  1. Get a great attorney! You will pay through the nose, but upfront cost will save you years of cost and pain down the road. I've got several friends who are divorced with kids and from all their stories - that is the best advice you can get. Sorry for your situation - good luck!!!
  2. Do the cameras run on batteries or are they wired to power? I bought a 4 camera unit but looking at all the wiring makes me second guess what I want to do. Thanks!
  3. 2017 Silverado 1500 4x4 Quad Cab 5.3l with 5'3" bed. No money down, 39 month lease, 15k/yr mile allowance - $450/mo. I tow with it and after 39 months (48,750 miles), it needs to be someone else's problem. I don't have little kids and take care of my vehicles (inside and out). The build quality of these trucks isn't what it used to be and I'm very happy to not 'own' one. Had a 2014 before this one that GM took back early (program they have to pull ahead the lease and get you out no money out of pocket). Even got a check back when turning the other one in. They said it was for a security deposit refund, but I don't pay those so no clue what it was for. Ended up with ~$1300 in my pocket and a new truck. Leasing isn't for everyone. But if the terms and conditions work for you, it can be a great option.
  4. Try the Mecum auctions. Prices have been down this year for all kinds of vehicles at these auctions. I'm heading to Indy in May for the early auctions to try and score something fun for cheap. Good luck with the search!
  5. I've got a Hagerty policy for my race car and trailer. Agreed value for each. No restrictions - I do have (more than) one vehicle per licensed drive in the household (which I believe was the only prerequisite for the policy).
  6. For my enclosed trailer, I used ProGraphix Of Columbus: http://www.prographixofcolumbus.com/index.html They did all the design and graphics work. Wrap installation process was smooth and turned out great: http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/members/downingracing-albums-trailer-picture4250-image.jpeg
  7. The bank should be able to have the title sent to you if the loan is paid off with the transaction. You should contact the bank holding the title and see what their process is for situations like this. I'm guessing they do this often and will make it an easy process for you both.
  8. If a 2000 will cover your needs, this is a great option: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291890425796?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Currently out of stock. If/when they get more in, this is a great price for this unit. Almost as quiet as the Honda for 1/2 the price.
  9. Spares available: 1 set of Kosei racing 17x9 45 offset with 245/40/17 Hoosier r6s mounted on them. 6 SSR type c 17x8 (offset unknown). 4 mounted with BFG Gforce R1 tires and two loose rims. 1 set Enkei gold rims 17x8 (offset unknown). Three have tires mounted (junk) and one loose. These are another set line the ones currently on the car. Front and rear racing pads One set of rotors Spare transmission (won't go into 2nd gear) These parts are available as add-ons or negotiation items with the sale of the car. Motivated seller - this car is sitting where my convertible goes and it is getting cold...
  10. I looked into getting a title and the process is not easy (if possible at all). Lowered asking price to $14k.
  11. I just had a chat (online) with the title agency/BMV. They told me the process to get it titled - Notarized bill of sale, MCO, and an out of state inspection. I'm going to see what I can do in the few weeks to get that done and get this thing titled to me. (who doesn't love paying sales tax on something they are selling! ) Sounds like that would make the sale easier.
  12. Good question! Didn't think about that since the car was just used for racing. The car does come with the original certificate of origin from the dealer. I believe it can be titled and driven on the street with that document. I'll do more research to try and confirm. The interior is intact with the exception of the front door panels and window glass. Making it a daily would be difficult with the cage, but driving it to events (SOLO, or track days) shouldn't be an issue. (Rougher ride and I'd recommend street tires for the street).
