  1. ^^^ Yeah, I've alread done some poking around on that site. Definitely some knowledgeable and helpful people over there.
  2. I just picked up this old school Club Racer style '74 Honda CB550 yesterday. Its in pretty good condition for being 35 yrs old, but could still use some more work. Its my first bike, and so far has been fun learning on. I'm planning on leaving it as is for the summer (besides any maintenance and tinkering that needs done), and doing more major work to it over the winter. These are just some quick pics I snapped in the garage today. http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o425/leerbowden/CB550/DSC03040.jpg http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o425/leerbowden/CB550/DSC03037.jpg
  3. The Marine Corps put me through the 63 week Arabic course at the Defense Language Institute when I first joined several years ago. It was designed to take someone with zero proficiency in Arabic (but a good learning ability) and be a functioning speaker, reader, and writer of the language. Although it was very long, it worked. Since it had been a couple years since attending that course, a few months ago I began Rosetta Stone course offered through one of our education networks as a refresher. It starts out at the basic level just like our DLI course, and progresses quite smoothly. As someone already skilled in the language, I was very impressed at how effective the teaching style is. If you have the cash to shell out for it, and have a serious drive to learn it, I recommend doing it.
  4. This thread is funny. Similar to a bunch of WoW players bickering...

    Your Job?

Loving my job. It's constantly changing and there is always something to learn. Co-workers are great, and provide that motivational push to be better. The job opportunities in this field are endless, to include everything from military to civil service to civilian contractors, and all pay pretty good. It took me a little while to get here since I wasn't real sure as to what I wanted to do, but I'm happy that I made it.

  7. I just had a few on tap this evening with some wings. A tour of the brewery would still be awesome though!
  8. Proper terms are handguards and picatinny rails respectfully. Not that anyone cares though...

Hmmm... a possible government plot to take Americans' minds off of their economic woes maybe? Interesting...
  10. Haha... I'm sorry, but I think frats are a fucking joke. Just gives college punks something to pop their chest out about.
  11. So drop out and quit smoking...

    Backup Weapon?

The Springfield XD has a 13 round capacity in .45 ACP...
  13. It's an outdated term with no real substantial definition. Most cars nowadays are manufactured overseas anyways. Ignorant people, who are only capable of appreciating one form of automotive modifying at a time use it. Real car people will appreciate a good, clean build when they see it, regardless of make or model. They're also the ones that can appreciate anything from classic muscle to mini-trucks to murdered out sedans.

    Backup Weapon?

Gerber/Leatherman tools make decent backups. Getting a blade out on them is obviously gonna be slow, but the good quality ones make nice blunt objects.
  16. All this talk about fully electric personnal vehicles, yet the fact that our commercial transportation industry (tractor trailers) produces more pollution through emissions than any other type of vehicle combined hasn't been mentioned. Yes, there has been serious work at making diesel fuel and the engines that burn it cleaner and more efficient here in the recent decade, but that doesn't change much when your talking in the trillions of miles traveled. Many believe that is the starting point. You convert the trucks that transport majority of our goods throughout the country to electric, and you will have put a much larger dent in this so called energy and environmental crisis than any other.
  17. Not even close to being a founding member, and I'd be surprised if anyone even remembers me, but after making a few appearances in my UFO during the summer of 2004, I left for the Marine Corps. Currently transfering from Monterey, CA to Camp Lejeune, NC. The UFO has been stripped and sold. I drive a pretty slow 2005 Scion tC now with the only mods including a CF vented hood and 19" Crux wheels. She does have a few lights on her though, haha...

    Friday Nov. 10th

Where and what time is everyone meeting up? I'm finally in the state for once (with my car) and wouldn't mind hanging out with everyone. Thanks...
  19. I like my women how I like my cheese: Fat-free, American singles only.
  20. Haha, yeah its been awhile since I poked my head around here. Of course the UFO no longer exists (parents sold it) and i'm no longer in Ohio, but i still enjoy checking up on things back home.
  21. It was everything that I expected out of a F&F movie, nuff said...
