Getting a bit worried about Miller, wondering if they are minimizing how bad the injury is. Hope he is ok by wisconsin.

Mine is 2wd manual. If I stay 65mph and its nice and hot out. I'll get 21-22mpg. Pulling the RX-7 to tail of the dragon I AVERAGED 17mpg. Love the truck. all hand calculated.

If anyone wants details on my experience I can give some advice. I was nervous as this was the first time buying a truck 'sigh unseen'. They deal a lot with online business, they had someone come pick me up from the airport. Couldn't have been any easier. If I hated the truck would have been a long pissed off return drive in a crappy rental car though. 15hrs to think about it! lol

I got mine 3 yrs ago ('04 model) for $15.5 in Texas...

Thanks, that picture made the 1/4 mile sprint worth it! Thanks Clay, Sometimes I tell you its a hassle to travel with all my gear. Sometimes I even consider just hanging out at the hotel and catching up on rest. But the reality is, is that life is too short to just sit there specially when given the opportunity to see things you may not get to see again. Edit: Fixed the link for the pic from the Caterham 7.

If you're willing to drive/fly. I got my truck at the 'North Texas Truck Stop'. They had a massive selection of trucks, near Dallas TX. Flew down there, picked mine up for a good price and drove home. surprisingly easy. There are a ton of other dealers like that in the area. Got a good price on a rust free truck. Can't beat it.

Hey Guys! Just got back from a UK trip. Not as exciting as the last trips, poor planning on my end. By the time I tried to get to travel everything was so expensive de to booking last minute. Just wasn't worth it. Raby Castle http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/DSC_3290.jpg The rental car in front of Raby Loved this thing. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/DSC_3302.jpg High Force Waterfall. About 60 ft tall, was a real nice hike up to the top of it. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/DSC_3324.jpg Cool random lighthouse. Was heading back to the hotel early so took the coastal route home. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/DSC_3047.jpg While on the coastal route, spotted a crazy rainbow. I parked to try and get a good shot of it an happend to be a light house in site. With the sun setting I took off sprinting down the beach with my camera to try and get it lined up with the ligthouse. God there just in time! http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/DSC_3020.jpg Alnwick Castle http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/DSC_2876.jpg Got a great opportunity to check out a British car show going on at Raby Castle. One car club were taking folks out for rides onback roads for 30 mins to raise money for a Children's museum. I ended up picking the Caterham 7. Was a good time! http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/DSC_3243.jpg I thought it was clever to a call it Cars and Castles. Was a really great opportunity to see cars we don't see here. Some really obscure stuff, even had a few steam vehicles. I'll post some highlights for me but encourage you to take a look through. See if anything interests you! Here are some highlights. XBL expired, don't play in the summer. Probably see me on the next COD release, getting ready to pre-order. You going to the next gen xbox this winter or hanging out for a while with the 360?

Lettuce Discuss http://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/usa/releases/nissan-to-equip-next-generation-titan-pickup-with-new-cummins-turbo-diesel-engine I am very anxious how this does in production. Market wise, performance wise, etc.

I'm not trying to be mean, I don't really know you.... but weren't you fairly recently into financial situations that had potential implications on your future and your ability to support your family and/or dissolving you're wife's cake business? Not trying to stir the pot hopefully just a friendly reality check if that is the case. I know you've been faced with very bad long term injuries and an unfortunate situation I hope not to be in ever. If everything is going well for you then I'm GLAD to hear and in that case you very well may have earned the right to splurge a bit! But....everyone has a Camaro....

Tim sorry to troll your thread but I recently got back from DC and have some pics to share....why start another thread!? BTW I was so pissed to hear about the Abe Lincoln memorial. Not only what it stands for but for another reason.... My fiancee and I were there ~10pm at night. We were going to come back the next day and look around inside, but wanted to see it at night. To our surprise it was open, tons of people there. Meant we could do more with our time but it was way cool that it was 'always open'. Its too bad that punks like this will potentially lead to the infringement of everyone else's liberty, but thats always been the case. The capitol is a sweet building. What was totally boss was that we got lucky and somehow found an open time slot for a tour of the inside. Picture of the dome below. Also having gone to London in February and having been in St. Paul's cathedral (same architect/idea?), the similarities were very cool to observe. Also we went on 4th of July. Something special about watching fireworks there. I will say I was all set up to get the Washington monument in the foreground with the fireworks, but the ranger that told me where they were launching from was an idiot http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Washington%20DC/JeffersonMemorialHDR1.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Washington%20DC/070613_8437_edited-1.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Washington%20DC/070613_8410_edited-1.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Washington%20DC/070513_8547.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Washington%20DC/070513_8534_edited-1.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Washington%20DC/070513_8530.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Washington%20DC/070413_8363.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Washington%20DC/070413_8304.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/Washington%20DC/070413_8264copy.jpg