  13. 2005 Subaru WRX STI. Built by Phoenix Racing in 2005 for Touring 2. Car was last raced at the Run-Offs in 2011 (logbook included). Additional prep was done in 2012 to bring the car current with T2 rules, but was not raced. Has seen track day duty for the past few years (pass. seat is stock with harness installed). This is a race car and the body is not perfect. (Never crashed - just some rubbing) Car looks better in the pictures than it does in person, but I'm very critical and it does show very well. Details: Current (original) mileage is ~6k JRZ single adjustable struts Hypercoil springs (550/500) Whiteline sway bars & end links 41 mm turbo inlet restrictor Custom brake ducts OPM race seat Removable steering wheel HKS flat flange downpipe, 3" inch exhaust with Borla muffler I have some additional spares that can be negotiated into a deal (additional wheels/tires, COBB programmer, and a few other misc. items). Car is sold on a Bill of Sale and comes with the Certificate of Origin (this car has never been titled). Lower asking price: $14k/obo Will consider partial trades for race car/street car. I'd like to get this sold, so if the price is out of line, please let me know. Car is currently located in Pickerington, Ohio (43147). Matt Downing - pm me here or contact me via text at six1 four. 14. Sloe (Yellow car) was given a one year suspension at the event then the club board voted to hand down a lifetime competition ban. He has an option to appeal, but I'm guessing the ban sticks. Happy I took the video and uploaded it. No room for an act like this - ever!
  15. Friday on the last lap of the AS race. Link to the video: https://www.facebook.com/1455257376/videos/10209828614819462/?hc_location=ufi
  16. I took that video. Uploaded it to FB and it got sent all around. I was on the hill and watched the entire race. When the Yellow car rolled to a stop, we couldn't figure out what happened. Then he slowly rolled backwards checking his mirrors to get a good view of the end of the back straight. Then he waited for the White car to come around. After he rolled backwards and got 'into position', I got my phone out and recorded the event. We all knew what was going to happen and it did.
  17. Follow-up from the event: Bent a wheel on Monday in qual. Overnighted replacement wheel and got it Wednesday. Came together with another car at the start (6 turns into the race) and damaged the car. Broke that new rim and have body damage down the pass. side. Not the way I wanted my first Runoffs to go... Up side is the new trailer wrap is killer! http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/members/downingracing-albums-trailer-picture4250-image.jpeg And the video of the front and rear cameras: Ruling was we were both at fault for the contact. We spoke and left on good terms.
  18. Rolling out on Sunday for the track. Towing up and then coming back home for the street car (parts car for the week). I pick the trailer up Friday and should be able to get everything finished Saturday to leave Sunday. Getting my annual inspection completed tomorrow. Nothing like cutting it close!
  19. The Ohio Valley Region (SCCA) is hosting a Track Day (PDX) at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Friday October 7th. Details can be found here: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/2016-ohio-valley-pdx-mid-sports-car-course-scca-club-racing-100629#.V9bJxlJCiR0 If you've ever wanted to get your car on a race track, this is your opportunity! Beginners will be paired with an instructor who will show you how to get around this world class facility! This is NOT racing! It is driver training that will make you a better driver on the street. Learning about your driving ability and the ability of your car in a controlled environment. I'll also be at the track all day in an official capacity. PM me with any questions! One thing to consider when taking your car to a track is track insurance. This is the 'easy button' for coverage while on the track. Your insurance may cover you in the event of an issue, but the consequences of that can be long lasting (covered or not). This is one option for track day coverage: https://ontrackinsurance.com/ I do not have anything to do with this company. I have friends who use this one for their track day insurance, so this is the one I know about.
  20. Thanks guys! And Andy - Tell Yasmin I said hi!! The Solstice is probably not the car to make it to the podium with and I'm not sure I've got the talent in this car to be in contention. My personal goal is top 1/2 (which would be 16th or better). The field is full of top talent and top prepped machines. I'm happy to be a part of it and am looking forward to doing better then I should in my Solstice! Trailer upgrades are almost complete (interior) and the car is just about ready to go. Tires order and will be at the track - two sets of dry and one set of rains (hoping to only need one set for the race). I'll have my street Solstice at the track to use for parts if needed.

  23. I'm participating in the RunOffs at Mid-Ohio in two weeks! I qualified in Touring 4 with my Solstice and my championship race is Friday the 23rd at 5:10pm. I'll be at the track for the entire week and there are races all day Friday to Sunday. I've been around the SCCA my entire life and am very excited to participate in my first RunOffs event as a competitor!! Finishing car prep this weekend and trailer upgrades next week. Anyone planning to attend? Always fun to see friends at the track and would be great to put some new faces to names. I've got paddock space in the upper grass on the main upper paddock road. Sharing space with a few other Pontiac racing friends who also run in Touring 4. Matt Downing Touring 4 Solstice #16
