Settle? That's all I look for an got lucky pretty quick. Not everyone is interested in crotchfruit.

Ah. I misread your post. I'd find a new PCP. Fuck two months. I don't care how minor a problem is, I'm not waiting 2 months to get it checked out if I'm to the point of feeling like I need to see a doctor about it.

I can give you a reccomendation for a guy that fixed me up for good for $85 (with insurance) It doesn't protect you from herpes and all that other fun stuff though.
-
Are you sure you even need the referral? I have a basic ass PPO plan through work and don't even need one to go to a specialist. Wasted 2 visits to my PCP before realizing it. Also, trim your toe nails. You look like you're growing it out to sniff your cocaine.

Awww...you guys are eskimo brothers!

Tried asking about it and they said they wouldn't do it and didn't know anywhere in town that would. Luckily they were cheap tires (under $100/ea) so with the road hazard discount on all 4, it was like $250 to get a brand new set of tires...and these things though cheap, wear slow as hell. I'll stick with them for that price and life.

Yep. Pissed me off when I hit something and trashed a tire about 20k old in my Subaru. Tire shop called Subaru and it was like 1/32 past what they would say was ok to just put a new tire on (IIRC, new was 10/32, old were @ 7/32). I got lucky though because the shop did road hazard on all 4 so it saved me about 40%. I made sure to get that road hazard again.

I don't think so, because it would open as I was driving up to the house, but it would not close while I was sitting in the driveway. It was dumb and pissed me off to have to get out of the car to close the garage.
-
oh shit. yeah, that's a bit worse. this weekend I realized I can walk unassisted for short distances (around the house), but it's with a pretty bad limp. BUT, being where I am ~4 weeks out and knowing how much pain I was in right after surgery, I'd say it's getting better quicker than I could've imagined. Thanks for the response. Hope your healing goes well.

must be a different issue, but I popped a new battery in my opener (in my car) and it works fine again. no clue why it would only open before and not close, but everything is good now.

Met my girlfriend on there. We had a mutual friend who wanted to set us up...4 months down the road. Seriously told me about her in September and wanted to organize a snow tubing trip in January for a bunch of people...said fuck that and started talking to her when I saw her on tinder. Glad I didn't wait. Then finally met her parents and siblings about 2.5 months later at Mitchell's steak house while her brother and sister in law were in town from CO. Neither of us wanted to tell her family we met on tinder, so when the question came up where we met, she started to say "we have a mutual friend" but I cut her off right at about "mutual" and said more than loud enough "blackpeoplemeet.com". Neither of us are black. 10 of us inside fuckin Mitchell's steak house all laughing so hard tears were flowing for a good 2-3 minutes. I'm sure the other guests hated us for a bit.

Bickel was awesome. To this day if someone I know has some sort of hand/wrist injury, I make sure to put his name out there. I really liked dealing with him.
-
that would drive me nuts having the speedometer on the side and the tach in the center.

I have the same issue. Usually only when it's cold. idk if that has anything to do with it. also, my openers are coming up on 7 years old, and never changed a battery, so that'll be my first step once I start using it again

Maybe it's just how I am, but I don't see how 95% of these people have the nerve to ask for money. Legit stuff (like your example of a house burning down), sure. I've got $3,500 in medical bills from an accident a few weeks ago that'll be coming in any day now. Do I have $3500? nope. But luckily I have insurance or it'd be 10x that amount. My dad told me I should start a page to try to raise the $3500. No thanks, Dad. I'll work with the hospital to get it paid off over time on my own. I'm not going to ask others to help me take care of something that has nothing to do with them. I'm not one for handouts and definitely not one to ask someone.

Pretty much. Was 65 degrees here on Christmas eve, so I decided to go out for a short bike ride. Hit a slick spot on a wooden bridge, rear tire slipped out, and down I went on the concrete part right after it. I was chatting with the surgeon about previous surgeries, including my wrist (and about how you referred me to Bickel a few years back) he said he knew you, and I can't remember if he said your brother or your dad...I was pretty high at the time. Richard Fankhauser was the surgeon though. He's been great. He said 2 months to be back to normal, and with the progress I've made in just under 4 weeks, I'm hoping that's realistic. I'm not a runner, but I'm hoping the low impact of cycling will be easy to get back into. Already got a stationary bike (per his recommendation) and it's helping with getting movement into my legs and loosening up the muscles a bit.

Do you recall your timeframe to be walking without any assistance? I was on crutches for 3 weeks, and working on transitioning to a cane for 3-4 days now...I just can't do it for long distances. Also, how long has it been, and are you back to where you were before the injury, or are you limited in some things/still feel it in there? Not a common injury, like a broken arm or something, so I haven't found too many people to ask.

mine is 1388 sq/ft. Was a 3br/1.5ba when I bought it. It's now a 2br but the new master is an actual master bedroom now.

$2800/yr and I'm in Westerville school district. I'll never bitch again when there is a $2-300/yr increase. then again, my house is definitely not in the same range as what's being mentioned in this thread.

I honestly have no idea about the process of this, but is it really a difficult thing to do? Friend of mine retired from Battelle a month or two ago and was going to do some contracting work. Said his first day of "retirement" he spent setting up his LLC and was back working the next day. Sorry, I don't have anything to offer, was just curious.

Just had surgery on Christmas day. Broke my femur on Christmas eve. Honestly, I didn't give a fuck who fixed me, as long as it was done. Worst pain in my life. I guess it's different from an issue that you're not in a rush to get done. In the end, the doc has done an absolutely amazing job. I've got a rod in my femur, 2 screws by my hip, 2 above my knee, and a couple cables around the break. In the x-ray, you can barely even see where the break was. He's an older guy, maybe early 60s? Brought his 8-10 year old grandson in with him on the day after Christmas to follow up on people. Kid even had his own little white coat. It was awesome. As of today I'm 3.5 weeks post surgery, walking with just a cane for short distances (getting around the office), and crutches for longer distances (from my desk to the parking lot, getting up and down steps). before - http://imgur.com/yxYSAIh after - http://imgur.com/knDmWA0

wait until the 270/23/315 construction bullshit is finished. I live by Easton and work off Sawmill rd, and the commute drives me insane almost daily. In the morning, traffic in the left lane will just stop right at or just after 315. Accident? NOPE. Just the inability for people to merge with traffic coming off 315s affecting every fucking lane of traffic. And don't get me started on the bullshit near stopped traffic every single day at 5pm going eastbound until you get past 23. Makes me want to kill myself.

I actually first reached out to Marc to see about some options on my girlfriends horrible ARM mortgage she took out for her condo. After discussing with him, I decided to look into options on my own home. I purchased in 2009 and had a 5.000% interest rate. Marc made the refi as painless as possible, got me into a new loan at 3.875% and I was able to drop my PMI. I was able to also pull a little bit of money out to do some upgrades to the house that are well needed. Best part was getting the appraisal report and seeing that in ~7 years my house has gone up about $45k in value, which means about 158% of the purchase price. All in all, Marc has been great. Still working on getting my girlfriend to look into her options, but for now, I'm all set and my house is going to get some upgrades to hopefully bump that value up a little bit more.
