  1. I've often thought about doing autocross, but I'm not sure how to go about getting started (there's also the age old problem of having a wife and kids that wanna do cool stuff and spend money too that takes away from anything I might invest in fielding a competitive car)
  2. I love driving it, and were it not for the fact that I've got another car that is FWD, I'd be driving it still. Obviously it'll require care when driving in any kind of weather, but as long as you drive with some sense, it isn't too difficult. Even the MPG isn't hateful. I've been averaging about what my DOHC V6 Contour does, 22-24 MPG combined city/hwy.
  3. Still got it. Drove it all last week as a matter of fact. I buckled when the weather was nice and bought tags for it.
  4. Went and checked out the sale at one of the locations down here, and they were pretty well picked clean... Nice deal on those! My living room furniture is that material and it seems to hold up great. I've had mine for over 2 years and it still looks pretty much new.
  5. Okay, it's not leaking from the oil pan gasket. It looks like it is leaking from the crank seal. This is not a project we'll be tackling. Scott, how's business? Think you'd be interested? Probably won't be able to afford to do it until like mid-late February.
  6. I'll be helping a friend out this weekend with his Celica, he's been told that it needs an oil pan gasket. I've not yet seen the car or where it's leaking from, so I cannot yet confirm this is the case, but I'm going into it with the assumption that this is the case. Just looking for a little help as far as what to look out for when doing this. I assume I'll need to drop the exhaust, but otherwise I'm thinking it should be pretty straight forward. One concern I've got though is when I replaced the oil pan gasket on my Honda because I thought it was leaking, it turned out to be an external oil pump leak. Are there any common places on these cars that leak (a lot of) oil that I should look out for?
  7. Yup, still for sale... It's sitting in my driveway just North of Cincy with dead tags under a cover at the moment. Hasn't moved since Thanksgiving weekend.
  8. DPFE? I don't think I've heard that term before. Explain?
  9. Got it started today, appears to have been a combination of issues. First, when I had the upper intake manifold off, I did not replace the upper intake manifold gaskets, and upon closer inspection after pulling it again, they were pretty badly deteriorated causing a massive vacuum leak. Second, my plugs were old and worn to .075-.080 on a factory spec of .050. Third, I think I didn't get all of the degreaser and such out of the upper intake when I cleaned it before putting it back on. I have since pulled it all apart again, replaced the upper intake gaskets, replaced the plugs, and with much effort, the car has finally started and seems to be running well. I still have a check engine light which Advance has decoded as an Idle air control voltage too high, and and EGR code that indicates that the EGR valve is not opening. Guy at the counter believes that the Idle air controller is carboned up which is preventing the EGR from working correctly. Sound feasable?
  10. Replaced the EGR Valve, PCV Valve, now it won't start. I've double checked all my vacuum lines, electrical connections, etc... Can't figure it out. Duratec specialists? I'm not sure where to go from here.
  11. I'll not go into the specifics of my end of year "bonus", but Uncle Sam's share was over 38%.
  12. For that matter, you're in Cinci now right? I work in Sharonville, you could pick it up sometime if you want.
  13. I know I've got it, I'll look tonight or tomorrow to find it and get it scanned.
  14. Found a third gen I want! Bump still for sale.
  15. Oh... Where to begin? http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n303/The_cool_Ileana/P2050321.jpg
  16. Tell me about it! I need to move this car, $3800/obo.
