  2. Make the dealer pay the ticket and remove the tint. He sold you a car that was not legal for use on public streets but never indicated that to you. And if he issued a 30 day tag on it, he indicated that the car was legal for street use, which of course it was not. (He probably didn't know or didn't care) but you can come back on the dealer if it was like that when you bought the car.
  3. The motor is aluminum and the heat with a total burn down like that would really screw it up. If it was a cast iron block, I would say it was well seasoned, but not this pile of trash.

  5. I would to. I have no doubt that the insurance company will total it. And I also agree 100% with Nitrousbird, getting everything perfect would be very hard indeed, unless you cut the top off the car and put a different one on it. But this screams drag car. Strip it of everything that it doesn't need to run, hop up the motor some and cage it. In fact if you caged it on a frame rack, you could pull it into square and then cage it and it would be better than new, becasue it would be alot stiffer. But I would agree that this will never again be a daily driver.

  9. I am selling the TA. Selling as a roller with a tranny. for $500. I will include the fresh 355 for $200 more. The car is complete minus the top for the center console. The guy I got it from was going to convert it from an EFI motor the a carb, so the pump will need removed from the tank to run a carb with it.   12. See what they want to do a buy back on the car. If the motor was not run long while it was upside down then it would not be a big deal to put that car back together again. Just have to break out the Porta Power and push shit back into it's proper places. Yes I have put back several rollovers, and although I would need to see the car in person, from the pics, there is not a ton of damage done to the car. Please e-mail me the original pics if you are interested in getting it back together. kfoor@foornet.net Glad you are ok man, rolling a T-Top car is never fun, the tops tend to break and people tend to fly out.
  13. Either that or it needs valve seals or rings because it's burning oil. It's the 86 C10 I assume. So it's got a Quadrajet on it. And the factory HEI ignition. Yes, if the carb needs rebuilt, it would foul plugs, but they would be dry with black soot, and to soot up the plugs, you would see black smoke if the cat con is not in place, and you would see it before it warmed up either way. As far as the HEI. There is little to fail with one of those, and the normal culprit is the module. If you are not getting any spark , and had the dist out, make sure that you have 12 volt at the red wire going into the B+ terminal on the cap when the key is on. Other than that the thing is self contained, so if you are feeding it power, and you have no fire, the problem is under the dist cap. I would test the pickup, should measure about 5K to 10 K ohms. If it shows open then it's probably bad. There is really not alot to these things. Hell if nothing else call me and I will swing by. It's probably something that just got overlooked.

  15. burnt valve, or wiped lob on the cam get a vacuum gauge, and connect it to the mainfold vacuum. the needle should be around 18 to 20 for a stock cam, and not flutter around. If it;s fluttering around, look and cam/burnt valve. If the vacuum is right then goes down slowly with no change in the motor RPM then the cat is plugged.
  16. Started sanding tonight on the Camaro to get rid of the orange paint once and for all. Entire car will be put into primer black, then most likely clear coated. While I do realize that this is a bit odd, I have no paint and don't want to put more money in this right now. On a similar note, I have been doing some motor work, put the gear drive and the roller rockers that I had in the motor. I am planning the change out of the intake to a single plane Torquer and installing the 50/100 shot dual stage nitrous on it. I also have a 4.56 gear and a 3500 stall converter to put into it. Making it very marginally streetable but still drivable to some point.

  18. Yep, I posted something similar to this when the cut the head off the last guy. And this IS one way to deal with this shit. It's time for a can of ol fashion whoop ass to be oepned up on these fuckers. Not a small can but the large Sams Club bulk family size can. The 55 gallon drum of whoop ass. Killing them is not good enough, these fucks need to do some serious suffering before they go.
  19. Please explain to these non believers the RPM's those motors are capible of. I have seen several of these boats, running modded bike tadhs that go to 14K due to the fact that the standard 11K autometer tach does not go high enough.

    Nick is right. My father has driven for 33 years now. He gave it up last year due to his health, and he lost something coming off the road. I was fortunate enough for him to tell me what it was. Truckers transport everything, they run tight schedules, are underpaid for what they do, and there are 5 guys waiting for his seat if he fucks up. Not delivering on time may very well mean a company that is shut down and loosing ten thousnad dollars a minute because a part they need to keep the line running is sitting in a truck and not in the assembly room floor. We ALL rely on these men and women a hell of a lot more than you think. Take a simple product, ass wipe. Lets say that you needed some and the ruck delivering it was late, and you needed to take a dump, it's the sears catalog for you buddy. Now as far as the speeds that trucks run. That is your wonderful ODOT creating a VERY unsafe enviroment by having split speeds. This is what you are all bitching about, trucks running 55 and 60 while we are running 65 or 70. Due to the way that the goverment taxes fuel, and roads, and the state patrol enforce the speed limits on trucks 50 times more here that almost any other state. This is due to the gaurrentee that the ticket will be paid and not fought in court. A week from now that driver will be 6 states away most likely, and unable to appear in court. I have been close to the transportation industry all my life. From growing up in a house with a truck driving father, doing CB radio repair in 5 differnt locations and three states and now working in the logistics/transportation field doing computer support. I know the industry, I know what the drivers face on a daily basis. So cut em some slack. It's a hell of a lot harder job than most realize.

    The other option, which is sort of defeating the self expression thing is to take it out while you are interviewing, then when you get a job, do whatever. But most places have dress codes the prohibit piercings other than ear rings. I guess being older, and having gone through the ripped jeans, bandana on the leg, long hair thing. And the several other phases of being a dumb fuck kid, I can't agree with the idea that it's about self expression or that you are comprimising a damn thing, other than you want to draw attention to yourself. It's about standing out and making people notice you, being noticed in a positive light is not important, you just want people to look when you walk by, which is the same reason that we ALL do that shit. So I will say that you would have a hard time gettig me to believe that having your body punched full of holes and covered with tatoo's is expression of personality. You might like to look like that, you may do it simply to draw attention to yourself, but I am curious as to what personality traits that having your lip pierced and a nose ring represents exactly. Are you trying to convey that you are some badass that whats to kick the shit out of the world? That you are no one to be messed with? If that's the case, just run out and have FUCK YOU tatooed to your forehead. Otherwise, clean up, grow up and face the reality that either you want to be excepted tin the business world, or you want to have a job with snappy one liners like "Would you like to supersize that?" And BTW, McDonalds will NOT talk to you about a job with excesive piercings and excessive visible tatoo's either. Your other option to get people to notice you is LOTS of plastic surgury. Ax the tat's, loose the stainless steel and become a perfect ten. Then people with notice you. That or just walk around topless, it IS legal in Ohio now after all. That will draw lots of attention too. BTW, I am an equal opertunity asshole, you might not like what I have to say, but I don't figure that I like your apperance figuring that you have more chrome than a antique Buick so we are about even.
