Has anyone else seen this? It sounds pretty neat if it works and is secure. I would love getting rid of the majority of cards in my wallet. It basically puts all your cards/rewards/gift cards/etc onto one programmable card. https://onlycoin.com/

  3. Just did the same thing. Socks everywhere.
  4. If you dont already have it get him Lego Mindstorms. I loved that stuff when I was his age. You can do some cool shit with it. I built a joystick controlled potato cannon using it, then a guy installing my parents hot tub called me a 10 year old terrorist

  7. Printer mod in the passenger seat. Filing crate on floor. Inverter in back.
  8. I already had all HDMI wires ran through the center post on my mount so I ended up with the following: (1) DP/HDMI dongle -> Monitor One (2) DP/DVI dongle -> DVI/HDMI adapter -> Monitor Two (3) DVI/HDMI adapter -> Monitor Three I would have just bought two DP-HDMI active adapters but of course MC only had one so I had to get a DP-DVI and DVI-HDMI adapter

  10. I bought my third and final display today. I'm using an AMD HD7700 series with eyefinity. Two of the monitors display just fine but when I try to extend to the third, it says I must disable one of the other two. This was with one HDMI connection and two MiniDP to HDMI connections. The two monitors that are currently enabled are the two MiniDP-HDMI. I also tried switching the HDMI connection to DVI. I keep seeing something about how it must be connected a certain way but nothing about it telling me to disable a monitor?? I don't know shit about this stuff, I've been able to get away with just plugging things in in the past... Thanks Edit: The more I read it looks like many have had same problem. It looks like I need an "Active" adapter for the third to work.
  11. His build is in the garage section of 6speed if any of you want to see it, can't seem to find it, though...still looking

I'm sure some of this stuff is towards the bottom performance wise but it opens my browser pretty quick There were a few headaches here and there but overall a fun process. Will build again.
  13. I did that but laptop won't run the 3rd at full resolution. Either way im bored and feel like blowing money so internet box it is. Plus i want a dedicated computer for my office, not a laptop that i have to unplug all the time.
  14. My laptop does everything I need just fine. All I need is internet basically. My laptop will only run 1 external though. It will run 2 but the 2nd is roughly 23x29 resolution
  15. It can be adjusted I just didn't think I needed much. I don't game or do any crazy editing. Decent HD (cheap anyway) and ability to run 3 monitors are all I care about.
  16. Great. I honestly hate this thing and dont want it on my desk. I was hoping to plug all monitors straight into pc.
  17. Awesome. Thanks for putting the time into that. Is Linux an option for someone clueless? I know my way around computers pretty well just don't know anything about building one.
  18. 1400sqft apt. 177 this month. Usually ~120. No gas. Seems fucking high
  19. I agree. But, like you, I dont know shit about building one either. I can adjust my budget but figured if all I'm doing is running browsers I wouldn't need much.
  20. Budget: $4-500 unless unrealistic (not including 3rd monitor) Needs: ability to run three 23" monitors SMOOTHLY Thats about it. I need several browsers open for work and my laptop isn't cutting it. I'm guessing most PC's these days can do that but building one sounds fun. I have: 2 23" monitors 1 USB to VGA converter Bonus points if you meet at microcenter and spend my money. Beers at Gallos included
  21. I just skimmed so this may have been covered...but for me it depends on labor. If it's going to take me 5 hours to change the part then I'm going with factory. Warranty or not it's not worth my time if it fails.
  22. Dropped my HP Mini the other day, cracked the screen. Looking to spend $100ish. Thanks
  23. Not a tablet but you can pick up netbooks for $100 these days.
