  1. Did I race against your SE-R last Saturday up on Cleveland just north of 270? It was a red car, chrome pipe, but your rims look different from what I remember, so I dunno...I was in a black 93 Duster with some uh....traction issues. Nice SE-R anyway, always did like the 1st generation ones.
  2. There's an old Dodge truck running around the east side that looks like it caught most of the shrapnel from a JCWhitney "chromed stuff" explosion. On sunny days, its actually painful to look at.
  3. There's a Mustang running around my apartment complex with Shelby decals on it. It's an 85. It's a 4-banger. The decals are from a Dodge Shelby Daytona. They aren't stuck on straight.
  4. Looks like my old apartment in Maple Glen....

  6. It broke right where it goes into the black stuff that covers it on the spider. I doubt it could be soldered, I think it would have to replaced. I did find a place that may be able to do it, just gotta give them a call tomorrow!
  7. I guess this is the right place for this, they are car subs after all. I've got a sub where the tinsel wire that goes from the connectors to the voice coil has broken at the edge of the spider. Is there a place in town that can fix this?
  8. I got all winter for this thing, already got the flatter areas smooth, just trying to get the nooks.
  9. Whoops, seems I created a bit of confusion there: I'm trying to polish the OUTSIDE of the plenum, not inside the runners.
  10. Per my 93 FSM: Code 63 PCM failure, EEPROM write denied: Check SMEC or SBEC. Computer failure. Dunno if this is the correct diagnosis, that's a general code and the FSM notes that Flex Fuel diagnosis codes *MAY* be different.
  11. Updated at the bottom of the thread! Okay, here's what I'm trying to do: my intake plenum came with the usual sand-cast texture. I'm trying to sand that off and get a shiny smooth surface. The problem is that my plenum consists of 6 tubes that are cast together, making it really tough to get a sanding wheel or disc down in the grooves. Does anyone know of a way to do this, I've seen it on other cars, so I know it can be done. [ 28. October 2003, 10:05 PM: Message edited by: Avenger ]
  12. The plate things are junk, all the cop has to do is POINT THE LASER AT A DIFFERENT PART OF YOUR CAR! Also, thanks to the fact that the laser beam spreads, at 700 feet (the range that most cops train to use the gun at), the laser is wider than a license plate. Active jammers are not just illegal in Ohio, they fall under FCC regulations concerning licensing of RF and microwave transmitters. You get caught with one, you could get a $10,000 fine and do time in the federal pen.
  13. Try hitting the edge of the rotor so that the force goes across the disc instead straight back. Also turn the steering as far as you can so that you can hit it from BEHIND, that should do it.
  14. Falken Azenis are a good choice for a mostly dry tire. Just as good on track as the Yokos, better in the wet, and cheaper to boot.
  15. I took a drive to visit some friends in Circleville yesterday, went down 23 and got the shock of my life. There were NO cops in the speed trap area north of South Bloomfield! I've never been through there without seeing at least 3 cars before. Is there a new donut shop around there or something?
  16. Cops have been all over the road lately, from Rickenbacker all the way up to Frebis or so. Groveport parks a guy right across from DFS almost every night. There's also cops parked across the street from that apartment complex just north of 104, catching people racing at that light before the tracks where the road narrows. And Obetz cops are patrolling between Williams and I270 alot as well.
  17. The rotary motors used in old airplanes are not at all similar to the Wankel motors. The old rotaties had a fixed crankshaft, and the ENTIRE CRANKCASE AND CYLINDERS rotated around it. Somewhat like a radial motor, but the moving parts are reversed.
  18. How big a bolt is it? If it's above the surface, and wide enough, you can cut a groove in it for a screwdriver and take it out that way. Drilling bolts is no fun whatsoever.
  19. That's what the OHP calls a "targeted enforcement zone". Long story short, the reason they are hitting that area so hard is that there actually are a lot of people driving too fast through there. Plus there are lots of rich little kids going to Easton, cops must hassle teenagers y'know!
  20. I can testify that the Reynoldsburg police have at least one older F-body they use as an unmarked car. I watched the driver talking into a shoulder radio during the Mopar Nats cruise, every time somebody did a burnout near him, he'd say something into his radio and the cops would fall out of the sky on them. It's an 87 or 88 Camaro, yellow with those multi-color stripes along the bottom.
