  7. sorry didnt get any pics over the weekend, finals week is coming up waaayy too fast, didnt have time. it is what it is serious offers welcome. Kaleb called me i called you back, i'll try and get the thing on campus so you can check it out if still interested.
  8. engine has some noise, it has never been replaced! it is a GM, i had a Chevy Astro van with the 4.3 v6 auto sold it before the winter with 247k on original motor with rebuilt tranny for $500. that van was the shit, it towed so many different things with that its rediculous, i have a lot of confidence it GM, even though ive only owned the van. back to the saturn its a good running car, idle is a little rough, but runs strong, its the twin cam engine which is far supperior to the single cam saturns which have head problems, and even with so many miles it still pulls strong i told her to keep it under 3grand when she shifts and it would last a lot longer and she has done this, so...i'm going to have it on osu campus around (3/5) 1pm or so to take the stereo, amp and my speakers out, so if you want (or anyone) give me a call on my cell: 740-815-5848 and i'll tell you where im at and you could come check it out. thanks for the interest, -John
  9. i found some one to lend me a camera, but wont get it until friday, i'll take some pics over the weekend and hopefully have some posted by sun or monday. are there any particular things you would like pics of? besides normal, dif angles of car, engine bay, dif interior shots, odometer, etc. -john
  10. no pics, dont have a digital camera, its dark blue, 4 door, paint looks like is should for the mileage, a few scratches, mostly on trunk and back bumper, few rock chips on hood, and scratches on roof above driverside door she set stuff on the roof when she unlocked the door. its not a show car its a 30-33mpg daily driverwith +230k, dont expect it to be cosmetically perfect its 11 years old, this car has seen a lot of road, plently of roadtrips. I can arranage a time to look at if you would like, let me know whats best for you and i'll let you know what works for me. If you really just want pics i'll try and see what i can do, no promises though
  11. Here is a good daily driver. Its a 93 Saturn SL2 4-door twincam 5spd, Power locks, windows, sunroof, Dark blue exterior, gray interior a few stains, factory tape deck (most speakers are blown though), AC recharged last summer R12, Cruise control, driver side air bag, it’s a reliable car, however it has about 230k miles on original motor. Still gets about 30-33mpg. Windshield has a crack from top to bottom on far passenger side, it’s a straight crack, no spidering. It’s been a really good car and has been very reliable, I've done all the repairs/work on the car except for alignments and tires, I know this car like the back of my hand. It was my girlfriends and she just bought an 05 Saturn Ion 3 Coupe its sweet, fully loaded only 20k!! I want one… Many new parts (within past year to year and a half): Front Brakes and rotors Waterpump and drive pulley Starter and Battery Alignment (needs it again, pothole season) Left and right control arms Serpentine belt Radiator, hoses, clamps and thermostat Plugs and wires Tires (about 50% left) Upper Motor Mount Sunroof seal (leaked alot fixed now) Replaced clutch at about 160k about 3 years ago Its blue booked around 1400 which there is no way anyone would pay that much, looking for $600. Its in Westerville I can arrange to look at/test drive/etc. Email me if interested elfboy98@juno.com [ 29. March 2005, 09:51 AM: Message edited by: Jonan ]

  15. I liked this one... "The answer to this last question will determine whether you are drunk or not. Was Mickey Mouse a cat or a dog?"
  16. thanks for all the advice/info!! graemlins/grin2.gif I'll share all your posts with my dad. He will be glad to know i have this connection, with quick knowledgeable responses incase, we run into anything or just for a second, or third, or fourth opinion! Thanks again guys keep it comin', we'll prolly get rollin’ on this project once the weather breaks, where he’s living right now doesn’t have a big garage. Hopefully when he gets a job he'll be able to get a place with a better one so we can get the car out of the field. I'm so excited, oh and there will be pics once we get started, I would like to document the endeavor. THanks again, John
  17. So, if you guys had a 69' Valiant that needed a motor and had no interior and a decent body what would you do? My parents recently got divorced and it has become increasingly hard to spend time with my dad. We've always talked about building a fun car, drag, classic, street rod, etc, but time is key I have none and he has lots (currently unemployed). I have the ablitily to get a decent looking, black, missing nothing but he interior, and the motor is toast 69' Valiant for next to nothing. I come from a family with a some gearheads, well actually just my dad and his brother. My dad restored a 62' volvo with his father about 25-30 years ago, before my time, and my uncle has a quite a few cars, coolest is prolly his 67' RoadRunner (low-mid 11s) nice car sounds reeeel nice. Drunkendubber has seen/heard it. Anyway back to the task at hand... What engine would you all suggest? Money is sort of an issue and this car would be a slow build year or two, but thats fine with me, more time to spend hanging out with my dad. We're not tring to make the fastest, sweetest anything we just wanna have some fun together. So if any one has, what ever v8 would be good for this project just laying around, that are good, blah-blah-blah. I'm sure you all get the point by now. Oh, and we're looking to go in a straight line, just to clairify. Lemme know what you guys think, suggestions are welcome. Thanks, John On another note please be kind, the divorce is still kind of a sensitive subject and it wasn't too long ago. So if you think a Valiant is a poor choice thats fine please keep it to yourselves, I'm just looking for a good economical project to spend time with my father.

  20. I was 11...man those were the days, not a care in the world. I wish I knew then what I know now. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed the last 10 years, aside from the occasional bump in the road of course, and I am looking forward to the next 10 years. Live your life to the fullest, its the only way to truely enjoy life...
