  1. You don't even want to get me started on ticketmaster.
  2. Yeah too much camaro in there. But lets see how it looks in person I Lol'd I also lol'd that it has VTEC now.
  3. I realize there maybe a very small niche for this level of service and the investment just may not be worth it.
  4. Honestly the Advance Auto on Bethel is the reason I personally am an Advance Auto fan. I lived around the corner and parts are almost always in stock, at a good price, and the staff was awesome. I doubt you know anyone that was there since I left Cbus almost 7 yrs ago (wow) but Jono, member on here was part of the staff and he always went above and beyond. Even though the price and availability is relatively the same in most stores (for what I needed) I have been to other Advance Autos where the staff did not have an idea of what they were talking about, and the Autozone across the street was better. Just the nature of it. To place some contrast on Cordell's rant, its no secret when I started on this forum I didn't even know how to do my own brakes. Did I learn the ropes of automotive? Yes. But it was with help from forum members, manuals, interwebs, etc. I value the opinion and guidance of my autoparts guy if I need it. Kind of like the guy at lowe's when i'm tackling a home project. I understand that yo have to protect your industry but you also have to have a business vision that there are several business opportunities to be had. Of course you want to get paid to do the work and that is understandable. There will always be people that will pay technicians to do their car work, they don't have or want the knowledge, they aren't passionate about it, they are rich, whatever. But there is also a market (obviously) for the do it yourselfers. I will admit I consider myself smart with money, some say frugal or cheap, but I disagree as I will spend money where quality is necessary. But most importantly I have had and heard of bad experiences with 'professionals'/'technicians'. I won't take my car to a shop unless I absolutely have to because since I'm not paid hourly I make sure I do a quality job and don't cut corners. I know i'm not getting stuck with crappy oil. I know that I'm replacing the crush washer on the drain plug. I know I am putting anti-seize on my spark plugs. I'm going to be careful and not scratch my car, or damage the interior. I know I am using my torque wrench. Maybe I expect something that is unreasonable? But that is why I do my own repairs. Getting back on topic. Staff is very important I remember the NAPA warehouse on 161 was pretty awesome. They had stuff advance auto didn't and I remember their staff was usually very knowledgeable (old timers), but then again sometimes they only knew about old vehicles and technology so you have to have a good mix. What I like about NAPA that most other chain stores don't have is that they can look parts up by PARTS rather than by car. That might be tricky to understand, but imagine you lose a hub bearing cap/dust cap. Can't find the application for your vehicle in the computer but you can run out there with the sales guy, a digital caliper and measure the bore. In turn flip through some manuals and find a part that fits by the size/application rather than by vehicle. This kind of service would have been really nice when doing my LSX conversion since there is fab work involved and stuff is not off-the-shelf. Also, don't know how feasible this is, but NAPA also has hardware in bins, sold separately. For example NPT fittings. You can bring your part in, make sure its going to work for what you need. I absolutely love a local hardware shop (15 miles away) that has a hardware row. When I am putting something together you can go to the hardware store and run through the bins assembling what you need. Its great, has metric and standard stuff and then stuff i consider out of the norm. Helicoils, roll pins, square keys, wierd caps and just good stuff you seem to always need. I do not like having to run from the auto parts store and then to the hardware store. But not sure how viable this really is for a store. Since most auto stores just don't have the real estate to provide this level of detail.
  5. Was backing up some files onto an old hard drive and found this. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Miscelaneous/_ERTO5_zps3ef17ce0.gif
  6. Yeah they do something like this on the FM forums (monthly and weekly assignments) and its a lot of fun. Just don't know if we have enough participants on this forum to have it work. But its worth a shot.
  7. Man on top of already being told that is really cool. I applaud you have the sense of humor and just general sense 'YOLO' to do something like this. Congrats on the purchase. Did you have it shipped back or driving it?
  8. Don't waste your money in exchange houses. Just get money from the ATM and take the transaction fee. It will always be less than an exchange house.
  9. I'm just south of Indy, I bet we get at least 10" here. Wonder how much snow we'll get?
  10. Whomever buys this be careful with Carbon Monoxide poisoning. I remember seeing like 2 stories of people dying because they were hauled in the bed of a truck with a cap. Get an exhaust leak or something, doesn't take much. Sorry to crap in your thread.
  11. Very nice kit for a great price. http://www.adorama.com/INKD600K1KE.html?utm_term=Other&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=Other&utm_source=rflaid67918 Its cold out and I'm not riding my RZR, wishing I would have just gone full frame at this point. Spring time i'll forget all about it and jump in the RZR though.
  12. Amazing stuff well worth the watch. Cliffnotes, camera records fast enough that it can trace the motion of light.
  13. Didn't you recently make a post about what USA is going to do for jobs? Lol
  14. What is Autozone's policy? I know at our work we can't even leave them in our cars. For a while you had to kept i locked in a box in the truck with the ammo in the glovebox blah blah
  15. Its just one of those choices you make in life. You knowingly carry a weapon knowing it voilates policy. There is a reason why its a policy. There is probably a really good chance that robber won't shoot anyone, if he gets what he wants. Meanwhile if an Empolyee shoots a robber, they would be loosing way more than $2000 in legal fees. Its just not worth it for autozone. I bet this guy gets hired by a pro gun place anyway making more than he did at his autozone job. Everyone wins

