have your unlicensed immigrant maid drive a few into trees. Just wanted to point out there's a difference between my own property and say a mall parking lot -which is considered "offstreet parking facilities" - and upon which a chunk of the vehicle code can be enforced, owner's request or no. But I'd like to see any police officer or other municipality official come onto my property and hand me a reckless op citation. I'd enjoy that. [ 22. April 2005, 11:10 PM: Message edited by: Mowgli ]
  19. All the ugly, none of the go-fast.
  20. ... just commenting on the masculinity of choir in general. *cough* complete lack thereof *cough*
  21. Best quote of the article: "GM is going to have to learn to compete." No shit.
  22. Cya Buick. And don't get too lippy either, Pontiac. I got my eye on you.
