  1. Maid of the Mist is an absolute must. It is AWESOME.....just no other word for it. But be aware that you WILL be getting wet. Journey Behind the Falls is neat as well. The tram ride over the Whirlpool is another must. Goat Island is worth an afternoon. Most of the good stuff, casinos and bars, is on the Canadian side. Once you get more than a few blocks from the falls and bridge on the US side, it gets pretty seedy. And north of the falls on the US side along the gorge is pretty much a ghetto.
  2. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8c/Lamborghini_Espada_S3.jpg Lamborghini Espada S-3. I was 6 years old, sitting in the rear seat of my Mom's Audi Fox wagon. We were on I-270 southbound, just about to go over the bridge over Big Walnut Creek (on the East side, just south of the 70-270 interchange) when one of these, could even be THIS car, passed us at about 75mph (this is back in the bad old 55-mph days), then dropped it into 3rd and stood on it. I'll never forget the sound of that V-12.......shivers down the spine.
  3. http://www.thefiringline.com , scroll down to find the Harley Norden's firearms research forum. Looks like the site is down right now though. You can also try http://www.thehighroad.com, again scroll down to the firearms research forum. BTW the library has several gun value guides available. Um, I just took the 2007 one back today. Hit the one on Brice Road, they MIGHT have it on the shelves, or can reserve it for you.
  4. http://www.fcmcclerk.com or .org? Can't recall which.
  5. We've got one of those huge blowers at work! It was part of a compressor set-up to quench tempered glass, but they changed to multiple squirrel-cage blowers a few years back, and it's just been sitting on a pallet ever since, along with a pressure tank and the controls. It would have to move a MASSIVE amount of air, the output tubing is something like 9in in diameter, and the gauges go to 600psi.
  6. #70 on the regular channels, but I think it's part of the digital package, not basic. It's pretty much just highlights on the first three finishers of that days stage, and some footage of whoever has the most spectacular "off", with some nice landscape shots. When Robby Gordon rolled it in stage 3, did anyone else think it was part of a highlight reel of his NASCAR career?
  7. Leopard print bra and pink panties. Yeah, coulda told you she'd be a skank, can't even coordinate her undies.
  8. Maybe they think she'll lead them to whoever actually stole the laptop?
  9. Oh, and good riddance Circuit City. They did an alarm install on my parents (now mine) 98 Voyager back when they first got it. The Autostart stopped working last year, so I had to go in to try to fix it. They had hacked the underdash wiring so badly I was genuinely surprised that the car hadn't caught on fire, there were literally bare connections all over the wiring, no heat-shrink tubing or butt connectors or even some damn black tape, just bare wires.
  10. It's a Garden Ridge now. I used to spend a lot of time there, mostly in the Car Audio section. They used to get some SWEET demo vehicles from Pioneer and Alpine in there. Plus they had that McDonald's right in the store....
  11. http://dotsub.com/view/80f72f12-a701-4520-9925-d96e2d9d4808 It's not the best quality FLIR in the world.
  12. Just walk outside, and take a DEEP long inhale through your nostrils......and enjoy the sensation of all your boogers freezing. Whee!
  13. Well, Jodi Scheckter started from the pole, so skill was certainly a factor. And the layout of Scandinavian Raceway played to the Tyrell's advantage in the corners. But quite a few of the front-runners crashed out or broke, so it was mainly the P34s being the best cars still running.
  14. U.S.S. Texas? New York class for sure, can't see her bow number though.
  15. Too bad they don't have anything better than Winchester white box. I prefer to pay more to get better quality. The only reason I go to Walmart is that they are the only grocery store that has corn-dogs anymore. I loves me some corn-dogs......
  16. Shoulda stayed in a Holiday Inn EXPRESS. I dropped mine once when I came home from work with the flu, it sat in front of my front door for THREE DAYS. Just sitting there, in plain view of everyone walking by, and nobody even touched it. I didn't even notice it was missing until I stopped the "puke/sleep/shower/eat enough Ritz crackers to have something to puke up" cycle long enough to actually leave the house, and found it on the doorstep.
  17. Good video, meh music. Was that vid done by the guy who used to do Tool's videos?
  18. Didn't somebody do that with a monster truck last year? I don't think they were trying to, it just happened when they hit a jump right. Can't find anything on Youtube, but I could swear I saw it on CNN.
  19. A .17 HMR isn't going to "decimate the whole animal" with a headshot from 2 feet, sheesh. Why isn't he carrying a knife or hatchet? THAT is how you make a final kill when you have a wounded animal, that "snapping its neck" is just showing off for the camera.
  20. Beer: Guinness. Shot (not that I would EVER abuse a fine liquor by drinking it like a shot): Bushmills, the 1608.
  21. Doubt it's gonna happen, Dubai is getting eviscerated by the recession. They have a HUGE surplus of office and living space right now, most projects will be ecstatic with a 33% occupancy rate right now.
  22. Oddly enough, it wasn't the owners of the cemetery that asked for the noise study. They realize that a dragstrip would NOT be an all day, every day activity, and that those two cemeteries aren't actually burying that many people anymore, being pretty well sold out. It's the BIRD WATCHERS who flock around Greenlawn (sorry, just no other way to say that) that object to the noise. My mom is a birder, and she thinks the noise wouldn't be a problem for the birds at all. I-70 makes a ton of noise as it is, and the birds are used to that. Realistically, simply making mufflers mandatory is more than enough.
  23. All that time and effort, and he feeds some of them with UMC ammo? Tsk tsk.
  24. Depends on what they decide what "barrel shroud" means. I would not be at all surprised to find out that Pelosi and Feinstein and their ilk want that term to mean ANYTHING that wraps around the barrel, such as handguards..... BTW, what makes you think they won't do anything more than cut & paste that whole list onto their next attempt?
  25. The Cooper dragstrip probably won't happen. Greenlawn and Mt. Calvary Cemeteries have asked for noise studies to be done in the area. Plus, Franklin County (which still owns the land, I think) has concerns about liability issues. Yes, it's stupid. There's a rumor floating that the Mopar Nats may go to Norwalk in 2010 or 2011. I think that is more reaction to the problems with the last few Nats than actual fact at this point.