    2000 ls1

yeah 1900-2000 is good. Wouldn't be surprise if it went for a bit lower.
  17. Man some of the ones I saw were 1300's. Some were completely erroded, smooth. So its hard to say. York Minster started around 600 or 900 AD. OK any tips? Here is an attempt at it. I'm leaning towards the IR conversion over the color. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111112_6499BW.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111112_6499.jpg

  20. 16 This one was pretty cool it was an eagle as a podium the meaning of it being that the bible resting on its back...the eagle carries the word of god to the 'masses'. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6150_edited-1.jpg 17 Picture this room is a 'round' room. It really gives a better idea for the next picture. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6163_edited-1.jpg 18 This picture might be one of my favs. Its the same room as above just looking straight up with a super wide angle. Almost looks like a flower or a star. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6169_edited-1.jpg 19 Random castle http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6246_edited-1.jpg 20 Scarborough Castle http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111112_6347_edited-1.jpg 21 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111112_6395_edited-1.jpg 22 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111112_6455_edited-1.jpg 23 Scarborough Harbor - Panorama http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/Scarbrough_Panorama1-1.jpg 24 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/110912_5954_edited-1.jpg 25 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111112_6369_edited-2BW.jpg 26 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6086_edited-1.jpg 27 Whitby Abby http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111112_6494_edited-1.jpg 28 Infrared conversion http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111112_6445_edited-1BW.jpg 29 More HDR http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/Untitled-1.jpg 30 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111112_6389_edited-1.jpg
  21. Had a weekend to run around and got some great shots. Ran down to York and checked out the York Minster (which you'll see in a lot of the images). Then the next day checked out some coastal towns (Scarborough and Whitby). I guess Whitby is where one of the original Draculas was filmed and there was a super creepy/old graveyard. C&C welcome. 1 York Minster with hot air balloon in the background...good timing. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_5991_edited-1.jpg 2 York Minster http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6009_edited-1.jpg 3 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6013_edited-1.jpg 4 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6015_edited-1.jpg 5 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6033_edited-1.jpg 6 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6036_edited-1.jpg 7 This one was an HDR http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/YorkStainGlassHDR.jpg 8 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6029_edited-1.jpg 9 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6061_edited-1.jpg 10 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6072_edited-1.jpg 11 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6079_edited-1.jpg 12 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6172_edited-1.jpg 13 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6094_edited-1.jpg 14 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6097_edited-1.jpg 15 http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/111012_6112_edited-1.jpg
  22. And if you get in an accident you risk royally screwing your family on their insurance rates too.
