  1. Great job Mark getting it into the 7's! Looking forward to seeing it run sometime this year.
  2. Yea...if I leave my DR's on. I run a set of 18" Mich X-Ice in the winter and it constantly drove through 8-10 inches of snow/ice up here in Clev without any issues. It's obviously not as strong as a 4WD SUV on snow tires, but much better an any AWD/FWD sedan on All Seasons....
  3. But all that being said....my modded auto CTSV will walk both stock cars from a roll and dig (with my drag radials) for the price of a stock GTR. And you can not tell its modded! Best daily driver I've owned hands down.
  4. Having owned both cars, they are very different. I felt the GTR was much more 'comfortable' as a daily driver. It has a great bluetooth interface, the backseats were a nice plus at times, my wife could drive it, and it was flat out so easy to drive at either 90% or 10%. The GTR is obviously light years ahead in terms of technology and quality/fitment, but will be more expensive to maintain over the long haul. Don't believe the internet on prices, they are way overblown. I felt the Z06 was 'exhausting' at times. Yea, I'm sure it had to do with my cam, headers, no cats, etc. But I always felt I was driving a modern muscle car. As a 'do everything well' car, GTR is a much better car. I probably enjoyed the Z06 at times more on the weekends (when I was in the mood to drive it), and the GTR on the weekdays/street racing. The attention though that the GTR creates was annoying. The Z06 never got a second look. $70k for a 24k mile GTR is crazy. An 09 is $60k all day long with under 10k miles. A ZO6 is obviously cheaper. But resale will take a bit hit when the new platform comes out. I also don't think an 06 Z will hold up over time as well as a GTR (ie annoying rattles, wear on interior/exterior, etc.) Your comment about size is a common one - but when you drive them, you'll actually feel the exact opposite. The GTR feels much smaller and tighter. The ZO6 feels heavier, slower to respond, and much bigger. You really have to drive them for at least 30 min around town and on the highway. You can't go wrong with either. Personally, if I were in your shoes, if you were absolutely 100% not going to mod either, I'd probably get the Z06 mostly for the reason that's it's a bit faster from a roll, will do burn-outs all day long, and can be a fun weekend car. If you were open to a stage 2 Switzer (about 5k) it will runs circles around a stock ZO6 (mid/high 10's at 132ish) and you'll never know it modded (unlike a Z06 which starts to create compromises when modded). You could drive a lightly modded GTR for a long time and it will never hiccup. And if you change your mind and want to start modding it down the road, you have the platform to build the fastest street car in Cbus. But it really comes down to personal opinion and taste. Good luck!
  5. Sorry. I'll have to check when I get home but they are the standard 19" iforged for the B5.
  6. They're not stock size....but I've got a set of 19" iforged aeros (black centers and aftermarket chrome lips) with near new 235/30 nittos sitting in my garage. I'd let them go for real cheap - $1000.
  7. It's still on a stock motor. Titan is charging Heffner prices...and is a bit cheaper than UGR, but not by much. Nero is trying to compete, but like anyone coming into the market this late...has a steep learning curve ahead. I've told Nero a 100 times he's making a mistake....but he loves Lambos....so is going to give it a shot.
  8. Good videos Linn! You like that shot of me power sliding that Panamera Turbo? I rented it for the event and we beat the shit out of it....it puked out all the coolant after the third track session. The guy trying to be helpful to Nero during the 'parking lot fight' was my good friend Clyde who drove my trailer down from Toledo since Don was too tired to drive straight through after working on the Supra non stop for two weeks to get it finished in time. He is a great guy....but spent a lot of time behind bars and as a result can get pretty intense if he feels threatened. The funny thing is he is probably one of the nicest guys I know and will do anything for a friend. The street racing this year was completely nuts. SW and I must have raced 30 times in his TTG. The only dissapointment was we couldn't race our Supra....but will hopefully get it sorted out soon.
  9. Linn, I was messing around with Peter. I'd have to sell just about everything to afford something like that! If I were single I probably would!!!
  10. Yes, yes, yes, no, yes, and yes
  11. It's actually the same guy from Atlanta who's been all over it for like 3 months. He gave me yet another deposit last week. Apparently he finally got someone to finance him and the wire hits tomorrow afternoon. I didn't ask any questions. I'll be sad to see that car go. I've rarely kept a street car for more than a year, but I've had that S4 since new in 2002. I just never drive it anymore and keeping it 45 minutes away doesn't help....
