What I am missing is how worth is truly valued. Instagram, has 0 physical assets, it is all IP, and at that, it is IP that is old and has been done countless times over. How can a company like that be worth 1 Billion Dollars? The company I work for in Alaska is the Incumbent Phone Carrier up here. We have 2 Large Fiber Runs connecting Alaska to the Lower48, and we are only worth $730 Million. They don't even charge for their service. Where does their Revenue come from? It is back to the .com bubble again on the market.

1 Billion Dollars for an App, is extremely crazy. The guy who started it, is said to be getting close to 400 Million Dollars out of the deal, some 27 year old kid. I would venture to guess Facebook is buying this to kill it eventually. As all great companies do.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a dog. I would never buy a mixed breed Fila Brasileiro. I want the dog for what it was bred for. Just the same if I wanted to pure Bloodhound for actual tracking. I would want the most pure and best qualities for tracking. Does that mean his health quality is the best, no. His quality of what I want out of him is the best.

For the reason of not being able to Show the Dogs or Register them. Sorry if I seemed unclear in what I said. I understand not everyone breeds dogs to be shown. If you aren't looking for a show dog, go snatch up a shelter dog that could use a good home.

I can agree that pure breed dogs run bigger risks of medical issues. What I can't agree with is the thought of breeding just to breed. There are plenty enough dogs being put down every day at shelters. Hence back to what I said first. If he was breeding pure show quality APBT's, I have 0 issue with that. Mixing a breed, and breeding to just breed is not what I would like to see. There are plenty of dogs who are needlessly put down every day because of this exact practice.

I have no doubt he CAN breed dogs.. There is enough on the internet to be able to let anyone do it. My issue comes with the mixing of breeds. You are basically breeding for what reason at that point? Breeding, just to breed is what we need less of.

FWIW, not that I am close to enough to breed with, but I have 2 males. I have a Razors Edge Tri-Registered APBT, and a Registered Fila Brasileiro. Both are fixed on top of that though.

Yes it is. I have had 3 litters of puppies in my life. It is a MASSIVE undertaking. Building a suitable welping box for the bitch. Helping her deliver the pups. Sometimes cutting the sack open if she can't do it. Cleaning up all the nastiness of birthing. Then you have a minimum of 8 weeks of having to take care of 8-13 puppies. It is a nightmare.

Every breeder has to start somewhere. My issue would be breeding the dog outside of it's breed to begin with. That means the pups won't be registered or be able to be shown. Essentially a "back yard" breeding, which is honestly what we need less of in this world. If you were breeding it with other Registered APBT's for the purpose of producing show quality APBT's, I would have no problem with it.