great coupons. I walk in get Part numbers, go home order and come back. $40 is no joke.
-
Without getting too far from the topic at hand, since the warranty linked is from a specific dealer and is not from the manufacturer. Sorry I personally don't believe in 3rd Party warranties. In general, they are a joke. Good luck getting any worked approved without a crap ton of hassle. Specially on a drive train, they will weasel their way out of paying. Oh and I haven't seen an 3/4 ton ecoboost. Has little validity in this thread.
-
Is this a truck you are going to keep for a looooong time (outside of warranty)? Do you turn your own wrenches? If so the Ford and Chevy diesels are nightmares.

Been playing with my camera more and more

I see what you're doing there.... http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/RX-7/032112_2068.jpg Like the shot with the phone. -
I was cruising 80mph from DC the whole way with the A/C on and got 37mpg. I was pleasantly surprised. (06 civic, manual trans). My only complaint with the civic is that the rear springs aren't strong enough. if I put 4 normal sized people in the car, its bottoming out on the bump stops all the time. but I rarely have to do that, or I take the truck in ghat case.
-
Then you missed most of it. I was pretty impressed when he got out of the truck while it was still doing donuts.
-
Nice, I use the photomerge in photoshop but it doesn't really give an HDR effect. I could look this up myself, but how much was the software? Any good deals?
-
Not all tripods are created equal. I love my 2lbs fullsize benro, but it won't replace my 5lb manfrotto. I notice in semi strong wind that the benro still shakes. If I know i'm going out for super long exposures I bring out the big boy.

Doh I realized I had my browser re-installed and didn't put in the exif plug-in. Spare batteries are a must specially in night shots with long shutter times, eats it up (processing). I was going to make the same comment as Tim, that big of an aperture on the big end of the lens and it probably didn't help. Don't go too high up, i learned sometimes going into the F22 range you also have adverse effects. Some of it just has to do with the lens quality and maybe even that its a cropbody sensor here is a sample (similar shot) in London. I had the blow outs, i was on a pedestrian bridge with folks walking on it so it moved a bit. I know what you mean when you say its not as crisp as you want. You see some of these pro-photos and are like WTF I used a tri-pod, low iso, etc. But I think sometimes it just comes down to equipment. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/DSC_0947_edited-1.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/BertoBizkit/Fred%20Miranda%20Forum%20Entries/Berto%20Photography/UK%20Goodness/DSC_0697_edited-1.jpg

Matt, great work on that car (and all the other ones). Much deserved recognition. First swapped car I ever really had any time to see and discuss about (the grey car). Probably a pre-cursor to my swap (not nearly as clean or cool!). When you coming back out to Putnam?!?! Posted the link on norotors, fyi.

There is no EXIF data on that pic, can you share that with us? I know my kit lenses don't have a window to show your focal range/distance but the 'infinity' setting will be there on any lens. I really struggle with this specially if I want to do a really late night shot with no light (can't focus on anything!). Really if you are focusing on any of those buildings you will effectively be at the 'infinity' setting of your lens.

When I interned at Honda I worked with brake test engineers. Material deposits as mentioned were one of the culprits but I remember the major culprit they discussed was Weathering/rust. You notice when you go outside after rain and your car has been sitting (even just a few hours), depending on the rain there is already rust on your rotors, but if you were to take your caliper off there would be no rust under it because it was not exposed to water under the pad. When you drive off you obviously burn off the rust but where the caliper/pad was there is a minimal high spot. After hundreds of this cycle depending on the random nature of where your rotor/caliper line up when you stop you will develop one (or many) high spots which result in the shaking feeling everyone calls 'warped rotor'. I tend to believe this. I like one of the other posters knew for a fact, on my daily driver I had not done any panic stops yet my rotors were warped as crap. The car sat outisde all the time. I purchased my civic new, and it has always been garage kept. I have 125k on it with never a hint of brake shake. I really do believe that for most folks this rust build up/removal is the biggest culprit of brake shake. Additionally, I don't know if the metal composition between cheap rotors, OEM, and racing have any property to reduce likeliness to rust, but that might explain why the cheapo advance auto ones 'warp' faster. good topic.
