Is it me, or are these commercials a bit odd? they're ones with "you make the bud?" "no, we make the power that makes the bud" "so without you there would be no bud? We like you"...or the GE employees who make cancer treatment equipment taking a big trip to see cancer patients, and there was another about building plane engines then a whole group on a runway watching a plane take off and cheering. Is it just me, or does anyone else have a "wtf" moment once seeing them?

Im with tim, aaron, and brian...in that order. -
Yep...and lol @ powder room...its not a bad range, but what is it...like $8 or $10 per 1/2hr...per person (even on the same lane, no less)? I went up there with my brother in law, he took his 32, i took my 9mm, 50 rounds each trying each others guns, and somewhat rushed to do 100 rounds between us to stay within the initial 1/2hr..i guess if you dont plan on staying long, a pay-by-the-half-hour place is fine...ive blown 4hrs at powder room and it was still $13

Exactly. Do you think .120" is enough? My roommate has a cargo carrier for her jeep, its 2" receiver but the square tube for the piece going into the receiver is about 3.5mm thick (as close as i could measure), which comes up to like .13x i believe. Im not sure what the weight capacity on it is, but i would venture to say it should be decent if its made for cargo

OVO for the $, but its in lancaster...$12-13 for unlimited time

unless "great price" falls under $100, i'll pass. lol. maybe once i get a new car i'll drop some coin on a nice vehicle specific system, but no exaggeration, my new bike is probably worth more than my car. and since i hope not to have it long, i dont want to buy something expensive for it.
-
yeah, i planned on getting one...otherwise someone can just run up and throw both bikes in their truck bed and drive off. lol. i ordered the hitch today, it should be here in a few days and i'll get it in...maybe i'll just get a piece of the tube and see how it handles a good portion of my weight.

i checked google...maybe im not searching the right terms...theres nothing showing at what weight a piece of steel tubing may bend...idk...i think im just gonna go for it, hopefully at < ~100lbs i wont need to worry about it bending...i guess if it does, im only out $40 and can just cut the frame off and switch to a solid steel piece down the road and weld the frame onto that.

just what i'd want to be wearing if that shit went sideways and started flipping at 160+...tshirt, gym shorts, flip flops.

im not complicating things at all, i can build exactly what i want for cheap, i already have the expensive parts ($32) i've gotten for free from my dad who is no longer using them. the tubing i need is $1.78 per foot (need ~18 feet), and $2.25 per cut (6 cuts). a friend i finally got ahold of can weld it all together for me for a few bucks, and i have exactly what i want for under $50. it not like i didnt look at all the options. to buy what i want to build, it'd be a couple hundred bucks. i dont want a hang on rack...an answer on my question would be fantastic though if anyone knows. lol

so, any opinions? should i be ok with 11ga steel tube?

I have to shave once a week...a razor seriously lasts me like 3 months. Inability to grow facial hair ftw, i guess. Lol

Theyre not expensive, they normally just sit higher than i would want, and the one im making, with the fork mount, i can clamp down the front fork, throw a pad lock on it and it will be secured and i can not have to worry about it getting stolen

So ive decided to ditch my idea for a rooftop bike carrier, mainly because im not comfortable using cheap $40 universal bars to carry my bike + possibly 1-2 others, and im not spending $400 for a car specific carrier So ive found a class 1 hitch for cheap, but i can only find it with a 1 1/4" receiver. I plan on making my own carrier, ive got fork mounts, and i can get square steel tubing cheap...the only wall thickness the place has is 11ga (.120"). Planning on having a ~36" or so piece coming out of the hitch, and a frame approximately 28"x40", most likely from the same size tubing. All together, i would hope this carrier would weigh less than 50 pounds. Carrying 2 bikes add another 40 or so. So should .120" thickness 1 1/4" steel tube be sufficient enough for the main 36" support post for this whole thing, to where i shouldnt be concerned it will warp/bend hitting bumps and such? The other option i have is to get a solid square 1.25" rod, which the guy said would be much heavier, comes with VERY square corners (might be issue if hitch has rounded corners) and to drill the hitch pin hole, it might be weeks (i guess theyre way behind...said might be able to get it in between jobs, but also may not). Thanks

1998 explorer 4wd 170k-ish miles. bought it in april 2010, have put less than 4000 miles on it (id have to check title...point is, i never drive it) Gray cloth interior, white exterior BFG A/Ts New EGR last year-ish (was running real rough, runs fine now, no stumbling like before) New alignment last year White exterior Some rust along rockers and roof rack rail and from rock chips on hood Locks don't work, horn doesn't work. never drove it enough to worry about it or kept anything in it. Mainly drove this to/from lowes for projects and such, drove it to work a handful of times Worst thing about it is it has a cracked radiator as of the last time I drove it (november-ish). I've got a buddy who can get me a new radiator for about $120 Looking to sell to put some cash towards something new, and get this off my insurance to save some $ there $2600 and i'll fix the radiator $2300 as is Title in hand I'll get a couple pics tomorrow...its dark out now. it looks like any other white, 98 explorer http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG2630.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG2631.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG2632.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG2633.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMAG2634.jpg

scum. there was a guy who came up to me at walmart on morse rd (before i decided to stop shopping there a couple years ago)...was like 11pm at night and he had a tattoo of a jaguar or something on his face...when he started walking up towards me, first action was my hand on my gun, tried to hustle me for the "im out of gas" shit, told him i didnt have any money, he looked at my hand in my pocket and was like "ok man, we're cool". about 6 months later, tried to pull the same shit on me at UDF down the road...since it was no problem to remember the stupid tattoo on his face, as hes walking up he goes "hey" and i cut him off, told him he already tried this shit on me a few months back, and he said nevermind and turned around. dumbass...at least do it with no stupid tattoo thats easily recognizable. my favorite though, was in FL when i was like 11-12ish, me and my younger brothers, (would have been 9 and 6 at the time) were walking through a shopping area as our parents were talking to friends, bum comes up asking for "a couple bucks for a cup of coffee"...i was smart enough to tell him i didnt have any, my youngest brother though says "sorry, all i have is a $10 bill"...the bum goes "oh that's fine, i have change for a $10"...my brother seemed cool with it until i pointed out if he has change for his 10, he doesnt need his $2 to get coffee. :lolguy:
