Yeah, I think Zack and I differ on our stance of Boise: I'm a bit more forgiving of them than he is. I'd say they'd go something like 6 -3 in the B10 in any given year, but have the potential for beating just about any B10 team in a one-game scenario.
-
Oh, so Joshie tried to pull a fast one on me, did he? Yeah, I thought something was amiss, and now I know why: he conveniently used the USA Today poll (which is the dumber of the two) and not the AP poll when referencing USC and them beating Oregon. This is a fairly serious infraction. I'm deducting an entire point: 0.5 points for the deception and 0.5 points for the fact that USC was actually ranked and therefore supportive of my initial argument. Josh, you are now at 0.5 points.

I think I have been on the record here in saying that Boise's accomplishments cannot be discredited and that they can play with any team in a one-game scenario. While I doubt they could be as dominant if they played in one of the AQ conferences, they still deserve some modicum of respect. Your argument fails to be compelling. Zero points added.

Yeah, this is actually a fairly difficult riddle.

No one ever expects Boise to win, ever. Yet all they did was win for like three years straight. You get no points for the 2009 Boise argument. And you get no points for the 2008 Boise loss - Oregon was only ranked #17, and if was Boise then it had to be early in the season, and we all know how valid early season rankings are. I'll give you like 1/2 a point for the loss to unranked USC. Some teams, like USC, can never be considered "givens" just because of their prestige, history, etc. I'll give you a full point for the unranked Stanford over a #8 Oregon. Yeah, they shouldn't have lost that game. So, total points for Josh: 1.5 Points needed for next level: 100

*kaboom* Quick riddle, you might have heard of it. Others may not, and everyone knows anyone shopping for used wheels and tires enjoys a good riddle, so here goes: You come to two doors, both of which has a guard. You must pass through one of the doors. One door leads to certain death and the other door leads to eternal riches, etc. Each door has a guard. One guard always tells the truth and one guard always lies, but there's no way of knowing which guard is which. You can only ask one question to one of the guards before choosing the door you'll walk through. What question do you ask that will guarantee you'll pick the door to eternal riches?

BRB, calling off work for the week.

Was Oregon ranked when they lost those games you mentioned? I think they were ranked when they lost to Boise that one time - in 2008 or whatever when Lagarette Blount went nuts afterward - but Boise was ranked too, I think. And they aren't a darkhorse. A team like Arizona State could be considered a darkhorse in the Pac12. Stop using that word. To quote a very awesome movie, I do not think it means what you think it means.

P.S. If someone photoshops the wheels on Jeffro's car, then Adrianna Lima should also get photoshopped in the car, since that's the kind of broad you can expect to pull with a wheel and tire package like this.
-
Another option: buy them and put them on the car. If they look dumb, then just give them back and I'll refund your money.
-
If I said I was a liar, would that make your brain explode?
-
Because the world can tolerate only so much hair product and douchiness.
-
Yeah, just checked out Oregon's stats for the past few years - they don't lose when they aren't supposed to.
-
Oregon isn't a dark horse? They are considered a front-runner to win the league. The only reason why they aren't getting more press is because USC is monopolizing all of it. And who has Oregon lost to in recent years that they were supposed to lose to? I can think of one: Arizona a few years ago. Every other time they lost was when they were beaten by a better or evenly-matched opponent, like LSU last year, or Boise a few years ago. Of course, I'm not Oregon historian, but my inclination is to say that they don't usually lose to clearly inferior teams (like USC used to).
-
Yeah, but doesn't Air Force put up those kinds of numbers against everybody? They run that funky triple option that is tough to prepare for/defend. Not saying that USC wouldn't light up Michigan's D, just saying that Air Force putting up big offensive numbers isn't anything alarming. I think USC gets beat by Stanford and gets wholloped by Oregon. Or at least that's what I think right now. Like you said, we'll know more about USC after this weekend. Maybe they have just been kind of lackadaisical up to this point, playing down to their competition, etc.

That last post Was kind of like A nice Haiku

Alabama's defense is what USC's defense was a few years ago. USC had trouble putting away Syracuse. I could see Michigan beating USC in a shootout-type game. BTW, no homerism in my analysis. I actually like USC and would want them to win that game.
-
ND vs. Michigan - when I watch that game, I can never decide which team I want to lose more. I think USC is not as good as what a lot of people think they are. If a USC - Michigan series was happening right now, I don't see them stomping Michigan. In fact, if they played today, I'd put money on Michigan to win. USC's defense does nothing for me. Now, if we're talking USC 2002-2008, then, yeah, Michigan gets curb stomped on the regular. Hell, USC curb stomped everyone on the regular those years, minus Texas and a handfull of Pac10 teams that never should have beat them (e.g., Stanford, Cal, UCLA, Oregon State).

Here's a SI link to the ND/ACC news. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/football/ncaa/09/12/notre-dame-acc/index.html?xid=siextra_091212 Looks like ND was interested in capturing more of an East Coast presence versus the Midwest. Can't say I blame them, at least from a numbers perspective - if I am remembering the statistics correctly, the population is shifting toward ACC regions and away from the Midwest. ND will likely keep USC on their schedule, won't they? If so, then you think USC will also add Michigan as a regular fixture? That would be kind of badass.

Wheels and tires are still available. BIGGU, sorry, I've been lazy and haven't checked on that stuff you wanted me to. Apparently, I'm not all that desperate to sell these things. I'll try to get around to checking them.

Why would you feel sorry for me? I didn't own that car when it met its unfortunate demise. Good luck with the sale. Great looking car.

LOL NICE JOKE ADAM MCCLISH WHY DONT YOU SAY THAT TO MY FACE

I'd likely head over Friday night, stay in Indy, then drive down to Bloomington for the game. Make a weekend of it. Alternately, it's close enough you could just drive over for the game and drive back afterward and you're not out much in the way of time.
-
Ohio State @ Indiana games are like mini home Ohio State games.

Of course, it's too early in the season to say who has a great defense currently. However, the "eyeball" test makes me think Alabama certainly has a very good defense. USC though - not so much. Not sure what it is, but the Kiffin USC teams just lack that killer instinct. I guess we'll know more after this weekend when they play Stanford.