  12. Sort of like your beginner snowboard? I've done enough 'first' builds and don't care if a few other people have the same build as I do. Frankly I prefer it as it helps speed up the R&D. I guess we can't all be as cool as you.
  13. Let me know when you see another 1700hp Lambo. There are 3 in existence and just another 32 UGR Lambos in the world. The problem is each one gets more press in a week than other builds do in their lifetime.
  14. Kevin and I are doing a few different things....but its basically a modified R package with billet gears and bigger turbos. Yes, it should be considerably faster than my old Supra. Kevin thinks it'll trap a 180 with 1700hp. We'll see. I'm sure a faster car could be built for less money, but keeping a 'stock-like' driving feel, good reliability, and all the typical creature comforts, it's tough to beat a Gallardo. I don't care for the 'flashy' side, but once I started to really drive them, you sort-of forget about what they look like. I obviously love Supras, but they aren't as practical to drive around town at these hp levels. I don't think you'll see a 1800hp GTR anytime in the near future. 1400hp maybe by late this year/next year. Tym and I built a longblock that should have made an easy 1200/1250, but too many variables yet to work through and since I'm not getting any younger, we decided to hold off and let him R&D the platform for another year until it becomes more reliable. There is no question that GTR's can and will be the fastest true streetable 1/4 mile car money can buy. We ran a 9.6 first time out with just a bolt-on kit and zero track adjustments. There should be multiple 8 second GTR's out this year trapping at or near 170....which is amazing for the creature comforts and drivability they will retain. Mod cost will be in the 90k range...so it won't be cheap to play at that level. A supra can easily match it at the track for less money....but not on the street. I would have loved to buy Verde Ithaca, but they didn't offer it on the 08 Superleggera. They only made 120 and one owner, low mileage examples are very hard to find - so you sort of take what you can find while you're in the market. The SL's are significantly better cars than the base Gallardos in many ways, especially when modding. I agree, though, white looks really good....but its also becoming really played out everywhere.
  15. Thanks everyone. As for being a 'street hustler'....doubt it as you really can't launch these things without breaking stuff....and that includes the billet gears and final drive being installed as I type. From a 60 roll....it will be a tough car to beat. But there's always something faster....
  16. I wasn't either until I actually saw the color in person. I initially wanted orange....but it looks muted in the sunlight. Not the actual car I bought - pics don't do it justice: http://www.lamborghinihouston.com/images/Lamborghini/Gallardo_Superleggera/1157_H900/full/Lamborghini_Gallardo_Superleggera_1.jpg
  17. Kevin loves to give me a hard time.... I bought an 08 Superleggara - yellow, egear, 2700 miles. Couldn't find one of the 9 whites here in the US. Motor is already out and should be done in May. I can't wait!
  18. Hey guys, sorry for the delay....it's "sold" but if any issue comes up, BDHG940....I'll PM you. Thanks everyone.
  19. Thanks for the interest guys....I'll answer PM's in order they were sent this weekend if it doesn't sell.
  20. No, the wheel wells are in the way to open any more than about 6-8 inches - most if not all 8.5 ft trailers are like that. That's why I have the winch....no need to be in the car.
  21. It's grey exterior, finished white walls inside. Side door. Lights inside. 4 ding rings. Double axle with brakes. A number of people on this forum have seen it. I'll take pics and post if it doesn't sell by this weekend.
  22. I bought a new trailer, and won't have much use for this one anymore. I bought it new in 2006 (maybe 2007, can't remember) in Columbus for $8k. Custom lowered floor. We also installed a 5k lb superwinch and new tires and wheel bearings last summer. Has a total of about 8k miles. It's in very good shape. I think it's a great deal for someone for just $3k. It also only weighs about 3k lbs so it's perfect to use behind a SUV, etc.
  23. Yep, may have found the SL we want to buy this weekend. Shooting for June completion.
  24. Yea....Kevin and I are like BFF's now! I admit my take on UGR at The Mile was 'a bit colored' by a number of people I was with and Kevin refusing to talk to us....for reasons I now understand.
