  5. Getting the CRS rail risers in place http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8620 A little paint, "Safety Red" of course. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8624 Gear reduction http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8623 Velox Z axis http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8625 32" display mounted http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8629 The gantry comes with 72" lengths of gear track. These need to be welded together for the length of your X-axis. I wasn't looking forward to it but it was pretty easy. I mainly didn't feel comfortable with my MIG since I've only had it for a week. But I didn't feel like rolling my TIG out to the driveway so I went for it. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8636 The gear track clamped to bottom of CRS rails. Double stick tape http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8633 Cutting the slats for the table http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8634 Fancy jig to cut the slat spacers. I cut about 80 of these ~3" long at 12.5 degrees. They all get welded to the water pan to hold the slats in place http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8637
  6. I have added prices on most of the items so far. The price listed is for a bare metal finish that has been sanded and deburred. I will have a powder coating oven soon and will be able to offer more options. Meanwhile, it is too cold for me to finish them in my garage as the paint will not dry. Maybe Hoblick can chime in with some pricing on a few things. I started this project a few months ago. While waiting on parts to arrive I picked up a 60g compressor. I was looking at dual stage Quincy's but figured that would be overkill for this application. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8613 This was the wall where the CNC would sit http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8630 I relocated the slat wall to the other side and moved all the wood to my shed http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8612 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8614 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8615 Got the table after tracking down a uhaul for 3 hours. We ended up having to load it on its side anyway since the uhaul opening is only 5ft wide. The shitty thing is I have a 5x10 but knew it wasn't wide enough. It would have worked fine since we had to turn it on its side anyway http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8631 Sitting at home http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8632 This showed up shortly after http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8635 Priming gantry brackets http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8621 38 pilot holes http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8616 38 drilled to size http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8617 All tapped http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8618 Gantry uprights http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=984&pictureid=8619
  7. Next time, use stain and then poly. That Polyshades stuff is garbage. You're polishing stain and poly together, you won't get a clear finish. You may have better luck adding a few coats of plain glossy poly on top.
  8. The software I'm using is CAD/CAM/CNC in one. I'll be using the CAD mainly on my office PC but the garage PC still needs to run everything. Basically, it's not a $20 PC running XP and Mach3. The company I'm using recommend 8gb. That's why I said 16gb
  9. That's fine too. Windows 7 goes for like $40 anymore. Not even worth trying to download. That's what I thought. Cool
  10. So the license on the case still works? Like to switch over to a SSD for the OS? That's what I'd want for quick boot up times right? Since it's a garage PC I don't want it powered on all the time. But I don't want to wait for it to power on either.... I can deal with it but if it's an easy fix then why not
  11. I'll browse CL for some outdated gaming PC that's 10x more than I need. Otherwise I'll check out the refurbs at Microcenter and ask what I can cram into one. Thanks
  12. Do I need a certain speed processor or whatever to upgrade them RAM on those refurbs? I haven't build one in 5 years and I just had the guys at MC tell me what to do when I did ...little out of date on this stuff
  13. I'm looking for.. 16gb RAM Windows 7, 8, or 10 SSD for quick startup Don't care about HD. Whatever is cheap at Microcenter That's about it. It will be a garage PC to run my CNC. I just need to run the software and browse the internet. Nothing else Can I buy a $200 refurb and upgrade? Start from scratch? ...? Thanks! I built my current one so that's not an issue, just not good with all the specs and latest hardware
  14. Do you know anyone with Amazon Prime? The SD-425 is in stock for Prime Now delivery. My neighbors (Snouffer/Linworth area) tried out out the 2-hour delivery and it took 37 minutes. Edit: Didn't see that you got one
  15. You can just make an extension cord with the two different plugs if you want to go that route. Or cut the plug off the welder and put on an angled one if the cord is long enough.
  16. That should tap pretty easily. How many holes? You can always order a decent tap for $10 from grainger and pick it up within an hour. Otherwise I'd just try the $3-4 ones you can pick up anywhere

Thanks. Yeah it sucked but lesson learned. At least they are reversible With some upcoming projects I desperately need more room to work in my garage. I'm constantly moving motorcycles, mower, yard tools, etc. Monday I just started digging and ended up here http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160516/f31405a2b9a84cff79cad47ad205e217.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160516/684fdc684d8ab693c620cc3b60a71e25.jpg Tuesday. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160516/14cd7f10d0c07a8811616fa0976da2c2.jpg Wednesday. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160516/2b42e0b35aad3bcfb75342a140186d5e.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160516/06d1ccfa0f784c7fbaac6f6cb60b6912.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160516/e813c50d1a7e74a6e377288f1231f354.jpg Thursday. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160516/4a174f8b8da6f031205462162b874405.jpg Friday. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160516/a0904eccfbd4afb614165da6536a54aa.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160516/943c473e8af7c3249915797138401947.jpg I'm winging it so progress slowed by end of week as I had to actually start thinking. I should have the walls and roof sheathing done today. Then make a window, door, and pick up shingles.

Moving on. Starting the glue up for a pub style table. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160507/4aa2935fc7997d8d9f2f881267be6bfb.jpg I'm gluing the top up in pairs easier final glue up. They will be further dimensioned so not too concerned with dead even clamping pressure. A straight edge says it's good for now. I started with 8/4 oak http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160507/70da3428f2b6c05487303deda24f3513.jpg Where I'm at now http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160507/57c283ab04330db916b89c215cf8511c.jpg

Never trust old untouched wood. Or the Amish apparently. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160507/2906317ec4f9ce17f401bd698cd6a465.jpg My planer made the nail pretty smooth before getting chipped. I even have a metal detector for that reason. Stupid mistake. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160507/e5c5f0218e03177892e8cdfdce5359f1.jpg

Send me some pics Yeah it took a couple hours to make this one and a similar one for our master. And I am not paying $300 for a particle board vanity. I spent less than that on this whole setup. I'm not sold on the iron pipe TP holder but it will do for now. It was a better idea in my head. We'll see after I paint it. It is just primed currently

Cheap and 1/2 don't go together well. It will bend and twist all over the place. At least go 3/4 if you're going cheap. That has been my experience, anyway
